We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday in Barnes. The home’s very well equipped kitchen provided everything we needed. This retreat is cozy, comfortable, and feels like home. The deer feeding in the woods nearby were an extra bonus.

House was well stocked with everything you could need from spices cooking utensils games kayaks outdoor games grill crockpot beach towels etc. Sleeping layout was perfect for 3 families

Middle Eau Claire Lake paradise

We really loved our stay. The cabin is gorgeous, spacious, and comfortable, and the kitchen is well-stocked and easy to cook for a group. The beach, the jet ski, the Rave and the location generally were excellent. We'll be back next summer!

Perfect getaway

This is the perfect up north getaway. About as good as you can find. Our only issue was finding out about swimmers itch after booking and arriving at the cabin, with little ones that like to swim we will book at another lake next time.

Enjoyed the home. The house was clean and well equipped. Plenty of room for the whole family to have their own spaces. Enjoyed having a nice yard for the kids, a fire pit, kayaks, and paddleboard. Enjoyed exploring the lake.

Beautiful property, quality built cabin

Spent a long weekend here with my family. The lake home - it's much better than what I picture as a cabin - was outstanding. The property is beautiful, with some nice back roads to run and walk on, did a day trip to amnicon State Park which was very close and very beautiful as well. Gem of a property, owners were very responsive, kind. Main bedroom with king was on the main floor, so good for my parents; my family and I stayed in thr basement which was very clean and comfy

Beautiful home, dock removed while we were using it!

The home is beautiful and well appointed. Everything you could ever need inside the house and a very comfortable bed. We never went downstairs, as we had everything we needed on the main floor. Why two stars? 1. It took several emails to Evolve and finally I had to make a lengthily phone call directly to obtain the information we needed to know how to get into the house. Evolve kept telling me to refer to emails THAT HAD NEVER BEEN SENT TO ME. We had to idea what they were talking about until I insisted they send me the emailed, while on the phone, they claimed they had sent. Very frustrating! 2. We considered renting a pontoon, based on comments on the site. We got two different prices, then decided we really didn’t need a pontoon, because the house has a huge lakefront dock. It says so in the title of the description and pictures verified we has the dock to ourselves. All we planned to do was sit on the dock and cast, chat and relax, then start a fire to roast marshmallows. 3. On the morning of our second day, a crew of men arrived while I was in the shower. TO MY HORROR, THEY WERE THERE TO REMOVE THE DOCK! I IMMEDIATELY TEXTED THE OWNER, WHO SAID HE WOULD ASK THEM TO LEAVE THE MAIN PLATFORM. THE CREW TOOK DOWN THE ENTIRE DOCK! WE NOT ONLY LOST THE DOCK, WE LOST THE VIEW, BECAUSE THEY LEFT ALL THE METAL FRAME RIGHT IN THE LAKE SIGHTLINE! If we HAD rented a pontoon, we would have been on the lake early to catch fish….We would have been STRANDED on the lake! The owner’s excuse was that he didn’t know they were coming, YOU RENTED YOUR HOME, WITH THE NUMBER-ONE AMENITY IN THE TITLE, YET YOU DIDN’T KNOW THEY WERE GOING TO REMOVE THE DOCK, AFTER WE MESSAGED OUR INTEREST IN RENTING A PONTOON? IT WAS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO HONOR YOUR DESCRIPTION, BUT YOU DID NOT KNOW? 4. There is NO fire pit. We looked everywhere and never found it, unless maybe it was under the dock structure that blocked our lake view. There isn’t even a bench or chairs we could have sat on to at least, be close to the water after the dock was ripped out. 5. We are owned compensation. 6. Because this is an EVOLVE third party rental, we are very doubtful we will ever get compensation for our ruined vacation. They have very bad reviews, and after going over the legal mess they provide, it looks like the few people who finally got some compensation for ruined vacations only got CREDIT for another EVOLVE rental. 7. Our vacation was ruined!

The right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. - We apologize for these impacts on your stay, as we were not contacted regarding the scheduling of the docks' removal - We contacted the owner of the crew and he stated that they spoke to your husband, who said it was okay to remove the dock - The fire pit is on the shoreline by the lake and would have been inaccessible once the dock was removed - We hope that the financial compensation we provided to you had helped to lighten these impacts on your experience during your stay - We will continue to strive to provide a great experience for all of our future guests!

Beautiful relaxing spot!

This was our second stay at this beautiful home on Middle Eau Claire Lake and it does not disappoint. The home is spacious, comfortable, and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The lake and the beach are spectacular! We enjoyed cooking in the luxurious kitchen, playing cards on the deck, and swimming/fishing in the lake. We have already booked for next year!

Very nice home on Middle Eau Claire lake

Clean, well appointed home and garage. Liked having laundry availability, kayaks, fire pit, large flat yard for the kids, nice porch and grill. One bedroom up and two down worked well for our family and children. Clear lake for swimming and boating. Also used the very nice Barnes town park for kids playground and pickleball courts. Enjoyed our stay and the beautiful clear starry skies at night!

The lakefront property has beautiful sunsets. The lake is crystal clear. Numerous white tail deer roam the heavily wooded lot. Most importantly the home is well appointed, nicely decorated and well maintained. We will definitely try to stay again when in the area.

Beautiful house or just setting well appointed home very comfortable because you’re bad enough to be comfortable with a party of six or more cozy with just the two of us excellent kitchen comfortable beds, comfortable room gorgeous and quiet lakeside. Beautiful home perfectly set up for my family of 4 and my parents to enjoy a relaxing vacation at the lake. Warm, inviting home with amenities galore. A few short steps/stairs to the dock and fire pit. Water trampoline was a hit with my 5 and 7 year old girls along with the TV/entertainment "kids area" downstairs. Meticulously clean with all the comforts of my own home. Very relaxing, stress-free vacation. We look forward to visiting again soon!!

Family Getaway
