Summary:
Saltaire Cottages is proud to offer this pet friendly (for a fee), dream ocean front vacation home with amazing ocean views and comfort! This home is ideal for large family reunions or gathering friends! Enjoy private beach access and unobstructed ocean views. Swim in 2 nearby community pools, hit the fitness center to workout, play tennis, pickleball or basketball. Relax in the ocean view hot tub, watch movies in the theater room and enjoy a game of pool with the family. What else could you ask for?!

This home has been completely renovated with a new kitchen, new tile floors throughout, new master shower, completely repainted interior and new outdoor furniture!

The Space:
Level 1:
MBR (K) with handicap-friendly bath (wide doors, grab bars by the toilet and shower, seat in the shower); two BRs (2T, 2BS); full bath; theater room with surround sound; rec room with wet bar, full-sized refrigerator, pool table and TV; hot tub; private walkway to beach.

Level 2:
Four MBRs (K, K, Q, 2Duo); den with large screen TV; half bath; decks; covered entry porch.

Level 3:
MBR (K) with whirlpool; half bath; well equipped kitchen; great room; dining for 20; open decks.

Elevator

The Neighborhood:
Access some of the largest, most beautiful beaches in Ocean Hill and enjoy close proximity to Historic Corolla, including Whalehead and Currituck Beach Lighthouse. Ocean Hill is a beautiful and laid back community but still close to local attractions and great restaurants, there is something nearby that everyone in your party!

For a one of a kind OBX experience, drive a few minutes down the road to Corolla Wild Horse Tours and take an open-air safari-style tour to spot the Corolla wild horses. For something a little more daring, check out North Beach Watersports for a spin on the water or Corolla Adventure Park where the daredevils in your family can climb over 60 different obstacle courses and ride 8 zip lines. And of course, you can’t stay in Corolla without visiting the Currituck Beach Lighthouse!

For great dining, check out Uncle Ikes and Corolla Pizza & Deli. With so many awesome activities to enjoy!

The neighborhood is good for walking and biking to local attractions but will need a car to visit other activities in the area.

This property had serious hygiene issues. If you have young kids or vulnerable individuals (elderly or sick) We strongly recommend to avoid this property. Upon our arrival the trashes from previous guest was not removed and the house was not cleaned. We had to spend few hours just to clean the house so it will be safe for the kids. Flies are everywhere in the house. The location of this property was great and the view is absolutely amazing. However due to poor hygiene condition we do not recommend this property. Will not return

Family Time

We were fortunate to have had all our children and grandchildren for an idyllic stay at this place. Right ON the beach...it was terrific!Will definitely be doing this again.The host was super attentive to a small issue we had with the hot tub,

Right on the beach

Great house right on the beach. The pool table got a lot of use by the men. The teens used the ice cold theater room.

Great beach house

Spacious beach house. Loved the hot tub and ocean views. Wish the house would have been better stocked with essential cleaning type products like paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, something to clean the counters with.

Corolla house

GM, We checked out a day early. The location of the house was A+. Having professionally laundered sheets were also very nice. If I may suggest a few things before your next guests. Ants throughout house, mainly in kitchen/ counters and floors. Stairs and main room Door on first floor doesn’t lock Outside shower doesn’t work Outside foot spout broken No screens on windows and some don’t open Several toilets broken and some move around The house was not very clean and floors were filthy when we checked in The lower front entrance covered with sand and 2 filthy chairs sitting at entrance when we arrived No ice maker Freezer handle comes off when opening Broken draws on bins in refrigerator with sharp corners Beach chairs rusted and broken Entire 1 st floor smells like mold, especially the media room TV in 1 st Fl king room doesn’t work Garbage was completely full in all cans It was obvious that there wasn’t a walk through before we arrived. This house truly needs attention and I thought I would share my observations. The houses in the area are clearly more updated. We loved the location Thank you Pat

Wonderful house, perfect location, responsive owners = unforgettable vacation

Our vacation was perfect. The house is right on the beach -- can't get better than that! The hosts are super friendly and helpful -- when we needed anything at all, they responded immediately and made sure we were taken care of. The kitchen is modern and well stocked; a great place for people to come together to cook or schmooze. The house was very clean, well decorated and comfortable. We appreciated the beach chairs; so nice to just grab one on the way down to the water. The movie theater was a huge bonus! The elevator came in handy for an older family member who struggles with steps. I am so grateful that we got to stay here, and I would absolutely vacation here again. I can't recommend Saltaire enough. A million thanks to the hosts; your hospitality was above and beyond. You made it possible for our family to make precious memories against the most beautiful backdrop.

Perfect beach vacation

Home was well appointed. Clean, nice furniture, bathrooms and bedding. Amazing views. Kitchen had everything we needed. Theater room was a tad musty but would expect this from carpeted basement room. Communication was excellent every step of the way. Go ahead and book with confidence!!

Comfortable and great location!

Overall we loved our stay. The house is clean and comfortable for the size of our group with an unbeatable location and access to the beach. The pool table was great fun and we used the theater room often. The kitchen was well stocked and the two dishwashers came in handy! No garbage disposal though. The elevator was great for bring up groceries and for my mother in law to get around. The only complaints would be that it wasn’t completely ready for us by the check in time. There is no private pool although it was mentioned in the reviews so it must have been there at some point. We originally booked the property thinking we had a private pool but by the time we realized we didn’t, it was too late to try and find another property. it ended up not being a big deal since we were ocean front. We did try to use the community pool on our last day but we were never given any pool passes or parking passes and we were almost not allowed to use it but the manager of the pool let us use it anyway thankfully.

Beautiful Home - Best Beach Access in the Vicinity!!!

Beautiful home, well appointed, very nice renovation on the top floor, very comfortable and inviting. Stunning views of the ocean from multiple decks on the back of the house. The elevator is a huge bonus for anyone with mobility issues or even just for carrying luggage and groceries. Very easy to keep a family entertained without leaving - pool table, hot tub, swimming pool, movie room, and of course the beach. Access to the beach was the best of any of the surrounding properties with far fewer steps to negotiate and a foot wash to keep the sand out of the house. Beach chairs, umbrellas, and some pool floats were provided. The kitchen was well stocked as far as pots, pans, dishes, etc. We didn’t find the exercise room with equipment advertised on the VRBO site. As for the cons, the house really needs AT LEAST twice the number of bath towels. There was only ONE kitchen towel. The supplies provided are reasonable for guests that live close enough to drive and just bring along the necessary things that aren’t supplied. That is harder for guests that are flying in. For example, it would be nice to have hair dryers and a big pile of beach towels available. It would also be nice to have things like spices, condiments, laundry detergent, fabric softener, dishwasher tabs, etc. In other homes we have stayed in, guests would leave these types of things for the next guests to use, replenishing the items as needed. They were not cleaned out between sets of guests. The owner should consider adding a guest book for guests to sign and leave information about the wonderful discoveries they’ve found for the next guests to read. This is a great house that could easily be a spectacular one to match its incredible location. We all loved this house and would stay here again in a heartbeat. We were lucky to have found it for our vacation!

Great home in great location

Really nice home. Great location and great amenities. At this point I think the house can use a little updating, but that should not be a deterrent to anyone. Hopefully the owners are thinking about sprucing the place up. If they do that, it can be a spectacular property.

Family Vacation

This was the 11th year at OBX with my family. The house and location were by far the best we’ve stayed at and would definitely again book the house again for future vacations. The privacy of the property, access to the beach, the decor of the house and the amenities were great.

Extremely happy experience!

Extremely beautiful and clean house! Well stocked kitchen with utensils and dishes. Plenty of room for 25+ family and friends gathering. Location was amazing. Theater room was a great way to keep little ones entertained at night. (2 people had accidents in Theater room on steps, steps are hard to see when walking down due to color of carpet and lighting being on bottom of step not top.) Pool is not heated but was still a great place to lay around. Hot tub was a nice retreat. Gate on 2nd story balcony was broken so we tried not to use it as an exit to pool area. Pool table was recovered and put back together while we were there and the group enjoyed it a lot. The overflow refrigerator on the bottom Level was great for drinks and large leftover storage. 2 dishwashers really came in handy!!! The house had newer washer and dryer that had to be used daily due to the limited amount of towels available but that was not too bad. Water pressure was good and hot water was always available. Beds in the King rooms were very good! Mattress in Queen size room had to be removed and put in living room due to no supports on bed frame. I contacted the management about it but I never received a response. A frame bunk beds were intended for children only. The full size mattresses in them were horrible to sleep on. This house was near perfect! Great views from the balconies and 3rd floor. Watched dolphins every morning in the ocean. This house could use the I-Robot vacuum systems to collect the sand that quickly accumulated in every room. ***There were automated messages that I received in regards to directions for arrival and departure but the emails and text messages that I sent were never answered or responded to. That was aggravating.

Perfect family escape

We had 5 young families in this space with children ages 1 year to 7years. 7 kids, 10 adults. Still plenty of space. The location is AMAZING! Beach at your backyard, pool, hot tub. Top floor is fully renovated and has essentially panoramic views of the ocean. Location is perfect for those seeking Carolla and just a short trip to duck. This place is a gem!

Great Family Thanksgiving Time

Upon arrival we found the house clean and ready for move in. It was especially important with the pandemic and reassuring to find the house well prepared. Being ocean front was wonderful with the spectacular view. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Many Thanks!

I’d stay again

The location cannot be beat! The house is showing a good bit of wear and needs a lot of work and the kitchen needs a good cleaning and organizing. These were minor thing to be right on the water, which was amazing.

Great location

My family and I had a great time at this property. You can swim in the pool, easily access the beach, and there is plenty to do in the area. Every morning we watched the wild horses pass by on the beach from the 3rd floor balcony. Having an elevator is very helpful. We noticed that there was trash on the top floor balcony with a water bottle that had cigarettes in it. And the only other thing was that the shower curtain rod in bathroom on the ground floor was obviously broken, luckily it didn’t fall on anyone. Overall, we had a really great time and thought the property was great!

Location Location Location

On the whole we really enjoyed our stay at Corolla and having a house right on the beach made it that more special. Ideal in som many ways. With 8 Bedrooms, and baths and plenty of social space including a media room, the amenities were great. Even the elevator which wasn't a prerequisite came in handy for my parents who currently needed one. Some minor details like available beach towels, some beach gear like chairs and umbrellas rolled into the price. On peculiar omission was a disposal which made meals and sink harder to manage. Overall the owners were superb and any maintenance items were resolved immediately. It was a great vacation only made better by being longer next time.
