Awesome bunk house right in the middle of all the major tourist spots in the black hills

Very clean cabin with a very comfortable bed to relax in after a day of touring, Kids loved the loft and the goats and rabbits that surround this place Would definitely recommend this place

Property has so much to offer!

The cabin was perfect for our family of 4 (just make sure the stairs to the loft work for you)! The property is wonderful, and so many fun surprises. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great Experience!

Check-in process was very easy, cabin was very clean and pleasantly surprised with the number of amenities included. Kids loved the loft area. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway!

Black Hills Getaway

Our stay was great. Location was central to many attractions. Cabin had everything we needed. Clean and comfortable. Owners were great, and the fire pit was a nice bonus. If we vacation out that way again, we will stay here again.

Perfect cabin near everything

We thoroughly enjoyed our cabin stay. It was close enough to all the good sites Deadwood Mount Rushmore Crazy Horse Memorial, and Custer State Park. It was clean and beautiful and private. Next time we come out we will definitely stay again.

Perfect location getaway

Al & Sarah are great hosts, providing more than expected from any rental. The quality was well above any place we have ever stayed. Great place for active couple or young family. Beautiful views and great location. 10/10 would recommend.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable! It was great to be able to watch tv in the evening! To no fault of the owner, we had unwanted visitors such as stink bugs and flies inside the cabin! We also enjoyed seeing the goats come to visit us. Had problem checking in as Vrbo sent us emai stating owner had a message but Vrbo app showed no message. We got owner’s number from a neighbor next to our cabin!

Entertaining & relaxing

Has everything you need

Beautiful place to stay, very clean and all the condiments you need. Even eggs and coffee. Great central location and will stay again and recommend to my friends. Oh yeah great DVD movie selection and options on the smart tv.

This was a big hit with my kids as they loved the loft and the spiral stairs to get to it. I appreciated hiw thoughtfully furnished everything was. The kitchen had all of the furnishings necessary to prepare a large breakfast. The hosts were excellent at communicating, and they cleanly strive to show hospitality. We will stay here again. Campfire Cabins is proudly owned by Albert & Sarah Sutton. We grew up in the Black Hills. We were high school sweethearts and married after graduation. We then moved to Rapid City for work. 25 years and 6 children later we had the opportunity to purchase land and move back to the Black Hills. We soon realized how much we had missed the beauty and serenity of the local area.

We decided to turn our property into an organic hobby farm with a large greenhouse, chickens, ducks & turkeys, milking goats, and a handful of beef cows. We also decided to build cabins near our home to share with other families wanting to experience all the Black Hills have to offer. With 2 children still at home, we own and operate the cabins as family business. We look forward to getting to know you and be an added blessing to your vacation experience!

We believe family is important, and we want to give your family a memorable vacation!
We know how stressful it can be on everyone stuck in a car all day. Once you get here there is plenty of room for your kiddos to run around, play ball, and have a water fight on the front lawn while you take a breather and unpack. There are toys, games, books, and movies for them to use. Grab a drink and have a seat on the front porch and just enjoy their energy and happiness :)

Our cabins have a full-sized kitchen for you to prepare and cook snacks & meals. There is a small dining table inside each cabin and picnic tables and chairs outside for you to sit around and enjoy the togetherness of a meal and conversation.

With 6 children of our own, we know how expensive travel can be! Vacations don't have to be costly or "flashy". Kids will remember the TIME and EXPERIENCES you give them. They will remember bottle feeding calves up in the Sutton's barn and playing with the baby rabbits. They will remember the days you spent hiking, boating, or ATVing with them outdoors. They will remember the other kids they met at the campfire and the smores! They will remember playing soccer, beanbags, or flashlight tag with those same new friends while you get a chance to relax around the campfire and visit with other families from around the country. Want to know which trails are the best? Ask the other grandparents & parents who have already hiked/rode them! What is the best scenic drive? Is the pontoon boat or ATV rental worth it? Where are the best restaurants? Everyone is willing to help you out & share their experiences.

We (Al & Sarah) live on the property and are always available to answer your questions. Feel free to call or message us anytime! We are down at the campfire most nights, so come down and introduce yourselves! Smores are on us!!
