> WELCOME TO STRADDIE BEACH CABIN

Life is good at the beach!

There are very few north facing beaches on the east coast. The best thing about Point Lookout is that if one beach is a bit blown-out, just go around the corner to another beautiful beach. North Straddie offers many options for your holiday.

Straddie Beach Cabin is a secluded free-standing eco cabin (Shack 18) that offers privacy within the island's premier resort. Located at beautiful Home Beach in Point Lookout, it is set in leafy natural surrounds and caters for singles and couples. It has everything needed to make your stay a pleasurable one, with most of the islands attractions nearby.

The stylish architect designed high-set one-bedroom eco cabin offers a practical, inspirational design, with a mezzanine bedroom featuring a queen size bed. There are two additional single foam mattresses and a portable folding cot stored in the cabin. The cabin is air-conditioned with open plan lounge/dining. It is self contained with a modern kitchenette, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, big screen plasma TV, DVD/CD & Foxtel service. A medium size Weber Q barbeque stands on the extended rear deck which is secluded by a beautiful natural screen of native greenery. A beach umbrella and two beach chairs are kept in the cabin for guests to use. A small collection of grocery staples and a small supply of cleaning items is also kept on-site. All linen is supplied for two guests. A complimentary room clean and fresh linen is provided for stays longer than 7 days.

A late check-out may be available on request.

Guests have access to the resort's pool (one of the best on the island) and a small gymnasium.

Wireless internet access is available from reception at reasonable rates and the great on-site Cafe offers great breakfasts, lunches, woodfired pizza and a quality barista.

In the words of a recent guest: "We absolutely loved Stradbroke - our first visit and thought your beach shack was great, especially the deck which made it very private. It was a perfect place to stay. We would certainly ask for No 18 if we were to return".

Feel free to have a look at our other guest comments!

Charming cabin
The cabin was very quaint. Great location across from a beautiful beach. Wifi password was not noted anywhere. Emailed owner and he responded quickly with it.

A blessing
What a blessing to escape to this island retreat. A lovely little cabin with a secluded feel due to bushland surrounds, yet conveniently located near the pool, gym, cafe and just across the road from the beach. It has a compact and clever design. The kitchenette provided everything you need to self-cater including cloths and detergent. Laundry facilities were hidden in a cupboard. There was a lovely open living space with high ceilings trailing out onto a lovely peaceful deck. Up the stairs was a fresh loft bedroom with good storage which overlooked the lounge. Furnishing was comfortable and extras were available including Foxtel, videos, books and games. Only thing I would like to change is to have stayed longer. Thanks!

Gorgeous Spot!
This was a superb discovery on Straddie - perfect for a week or a weekend away. We stayed 2 nights and wanted for nothing. So many extras were provided and the huge outdoor deck was a perfect spot for breakfast and early evening drinks. Right across from Home Beach we hardly needed our car as we could walk to the beach. There is an onsite cafe but you can also fully cater if you prefer to byo food supples. Highly recommended and will definitely return - thanks for a great stay.

Good location, poor amenities
We stayed for 3 nights. On arrival we were happy the beach was across the road and there was a cafe on the resort site. It was perfect for us to attend a wedding at the community hall. We were disappointed by the lack of cleanliness of the shack. The floors were dusty, fan and aircon were covered in dust and mould. The back door fly screen had a hole in it where the lock was so you could not feel safe to leave the glass door open at night. There was only half a toilet roll there and only the one bin liner so we had to buy more toilet paper and bin liners which I consider to be inadequate for any holiday rental. There was also no hand soap in the bathroom so we had to use the one provided in the shower which again was only half full. The tv remotes had flat batteries and don't work half the time. The bed is terribly uncomfortable. Overall the shack served the purpose of attending a wedding due to the location however, we wouldn't recommended to others due to the poor ammenities and lack of cleanliness. This shack needs a serious update.
