About Sue Power
Escapee from the corporate life, business owner, mother & traveller. Jacks House was our home until 2011 so the location, town, wineries and restaurants are well known & I'd be delighted to answer any questions you may have. We enjoy meeting wonderful folk from around the globe, though sometimes we're not fortunate enough to meet or guests in person (I like to give my guests ownership of the space while in residence) at least corresponding via email / phone so I feel I've helped make their holiday or short break a great experience. Life's pleasures for me are family & friends, food, wine, books, cooking, live theatre, markets, bike riding & lap swimming with my teenage son, and time out walking with my partner. Its a privilege to play a part in your holiday, we look forward to welcoming you to Clare.

Amazing time in Clare
What a fantastic place Jacks house is!! Very large and lots of room for everyone. I took my fur baby who loved all the space in the yard and was welcomed with open arms. Can’t wait to return for another weekend away! Thank you Sue you made our stay perfect
Lovely place for a family holiday
Place was beautifully presented and had everything we needed for our stay, including crockery and pantry essentials, yummy breakfast provisions and very comfy beds. Thanks Sue for making us feel welcome.
Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Comfortable king size bed with beautiful linen. Very clean home.
We were able to take our two toy poodles and felt very relaxed as the entire garden is safely fenced in. Unfortunately it rained throughout the entire time of our stay but one could enjoy a lovely area outside complete with couches, chairs and barbecue facilities if the weather was fine. The house is within walking distance to the Main Street where there are some great restaurants. (Particularly the Indian restaurant) The fridge is stocked with breakfast items and the pantry has a selection of cereals. All in all Jack's House has everything one needs to enjoy a perfect stay. We highly recommend it.
Jacks house was lovely, well appointed, close to Main Street, central location.
All three beds super comfortable and warm. Breakfast supplies very generous. Bike hire for reisling trail about 6 houses away. Overall house has everything you need for your stay
Thank you Louise for your lovely review of Jacks House, so glad you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to welcoming you again, cheers Sue
Comfortable country charm
Our family of four enjoyed our two night stay. Well located to the town centre, generous breakfast provisions, clean and warm. We loved the country charm, it was quiet (except for the sound of birds) and the owners were very helpful with information and checkin. We don’t have pets so can’t comment on this.
Very nice welcoming place
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, very clean and tidy, were able to bring our well behaved dogs and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.

Consider exploring further afield Martiindale Hall & Mintaro Maze are 20 minutes by car with cellar doors and restaurants in between.

The Clare Valley boasts more than 30 cellar doors, some operating out of stone cottages, heritage buildings, state-of-the art structures and farm sheds. Many of the buildings capture breathtaking views, are huddled next to century old churches, or are surrounded by sweeping lawns. Spend an afternoon visiting a collection of cellar door outlets, taking time to try the wines, read the stories and experience the winemaking processes. It is not uncommon for a visitor to meet the winemaker first hand at many of the wineries, and learn how the wine was created. We always recommend your first stop be the Clare Valley Wine, Food & Tourism Center the staff & volunteers are brilliant and can provide up to date information on events as well as cellar door opening days & times. Or why not pop in 5-7 pm on Friday Nights for Happy Hour and chat to the Winemakers whilst enjoying a glass of their wine, featuring a different winery each week. There are also local produce tastings available.
Jacks House and the Clare Valley offers the perfect escape for singles, couples or families,
