Perfect Stay!

Loved Our Stay!!!

We absolutely enjoyed our recent stay at the Cottage On Bear Creek. It is so nice to sit outside either on the porch or on the recliners and take in the view. Watching and listening to the birds at the feeders is relaxing in itself.The sunrises are beautiful too. The cottage is well furnished and the hosts area pleasure to talk with. It is a very nice place and we will be back!

Eclipse Viewing

We had a great time. We came for the solar eclipse, and saw awesome wildflowers too. My wife enjoyed petting the donkey they have on site. This is great property with very considerate owners who live on site. We’ll be back!

Very clean, comfortable country cottage

Finally got away for a long weekend. Very happy with the cottage, as it is quiet, clean and comfortable. Great outside seating and lounging areas perfect to relax and enjoy the great views. Lots of mature trees, wildlife. Owners on site are extremely nice and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for a nice, relaxing weekend!

Just Precious

We loved our time at the cottage and still can't believe we found Precious the mini donkey. The setting was so peaceful and the cottage is so cozy. Barb and Rich are the perfect hosts and we really enjoyed having Spirit and Finn as company. We can't wait to return.

Amazing Cabin

If we could give this cabin more than a 5* rating we would. This amazing hidden gem is so much more than the pictures described. Rich and Barb were amazing hosts, had literally everything we needed and we enjoyed getting to know them. The animals were an added touch, along with the porches, the creek, and the wonderful walks down the road. We look forward to returning again someday!

Anniversary Vacation

My wife and I really enjoyed the quiet stay here. The cottage is the perfect size for couples staying for any duration of time. The views from the back porch are perfect for watching deer and hummingbirds. We enjoyed petting the goats and the friendly horse! The drive into downtown Fredericksburg is short and there is easy access to many local wineries in the surrounding area. We can't wait to go back for another quiet retreat! The owners live close by and we enjoyed their friendship as they welcomed us to their cottage. We absolutely loved it!

A little piece of Heaven

Two 7th grade friends reconnecting and catching up on the last 50 years! This was the PERFECT place for us to spend hours talking and enjoying the peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Close enough to town, yet far enough away. Everything you could possibly want or need was provided. The views were so special and seeing the animals and wildflowers was great. A true country experience. Cannot WAIT to go back!

PERFECT VACATION!

This was our second year to stay at this property. The hosts go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome and your stay is as comfortable as possible. The cottage feels just like a home away from home! It is wonderfully furnished and always very clean. The location is absolutely perfect! The cottage is just a short drive from downtown Fredericksburg. It allows you to be close enough to the restaurants and shops but yet still get the country experience. Coming from the big city this little cottage is situated away from the hustle and bustle of town and has two beautiful porches and chairs to sit and watch the sun rise and set. You can't ask for a better property and better hosts! We are already making plans to stay again next year!

Wonderful Cottage and Property

Cottage was perfect for our girls getaway. It was close enough to Fredericksburg for shopping and dining, yet far enough out for quiet. The cottage itself was exactly as pictured, clean, comfortable, well stocked, firm beds, hot shower, and wifi. Barb and Rich were very hospitable and respectful. 10 out of 10 would rent again.

Peaceful Setting

This little cottage on the prairie... peaceful, clean, and just what we needed. Getting to visit with the goats & donkey is really what made us book this place- animals always win out with us. Beautiful location, sweet hosts... wish it had an oven since we like to cook, but we made it work. Highly recommend for others to stay.

Great Cabin

I was very impressed with this cabin. It’s small but not too small. It was perfect for our group. The backyard views were awesome! Barb and her husband were kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Better then home

Truthfully, my rating for The Cottage is 14/10. Every need you can imagine is supplied in the cottage. And your awesome hosts....... they are a 15/10. If the cottage comes anywhere close to filling your home away from home needs, don't pass it up.

Wonderful location and cottage in the Hill Country

My daughter and I had a great time in this cozy cottage/cabin. It is beautifully decorated and very well maintained and had comfy beds. We loved sitting on the porches drinking our coffee in the morning watching the birds and other wildlife. The sunset from the front porch was also fabulous. Lovely place to unwind and take in the beautiful landscape. Barb and Rich were excellent hosts and we felt very secure staying there. They had a bottle of wine and a fresh loaf of breakfast bread for us to enjoy. You won't be disappointed staying there and we plan to enjoy it again soon. Like other reviewers, I would say this is one of the better B&Bs in Fred. :)

The perfect place

This rental was absolutely perfect! From the beautiful cottage, peaceful property and hosts that treat you like family you can’t go wrong staying here. The cottage was better than the pictures showed. It tells the story of family that loves their home and wants to share it with those lucky enough stay here. We loved the hearing about all the animals on the property and bonus for me some are rescues, the adorable art work from the kids and a binder filled with their story. We loved our stay here and can’t wait to come back!
