Best place for our family trip.

This was the best location ever. The place was absolutely beautiful. The home was very clean and very spacious. Owners were super nice. The location is perfect for driving to Rapid City, Mount Rushmore, Deadwood, Sturgis, Spearfiah, and so much more! This is on the top of our list for places we have stayed!

This property was amazing. It was a perfect location between everything we wanted to do - and then to have a great place to come back and relax. The owners were available if anything was needed - but we didn't need a thing. Their dog Willy was a big hit with our kids and of course now want a dog! :) Highly recommend.

Clean Rural Home.

We stayed to visit all the nearby parks, so we didn’t actually spend much time on the property, but we had a great stay. Best stocked property I’ve stayed in. Very clean, as others have mentioned it is the downstairs unit but owners are quiet and very friendly. The place itself is quite large and comfortable. I would recommend. I included pics of the view out back of the cows, loved them.

It’s perfectly located—just 3 miles from the off-road trailhead, with a gas station and a great grocery store close by. The home was exceptionally clean and clearly well cared for. The owners were incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.One of the highlights was the view—overlooking a wide, peaceful meadow where we spotted deer, watched a variety of birds, and even heard coyotes in the distance at night. The hospitality and attention to detail made this a truly relaxing and memorable experience. We would absolutely stay here again.

The place to stay in western SD!

The property was absolutely perfect for our vacation. It is centrally located between Rapid City, Sturgis, and the national and state parks. The property being in a rural setting was exactly what we wanted, and the rental part of the house had everything we expected and more! It was very comfortable, the beds were really nice and 2 full baths was very nice! And the owners were awesome and helpful! I highly recommend this rental!

Great property

Great house, extremely clean and comfortable. The beds were way above average, we especially appreciated the comfort select bed. We had events in Rapid City and this was an excellent and convenient location for us. Owners were very nice and attentive to our needs. Beautiful surroundings, enjoyed watching multiple deer feed one morning.

Very Private, very nice place to stay.

Lovely place to stay for western SD vacation. Easy access to Black Hill and Badlands attractions. Very quiet and private accommodation. Extremely comfortable inside, well stocked home (cooking basics, plenty of towels for hot tubbing, games, laundry). I would highly recommend this vacation rental. Clear instructions from host made stay very easy, had to call about one small item and they answered and got me the information I needed right away. My family really enjoyed the hot tub after long days of exploring the black hills.

Great Time in SD

Traveled to the area to visit family and do touristy things. This was a great location for both! Nice accommodations! All the kitchen appliances/dishware you could need. Peaceful setting! A couple of bummers—towels had a lot of hairs all over them and were musty and some dishes were dirty. Otherwise the place was fully stocked!

Black Hills Base Camp

We absolutely loved this basement rental property! It was very clean & the perfect space for our family to eat dinner and wind down each day on vacation! Kitchen was very well stocked, outside patio was amazing for hanging out! Two of the three King beds were very comfortable! Would absolutely recommend to friends or family! Our daughter loved their dog (they they let you know in the listing is on site) as well. She was actually sad when we left him.

Was a wonderful place to stay. We were pleasantly surprised, with renting a basement rental we knew what we were renting but was even more pleased with it once we got there and stayed. Nice clean and fresh area. Beautiful views. Nice and quiet and we all got great nights rest and loved walking out the back of a morning with our coffee to enjoy the views. Lonnie and Theresa were very accommodating for anything we needed. We didn’t need much but the few things we requested they took care of. Highly recommend this place and icing on the cake was Willie🐶

Great home away from home with amazing views

The photos on this listing do not exaggerate! The floor plan is spacious and includes all the amenities: dishes, pots, pans, full-sized fridge, hot tub, outdoor seating! The hot tub was clean and well maintained. The views are beautiful and it was great for star gazing at night. Willy the dog was friendly and a nice addition. I only wish it were closer to Mount Rushmore and the Badlands, but it was worth the extra time for this great set up.

Nice house in Quiet area

It’s a very nice home stocked with everything you need. You are in the basement of the home and the owner lives in the upstairs. We did think we were getting the whole house when we booked. But the basement is very roomy and the owners are super nice!

Surprise....owners live upstairs!

I want to start by saying I've stayed in VRBO rentals all over the US and have never had a bad experience or left a negative review. The fact that the owners of the property live upstairs (this rental is only the basement portion of the house) became a real issue during our stay. My husband and I, along with our 5 month old were looking for a relaxing place to meet up with my mom and grandma to spend a week together. The location of this property was exactly what we were looking for.... too bad it wasn't mentioned in the property description that this IS NOT the entire house, rather it's the basement of the owners home. As you can imagine, with any basement it is extremely loud when people and dogs are moving around upstairs, which they were constantly. It would start at about 5am and sometimes go until 11 or 12 in the morning. Our poor baby would get woken up at night and during her daytime naps by heavy footsteps and dogs running around upstairs. Speaking of dogs, there were 4 very nice dogs that were ALWAYS around. They would bark and "greet" you when you went anywhere. They would also sit outside our screen door and whine to be let in. Again, very nice dogs, just be prepared to have them around all the time. From where you park it is approx. a 30 yard trek down a gravel path to the entrance of the unit, which is quite hike to carry all of your luggage and food. Our biggest issue was the fact that it was false advertising. This is NOT an entire house like advertised and the owners do not live in a "completely separate unit", it is connected to the basement by several adjoining doors. The property was very clean and well appointed but we were all happy to be leave.

Enjoyed our time in this quiet neighborhood

The rental was as described. The openness, quietness and vacation feel was wonderful. It was a plus to have the hosts so close as when we needed something they were very quick to respond and help. It was very clean and well stocked. We cooked meals there and we found everything we needed....with a little help. One of the things we did miss was a table to eat at (there is a bar with some basic stools but it isn't terribly conducive to sitting for anything but a quick meal) and play games at. There is a nice table outside but that is not always an option to use because of weather or time of day. We would stay there again when we are in the area. Thanks for sharing your home.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Very cozy home. Description was spot on. Perfect location for us to go to Deadwood-Sturgis-Rapid City or anywhere in between. We would definitely stay here again if it's available during our vacation. Hosts were awesome. Provided excellent travel info for local venues and anything we needed from the butcher to a good motorcycle ride through Spearfish Canyon. Very private and peaceful play to get away. Willie (the dog) was a bonus for all of us. Helped with us missing our own dogs. Thanks Mr and Mrs Larson Would give y'all a 10 out of 10. Thanks for a wonderful vacation. See y'all in 2025!!!

Fun in the Black Hills

Enjoyed staying at this lovely home. Close to all the hiking we wanted to do and enjoyed beautiful sun rises every morning. Our dog loved playing with theirs and would stay here if we visit the area again

Nice place

The basement of this house we rented was very nice. It looked all very new and updated. There was an issue with the shower that was taken care of promptly. One drawback was it was inconvenient to haul our luggage, etc across the path - even with the wagon they provided. The location was not great for us, but that was not their fault. It was ours for waiting so long. The hosts were very nice and great people! And we loved the dogs too.

Great view and quiet

This place was so nice to stay at. The owners were very helpful if any questions were asked and we loved playing with the dogs. We have an almost two year old and 13 year old and 16 year old and they all loved it. The place was well equipped with basic needs for anything you forget and now has a hot tub right outside on patio. Great place to stay. Wish all of them were as nice as this place. The view is absolutely breathtaking. It is a little out of rapid city down a few dirt roads but the peace made it even better to stay. Enjoyed the tourism then came home to a nice quiet evening to wind down.

Total Perfection

We chose this area based on the proximity to the things we wanted to visit. It was out in open spaces with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It was the best place for us to relax after a long day with our boys each having their own spaces, which is so much better than a hotel room. The host was extremely nice and the dogs were a welcome bonus. We hope to visit again one day!
