About Vacasa, VT - Vermont Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Corporate owned vs Privately Owned

As the previous reviews stated the property was in need of some upgrades. It was also in serious need of some maintenance. We were greeted by a helpful cleaning staff but it went down hill from there. We started to get settled in and noticed the previously mentioned needed upgrades. We have been fortunate to stay in other "homes" the last few years and have grown accustom to the accommodations. This property was more of a college dorm that an home. That being said, for a college dorm it was fine, but not for our family vacation. Our family made the best of the property and extremely cold weather. We lit a fire to help heat the residence due to drafty windows. The fireplace flue did not close which did not help keep the limited heat in. The sky light in the living room also leaked dripping on the coffee table as we enjoyed the fire with wood we had to supply. We awoke the next morning to a cold room and no Mr. Coffee pot or slow cooker as advertised. After 4 placed calls to the management company over three days we finally received a call back stating they were there at the post inspection but new appliances would be dropped off. They were never received and the property manager was never heard from again. On the third morning we were greeted to mouse dropping on the counter who had helped them selves to our bread. We understand that these things can happen especially in Vermont. Thankfully it was not until later that we noticed many more dropping around the kitchen in drawers, upper and lower cabinets. As nice as the 800 number help line personnel and cleaning staff were, I wish I could same more for the property except its a nice frat house.

Owner's Response: We are sorry to read about this experience. We are getting the mice under control and will advise the owner of the comments regarding the desire for upgrades to be done. Thank you!

The whole place felt very run down.

 • 1 of 5

Many amenities were either very old or broken or both. The property seemed like it was excellent 20 years ago, but is badly in need of maintenance and repairs. Very close to other cabins and has no view to speak of. Hard to find property at night.

The place is old but we still had a great time

 • 4 of 5

There's no way around it, the place is really old and could therefore use some updates for appearance purposes. However, it still has everything you need to enjoy your weekend, and the price is good. We cooked a lot and used the Jacuzzi several times. The location is nice, these's a market 5 minutes away and a 'Shaws' 15min away if need more grocery shopping. There were also plenty of towels and toiletries. We would come back.
