Great place to stay.
This place is awesome. This was our second time staying here for VMI parents weekend. It’s about 25 minutes from VMI located on a beautiful mountain. We’ve booked parents weekend for next year.
The Hosken’s are great hosts. Highly recommend a stay here.
Beautiful property! Had all the conveniences of Home. Will definitely stay here again.
Great location for escaping the city
We stayed for the weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. The kitchen had everything you could need and the views from the house were phenomenal. If we ever return to the Lexington, VA area, we'll certainly look to return to this property again!
A Hidden Gem in the Shenandoah!
While a little off the beaten path, this property is one of a kind! We had the pleasure of staying at Ed & Daphne Hosken's gorgeous mountain retreat while we were visiting our VMI cadet and were blown away by the beautiful mountain views and the wonderful hospitality of Ed & Daphne! Our only disappointment was that we couldn't spend more time enjoying the fire pit and having coffee watching the mist over the mountains. We'll leave that for the next visit (we can't wait to return)! I can only imagine how much more beautiful this might be during the fall leaf season. If you're coming in the winter months, you might want to make sure you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle as the gravel road is steep in parts. The property is about 15 miles (30 minutes) from VMI and W&L, but do not let that deter you...this place is definitely worth the extra time to get there! Thanks again Ed & Daphne...we'll see you next time!
Thank you for the kind words. And, thank yo for leaving the place so clean. You are always welcome. Be well.
Peaceful, beautiful escape!
This is an immaculate home with every amenity you can imagine! The beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and wildlife make it the perfect get away. The hosts are gracious and welcoming.
Top notch hospitality. Amazing views. Perfect getaway
We had so much fun on this gorgeous property!! I'd like to thank Ed and Daphne for being absolutely perfect hosts! They may be the warmest most welcoming people you'll ever meet! The freshly laid eggs and vegetables delivered daily from Daphne's garden were spectacular!
From the breathtaking mountain views, giant firepit, and the most comfortable bedding I've ever slept on, this place is a must if you're looking to get away :)
We will be back, often!!!!
See you soon!
