Gorgeous views and peaceful ! Very well stocked house with very thorough instructions with labeling throughout . Both bathrooms are on lower floor which could be an issue if staying in upstairs bedroom.

Very clean and excellent communication with the host. Nice view through a huge living room picture window. Lots of hummingbirds at the property. Very cool. Great proximity into Healdsburg and many great restaurants and wine tasting rooms.

We had a great stay with our 3.5 yo and dog. Tenay, the property manager was incredibly detailed and helpful---even keeping us updated on a little brush fire on our way up by the freeway. We were lucky to get parking down by the beach, as we started our days early. 10 min away from downtown Healdsburg and Safeway was so convenient. Stephen, the owner, was also so helpful and gave us great "local advice".

We had a wonderful time at FML.. the accommodations were just what we needed for our wine tasting weekend. Taney the property manager was amazing to work with. The only downfall was no main level bathroom, you had to go downstairs to the bathroom. Excellent property, loved the location and the hummingbirds all over the property were so fun to watch!!

Fitch Mountain Lookout was clean and beautiful! Excellent location - very close to lots of local attractions. The hosts were very available and welcoming. They even decorated the house for our arrival to celebrate our birthdays.

Thank you for the great review!! We agree! The views! and views! We now have new hot tub has been a constant hit since we upgraded it! With led lights and waterfall action, it is its own little party! Although, did you know that during spring, at the right time of evening, if you sit in the dark, you can also watch the Milky Way Galaxy Core rise above that mountain ridge horizon you loved to stare at! We have since enhanced the outdoor decks with soft rugs and hummingbird feeders and have more upgrades in the work! We have elevated the bed linens to luxury 600-threat-count extra-long-staple organic cotton sheets, and put new Tfal cookware and upgraded the coffee-maker in the kitchen. Of course we also refreshed the interiors with bright and modern paint schemes! We have more amazing updates in the works, so we would love to host you again, with a returning guest discount!

This home has beautiful forested hill views and is light filled, in an area that feels quiet and almost rural, yet is only a 10-minute drive from the most popular areas of Healdsburg. The owner and property manager were very good communicators and very eager to help us have an enjoyable stay--much appreciated. Very clean and well-organized. Great for bird viewing! Please be aware of a few things that are not obvious from the photos: 1) the primary bedroom on the top level has no bathroom, and the closest bathroom is down two flights of steep stairs, 2) the outside deck with a beautiful view of the hills has no access from the living/dining room area, but only downstairs, walking through the two small bedrooms on the lowest floor of the home, and the large deck that is accessible from the main level has no view, 3) the river bank is a ten-minute uphill/downhill walk away, and is a large rough rock area with no sand and no shade, and 4) Sonoma County's short-term rental regulations mean that it is not allowed to have any friends visit, even for a glass of wine or a small dinner party, unless they are paid renters. Great SIP River Getaway!

We really enjoyed our SIP river getaway. Everything was as described and the owner went above and beyond to ensure we had a nice stay. Views are wonderful!!

We were glad that the new beach amenities (extra-large beach towels, sunshade pop-ups, etc.) added some extra delight! We are so glad that you and the kids enjoyed your time at the river and house. We are excited that our provided Hummingbird Happy Hour kit provided some extra delight, and I am honestly jealous that you saw a blue jay riding on a baby fawn's back right from the living room window! That is a first even for me! We hope to host you again (and as a returning guest, you will get a discount)!

40th birthday celebration

Beautiful views! Short drive to Healdsburg. House was decorated for the birthday and all the accommodations were great. Would definitely stay again!

Great place

Place is a real gem: Beautiful views of the Russian River valley from the house and from several decks; Spacious and comfortable inside; Hot tub outside on deck with beautiful view of the valley; easy walk to water. We also did some nearby hikes and spent time in the lovely town of Healdsburg. Owner Stephen and manager Tenay were great hosts.

We are a little up the hill from the beach, which provides those amazing valley views. The walk to the beach is only a few minutes (6mins by google) down and around two corners. To eliminate any confusion finding the semi-private beach and Del Rio Woods Beach from the house, we now provide a very detailed map with the Arrival Information Package. Girls getaway

We booked the house for a long weekend. It’s just outside of Healdsburg and has a beautiful view. The kitchen was well stocked and it was a great place for a fun weekend.

Long weekend in Healdsburg

The owner Stephen was great to work with and he was very helpful with recommendations. The property manager phoned promptly on our check in and reviewed the features of the property with us. The location is outstanding for touring the wine region.

Since we are located in the heart of 3 famous wine appellations, Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, and Dry Creek Valley, we definitely agree we are ideally located for wine touring! We are only minutes from downtown Healdsburg Town Square with its multiple Michelin star-reviewed restaurants as well, and I hope that you had an opportunity to experience some of those as well! If not, it definitely sounds like it might be time to book again and grab that returning guest discount and see all of our new improvements!

Great Trip

House is convenient to town and as shown in listing. The road to the house is a little tight for large vehicles. Great home base for seeing wine country.

Bruce, Thank you for the excellent review! We do have a great location, in the heart of 3 wine appellations, and are only minutes drive to downtown--and only minutes walk to Russian River beaches with great views from the house. It is true that the road to the house is a typical California narrow and bendy road, and can be tricky for really large vehicles. However, the county has been doing massive vegetative management which has definitely improved it. We have made many improvements (inside and out) since you last visited to enhance any future stay! We would love to host you again, with a returning guest discount of course!

Fitch Mountain Lookout - Russian River

This was a great long weekend get away! The house is spacious with a big kitchen and great picture window in the living room. We had kids with us and it was a lot of fun for all of us. Access to the private beach made it all the more perfect. We would love to stay again!

WHY I FELL IN LOVE WITH FML (Fitch Mountain Lookout)

Fitch Mountain Lookout is located in Sonoma Valley Wine Country, in the heart of where the appellations of Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, & Dry Creek Valley converge. We are located on Fitch Mountain in a rural country Healdsburg neighborhood where deer, humming birds, various wild birds (Orioles, Junkos, Siskin Pine, Gold Finches) visit our yard daily. From our beautiful vistas, it is common to watch Egrets, Osprey & Herons fly below along the river's edge; during spring the colorful swallows put on amazing acrobatics.

Fitch Mountain Lookout may feel completely removed from the world, but we are still just 2 miles (5 minute drive) from the Healdsburg town square, only a few minutes walk down to the river to a semi-private beach for swimming/tubing. (We do recommend guests w/very young children drive, more detailed information & directions for both beaches are provided upon booking). We are only a few miles drive to the Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Anderson Valley Vineyards, so hire a driver & spend the day enjoying the views, vines, & of course, the wine! With only a slightly farther drive, you'll reach the lovely Sonoma Lake! Stop at the Dry Creek General Store on the way for some picnic fixings & enjoy them from the incredible elevated view points! Craving some salty ocean air? FML is less than an hour (@ 40 miles) from the majestic Bodega Coastlines, full of activities, curiosities, & good eats. If you are craving big city tourist attractions, in @ an hour, you can be at the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge (& Headlands) looking at the San Francisco skyline.

We have an amazing office space! Is working remotely necessary in between wine tasting & river tubing? We have you covered! While both the Duncanson & Van Gogh rooms have lounge areas with ample space to set up your mobile workspace (and the former also has a desk and chair), sometimes you need more room to stay organized, or maybe you just want to keep it out of sight from the rest of your vacation experience--we have you covered! Fitch Mountain Lookout also has a separate office area right next to the (seasonal) air conditioning. This spacious office area is equipped with an extra large L-shaped desk station, ergonomic padded office chair, and has a robust 400mps Wi-Fi that make any video calls a breeze. Surrounded with office art any Star Wars fan will love & gorgeous forest views—it will definitely reduce the sting of having to tend to business. With a sliding glass door that leads straight to the Coffee & Cuddles Deck with even more Russian River Valley views, fresh air breaks are easy, and might be hard to resist.
