The Whale Lookout, Eagle Bay

Summary:
This 1 bedroom studio is only a 7 minute walk to the beach and is set on an acre of beautiful native bushland which it shares with a second residence. Both private residences have uninterrupted ocean views across Eagle Bay, and the Cape Naturaliste National Park – the ultimate escape for a romantic holiday.

The Space:
Lounge on the balcony with a glass of local wine and gaze at the ocean after a hard day of strolling along the beach and wine tasting at Wise Winery or Eagle Bay Brewery, both located just a 3 minute drive away.

This property is perfect for a couples getaway. Fitted with quality furnishings, reverse cycle air conditioning in the living area (Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker, and WIFI ) and a kitchenette adequately equipped for 2 people (countertop toaster oven, two burner hotplate, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, toaster).

The separate bedroom has a queen bed with fresh linen and bath towels supplied. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, vanity and an under bench washing machine which is helpful for those staying a little longer (separate toilet).

The large deck area includes an electric Weber BBQ, dining table and timber li-lo chairs to create a relaxed atmosphere and enhances the romantic mood. You will not want to go home after experiencing this amazing vacation.

Please note: the studio is situated on a shared property with the owners' residence. Every effort is made to give guests as much privacy as possible; the owners are extremely respectful of guest privacy. The main house does not overlook the interior of the studio whatsoever, however the balcony is visible from the home. Access is via a flight of approx. 20 external wooden stairs.

Guest Access:
ACCESS: Please be aware that the studio is accessed via an external set of wooden stairs, approximately 20 steps in total.

PARKING: The lookout is all yours, we just ask that guest cars are parked alongside the exterior wall (where the lockbox is) in order to keep the owners' access clear at all times. Please be aware that the driveway has limited space and is awkward to manoeuvre, so any large vehicles/trailers will need to be approved prior to booking. Access to the parking area requires passing under a section of the owners' house with a maximum clearance of 2.2m; any vehicles that exceed this will not be able to park on the property. There is a section of road next to the driveway entrance where guest vehicles can be parked, at the guest's risk as this is not private land. It is, however, a very quiet, dead end street.

PRIVACY: Every effort has been made to make the lookout a private and relaxing getaway for guests, and thanks to its position, the bedroom & bathroom are not overlooked by the house at all. The lounge/kitchen and deck are within view of the main house, but the owners have installed privacy shutters over their own windows to make sure that guests are never overlooked from their home.

The Neighborhood:
Eagle Bay is one of the most sought-after destinations in the South West, thanks to its stunning coastal views, pristine beaches and secluded position north of Dunsborough. Tucked away in the Meelup Regional Park, it is a nature lover's dream, and we challenge anyone to get tired of swimming in the picture perfect water, lounging on the soft white sand, or enjoying the world class views! Explore the park trails or while away the days at the beach - your holiday, your pace.

Eagle Bay is in the perfect position to pop into Dunsborough for all of your shopping needs, and to explore the northernmost part of the cape (Cape Naturaliste), where you will be treated to secluded beaches, dramatic rock formations and crystal-clear, turquoise waters as far as the eye can see. It really is paradise!

It's not just about summer here, despite its popularity thanks to the glorious weather; all year round, even when we may be less blessed with warm days and sunny skies, visitors can enjoy hikes, biking, surfing, off-roading, horse riding, cave tours, water sports, fishing, wine and beer tasting, and generally eating and drinking one's way around the area! Visit in spring to catch the whale migration and wild flower season, or in autumn to enjoy quieter beaches and excellent surf.

The Margaret River Wine Region is one of the most prestigious winemaking areas in the world. Considered a “boutique” region, production is relatively small and quality-focused. The unique microclimates and fabulous soils here mean that producers are able to make some of the world’s best Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with a host of other single varietal and blend wines; most wineries will have a good selection of options, including various sparkling wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz if the flagship varieties aren’t your cup of tea. Many of these wineries are also home to phenomenal restaurants, and your dining options will range from full tasting menus to casual pizzas or grazing boards. If you have any particular restaurant on your wish list, we strongly recommend booking ahead all year round. In peak summer season (December-February), bookings are essential and may need to be made several weeks or months in advance. Please contact us directly if you would like tailored recommendations for your self-guided winery and/or brewery tour. If you have time, we highly recommend buying a ticket onto one of the many locally operated winery and brewery tour buses, for an unforgettable day out of excellent food and drink.

Getting Around:
There is very limited public transport in this area, so a private car is essential.

Babies may be permitted to stay with you by request. The property is not suitable for children that are able to walk or crawl.

All linen is provided (excl. beach towels). All of our accommodation is fully self-catered, and as a courtesy we provide a basic starter pack for each stay, including: soap, toilet rolls, tea, coffee & sugar, basic cleaning products, and some cooking essentials (oil, salt & pepper). We provide these items to help kick-start your holiday in a stress-free way, but guests are responsible for the ongoing supply of anything they should require beyond the starter pack provided.

One of us is available on the number listed at all times; please do not call outside of office hours (Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm) unless it is an emergency. The property owners (living on-site) have a lovely chocolate labrador called Winston. He does not have access to the Studio but may come and say hello to you.
