Wake up each morning at Ocean Sands 908 to water and white sandy beaches everywhere as far as the eye can see in beautiful Madeira Beach. It’s hard to imagine a more perfect vacation setting on the Gulf of Mexico. Engulf your senses when you peek out to the panoramic views that will take your breath away in your Gulf front condo. High on the ninth floor, your condo boasts large windows, a spacious balcony, and a complementary coastal decor to make you feel like you have been truly swept away to your own personal oasis.

There’s a two-week minimum stay required at Ocean Sands 908 with a Saturday arrival in season, but with everything there is to do and see around this incredible area, you’ll need every one of those days and then some to take in all the attractions.

Ride the elevator up to your air-conditioned condo in the sky and step into a spacious living room that opens onto a covered balcony overlooking the water. You’ll spend many an hour breathing in the salty sea breezes and watching dolphins cavort in the turquoise waters below. Your living room features a sofa sleeper, loveseat, and two armchairs situated so everyone can watch the flat-screen TV with cable and a DVD player. You also have free Wi-Fi so you can stay in touch with friends back home and post photos to social media. You’ll have plenty of shots of you playing in the turquoise waters of the Gulf that you’ll want to share!

Your Ocean Sands community is filled with fun things for you to do. There’s a heated pool, in-ground hot tub, shuffleboard, and easy beach access. Everything is within steps of the Gulf. You are also within easy walking distance of interesting shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. Just a short distance down the coast you’ll find John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk where you can fish, shop, visit bars, go on a sunset dolphin cruise, and dine on some of the best seafood you’ll find anywhere. You can serve your guests around the dining room table that seats four. If more place settings are needed, you can set two additional people up at the nearby breakfast bar.

The unit was great The View was great the management at the condos was unbelievably unprofessional

The management at the condo harassed everybody staying there every person you talk to is going through the same thing they harass everybody staying there they lock people in the pool every night at 11 the key fobs don't work after 11 older people being forced to jump the fence to get out of the pool younger people can climb the fence to get out but still it should never be locked at 11 there should be a way to get out of the pool they harass everybody about parking spots they give you a parking spot to park in and then somebody shows up that owns that spot and then they start harassing you for parking there moving you all around it's just ridiculous also the manager of the complex actually ask my wife to put back a seashell she picked up off of the ground that's how crazy the manager is at .that complex it's a shame that the management at that Condo Association is ruining the building would never stay there again if it was free for that reason.

Upgrading Required

Potential renters beware. I recently rented this vacation beach property through VRBO and the unit was run down and dirty which was not apparent by the pictures represented on their internet site. The vinyl floor in the entry area and kitchen was worn, dirty, and had holes in it. The majority of the fluorescent kitchen lights did not work because they were old and worn out and a kitchen cabinet door was broken and repaired improperly. The dining room and living room rug was stained and dirty. The living room chairs and sofas were stained, dirty, and discolored. Two out of the four master bathroom ceiling lights did not work. The master bedroom king size bed frame was broken which caused the bed to sag tremendously in the middle. And worst of all we found bugs in the bedsheets the first morning when making the bed in the morning. I do not live in a such a despicable environment at home and I certainly don’t expect to do so in a vacation rental property where a very large sum of money was paid.

When VRBO was contacted they were able to fix the lights in the master bathroom and replace the bedframe. But all of the other issues required additional repairing/replacement/cleaning after we vacated the unit.

VRBO offered to refund approximately 13% of the total amount we paid for the unit but only if I agreed to sign what is actually a Non-Disclosure Document disguised with a title of “Refund Agreement and General Release Form”.

A “Quid Pro Quo” arrangement. VRBO will provide a nominal refund for our total silence on the condition and issues we encountered on this property they rented to us.

We are saddened to see that this did not happen during your stay, and we deeply apologize. We are glad to hear that our maintenance team was able to assist you with the replacement of the lightbulbs and the installation of a new bed frame. We are in the process of having the kitchen remodeled and the furnishings will be replaced. The carpets will be replaced as well. As we do understand your reluctance to sign any disclosures, it was not our attempt to have you retract your experience but to simply request that the monetary components of the agreement not be discussed. The least we can do is provide you with some consolation for the troubles and when you have time, we would love to hear back from you. Thank you for your feedback and although we are well aware that we let you down, we hope that you will give us the opportunity to make amends.

Not happy

Only one key fob. Fob gets you in & out of the pool, pool bathroom & beach. If anyone wants to come down late, they can’t get in or out without that fob. The Wi-fi password they gave us was wrong. Took 3 days for US to figure it out. No help from ANY of the contacts here. Lot of lights burns out. 1 burner on the stove doesn’t work. Stove is from the early 70’s. Rest of the places is too. No salt & pepper, coffee filters, paper plates, dishwasher soap, hand soap etc. that most places have a little on site to get stared with.

I’ve stayed at much better places in this building.

While addressing your concerns, we apologize for the miscommunication in regards to the WiFi password. We know that can be an extremely annoying situation. As far as the maintenance goes, we have rectified the conditions that were at large and are remorseful. We are sympathetic towards the handling of the fob key but have acknowledged that there was only one to key available. In regards to the minimal supplies that are given out, there should have been 1 full dish soap in terms of kitchen supplies and 1 hand soap in the need of bath supplies. We understand your frustrations and would like to extend our sincerest apologies once again. We appreciate your feedback and honesty.

The Management Company Vacation Rental Pros is Incompetent

The unit is spacious and in a good location. The balcony is comfortable and the sunsets are fantastic. The unit is dated and could use some upgrades and a good couch cleaning. For next to nothing, the owners could supply pool towels (as all other rentals do) and stock the kitchen with workable kitchen tools from the dollar store. We had to buy a colander but left it. There isn't enough cutlery, no dish rack or a workable corkscrew (little things that could be remedied inexpensively). It was not nearly as well stocked or maintained as all other VRBO units we've rented. Would stay at this property again but not this unit.

Management company is awful. We arrived at the office. 3 hours after check-in time and were told we couldn't get the keys for another 40 min. because the inspector hadn't returned them (3.5 hrs after check-in). This was unacceptable so we were finally given the "master" key told 2nd set would be delivered that evening or the next morning. The next day, I called the office 4 times, left messages and sent 3 e-mails inquiring about the keys. On our 4th day, we finally received an e-mail telling us a message had been left advising us that we could pick up the keys at their office. The phone in the unit didn't have voicemail and we advised in all documentation that we wouldn't have a cell phone and to contact us by e-mail or on the unit phone. (I returned home to Toronto to 2 phone messages regarding the keys...not likely to get those messages.) After all this, management expected us to be inconvenienced and get the keys at their office. Since it was the incompetence of the management company that prevented us from getting both sets of keys at check-in, they should have been delivered. We finally got the 2nd set late on the 4th day after having spent a great amount of our vacation time trying to contact someone. A few days later, the bathroom light bulb burned out. As advised in the contract e-mail, we e-mailed maintenance that we required it to be repaired so we could use the bathroom. I sent 3 e-mails, called 3 times but no replies. Finally, after 3 days, we were told someone would come that day. At check-out no one even asked about our stay. They just don't care. The owners should seriously reconsider using this management company. We've rented through VRBO numerous times and have never had any negative experiences until this rental and company. After this experience, we will never rent any property from Vacation Rental Pros again.

Weather was fantastic, condo needs new appliances, the fridge quit on us, therefore causing us to loose food that was purchased after we arrived, it was replaced while we were there, the stove needs updated.
