Starfish (With WIFI) has spacious, open plan living areas and deck with views to the bay and bush. There is a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, designer furniture, excellent beds and mattresses. Relax on the shady deck overlooking a natural stream which winds through the backyard. From Starfish it's just a short walk to the cafe and Hyams Beach.

A fabulous home and a fabulous host. Close enough to easily walk to the beach, even with very young kids, but not so close as to be in the craziness of the crowds. The property is quiet and has everything you could need.

Great location , beautiful views

We loved staying at the starfish house , it had an amazing location with beautiful views. The house was also super clean. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property 👍

Yvette left the house in a bad way - there were bits of food all over the house - one of the beds had chocolate all over the sheets and doona - there were drink cans and icy pol packets in the bathroom on the bedroom level - food crumbs everywhere. Nothing was put back in the right place in the kitchen and took a long to re-organise the kitchen and get everything back in order. The dishwasher had lots of food scraps in it. I took photos of everything. The beds looked kids had wrestled on them. They made no attempt to tidy up before they left - after 7 days - they just walked out. Electric cars (2) being charged alternately almost everyday without my permission. I would not recommend these guests to future hosts. Not respectful guests.

Beautiful house and perfect location

House is beautiful and well equipped - I would say it's only missing wifi. The location is ideal, just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Hyams Beach. I would totally stay there again and recommend it!

The kitchen far better equipped than most, I cooked lots of meals and desserts. Really appreciated the shot glasses for our rakia, not usual to find in a rental property. And the cheese board. Huge fridge and freezer, easy to cater for 8 for five days. Lovely walk to the beautiful beaches (both directions). Close enough to walk back to get cold drinks and snacks for the family without having to wait half an hour at the Cooked Goose to buy drinks. Very quiet and easy to sleep at night. Surrounded by trees and birds, we saw black cockatoos, wattle birds and heaps of kookaburras right outside on the balcony. The parking space was very easy to use and flat, given houses there are on such a steep slope.

Cousins by the beach

Starfish was an excellent choice by us, plenty of off street parking, walk through the front door and it’s the “wow” factor from music playing and that view. Starfish is the cleanest accommodation I’ve ever stayed in and so close to the beach. Credit to Host Marina and her cleaning staff.

Family holiday

The house is very spacious, light and airy with plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen is very well equipped, which is often unusual in a holiday home. Great deck with sea views. Really good coffee shop about 5 minutes' walk from the house. We had a wonderful week at Starfish.

Best weekend escape!

We had the most wonderful weekend in Hyams Beach staying at the Starfish Beach House. The house was modern, spacious, clean and equipped with all the essentials which made the weekend really easy for us. The place was a short walk to the most beautiful beach and also close to the grocery store/cafe's etc. We had a wonderful weekend and hope to stay again!! Thank you!!

Beautiful 3 bedroom + loft two storey house with partial ocean views

My group of friends plus two children enjoyed our stay at the Starfish. It's a very large two storey house, big enough to accommodate 8 adults. Very close to Hyams beach, only a 5 min walk (although you'll have to walk uphill back to the house). There's also a cafe 5mins walk from the house by the beach which is very convenient. We did feel a bit like we were walking on eggshells as there were signs and rules throughout the house. Otherwise would've given it 5 stars.

Some people are a little precious, over sensitive and difficult to please. My 80 year old neighbour has no problem walking up the hill each day when she goes for her daily walk. Yes, there are a few signs in the house. One of them gives you directions for an alternate route to the beach - the other has my phone contact details for emergencies. These guests were given an extra late check out of 4pm and had two additional guests which weren’t on their initial booking. You would think they would be grateful. Marina Starfish Beach House

Overall the house was good but there are not 3 bathrooms as advertised as the outdoor shower is counted as a bathroom.The house rule signs throughout the house are overkill making us feel unwelcome.Wifi access would be an improvement.We did not use the bbq as we were afraid to get it dirty!!!

Girl’s Weekend

My girlfriends and I had a great weekend away. The property was clean and comfortable and in a great location. The only problem we encountered was poor phone reception (Telstra & Optus) and no wifi at the property. Other than that, the weekend was just perfect.

Hi Caitlin, Thank you for your lovely review! Usually the phone reception is pretty good. The Hotspot is up in the loft - the best place for reception for phone and Wifi. My theory is when there are Navy ships in the bay - it somehow interferes with everything! There were three ships in the bay while you were there and that may be the reason you didn't have reception. Good stay for low peak times

Lovely property, entry level bathroom and loft bedroom were not as comfortable for a second family sharing (unequal size & privacy with no door for the loft bedroom). Was enjoyable to be close to our favourite Chinaman's beach. General area would be too busy in peak season with Bodereee Ave at front of house being busy with traffic and crowded beaches with tourists. We enjoyed our stay as it was the shoulder season. Marina was very prompt with all our requests when things broke down in the house. Thanks Marina for hosting us.

Hi Jun, Thanks for the review. Your son left me the loveliest review in the guest book in house saying how much you all loved the house. The council has been very pro-active in managing the traffic and have installed a round about on the way into the village. Once the village is at capacity - the day trippers are stopped at this round about and they cannot enter. This last peak season was very pleasant with no issues at all regarding traffic. Fun filled holiday

Our group of girls last visited Starfish 15 years ago and the standard and quality has been well maintained. A credit to the owner Marina who was responsive to all my enquiries. Great location, fantastic views, pleasant bush/beach walks.

Relaxing long weekend

We had a lovely stay at Starfish. Very comfortable house with lots of amenities. Would be good to have WIfi but otherwise this house was perfectly positioned a short walk to the beach, with lots of space.

Wonderful Holiday

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Starfish House. Marina was a great host and her house was stylish and spotless. Lovely big well equipped kitchen to cook in and a very relaxing living area to chill out in. The kids had a great time playing table tennis while we could have a drink on the deck and take in the beautiful view. Setting the alarm to watch the sunrise from the verandah is a must! Lovely comfortable beds in gorgeous bedrooms too. A few minute's walk to the beach and General Store. I used to go to Hyams Beach on holiday when I was growing up and staying at Marina's house has made me fall in love with the area all over again. I would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting Hyams. We would definitely stay again. Thanks Marina!
