Perfect weekend cottage

We had a great stay at Frank’s cottage! We spent the weekend with the fire on, walking around the beautiful property, seeing the animals and had a game of table tennis. Great location - close to other southern highlands towns while still feeling very rural. Would highly recommend!

Family weekend.

Our family enjoyed staying at Morton Park Rural Retreat. The grounds and the animals were a big hit and the warm fire made the bunkhouse very cosy.

Peaceful beauty

We loved staying here. It was beautiful and peaceful, and we really enjoyed the fireplace, roasting marshmallows in the rain. The pictures don't do the place justice. We went to say hello to the animals and feed the pig our veggie scraps on the way out.

Fantastic Weekend Away

What a wonderful experience! Everything about this property was fantastic, the games room was a hit with the teenagers, the house was warm, cosy and relaxing. Frank and his family were so lovely and helped us to have a really cool farm experience with all his gorgeous animals. The location of the property was just spectacular. Thanks for having us we would absolutely come back again.

Wonderful family friendly farmstay at a cosy farmhouse

We stayed at the property for three nights with our 5 year old and 2 year old. The cottage was fantastic and had everything we needed. It was private, had a massive backyard with verandah, and fire-pit, and was about 5-10 min walk to the farm animals (horses, alpacas, chickens (lots of fresh eggs!), pig, dogs and a cat), and games room (which had a pool table, table-tennis set, gym equipment, musical instruments). The hosts were really lovely and accomodating, and let the kids use their play-set and trampoline, which the kids loved. The groundskeeper- Michael was extremely friendly and helpful. We were all sad to leave and will definitely be back again!!!

Perfect stay

Our family group of 5 teens plus adults loved this place - the youngest commented that she wanted to live here and that it was "soooo cool". I was a little uncertain whether the animals would appeal, but everyone loved spending time with the horses, alpacas, chickens and farm cat. Millie the pig was also a hit when she deigned to come over. Those who walked down to the rim of the gorge thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a fabulous weekend to do a technology detox and relax before one teen's HSC exams. And so easy to get to... 10 minutes from the highway, but in the middle of nowhere.

We loved our stay

This stay was a great place for kids especially. We have four young boys, so it was great for them to be able to make fires, see the farm animals, and we couldn’t get them out of the games room! They also loved the loft area for the bedrooms. Only thing for us was that the recycle bin out the back on the porch wasnt emptied from previous guests, so we had no room to put our recycle rubbish while sitting out the back, and there was also a glass bottle left behind at the fireplace that could have been dangerous for our kids. Other then that, we had great communication from Frank, and it was a great stay, and we would happily return and recommend!

Cosy cottage and enjoyed feeding the animals

We were a group of 7 adults doing the southern highlands and south coast trip from Sydney. We had a great time staying overnight in the cosy cottage, especially with the fireplace (with firewood supplied) and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. It was raining on the day we arrived so we didn't explore the surroundings. We did have lovely weather the next morning and Renelee, the kids and their cat gave us the tour around the farm, showing us how to feed the horses, alpacas, pig and chickens. Some of my family were visiting from overseas and they had so much fun, it was a very memorable stay.

Quiet escape less than 2 hours from Sydney

We were very unlucky with the weather, but the cottage is quiet, private, and well-appointed with modern kitchen and HD Foxtel as well as a range of games, etc. A combustion stove and airconditioner help with the elements, and the games room is a big space useful for those rainy days! Moss Vale is under 15mins away and has everything you could need in terms of groceries, takeaway, etc. Hosts Frank and Renelee were super responsive to questions, and my teenagers enjoyed being "off grid" for a few days. Thanks Frank & Renelee and best wishes for 2023.

Terrible rat poison on the property damp and smells of urine and smoke

Terrible, I would never rent this place as it’s unsafe and doesn’t cater for guests with pets or caravans! It’s a cute cottage that lacks care and attention. It needs money spent on it to be oh&s approved however that won’t change the managers behavior as a single women traveling on her own - be careful booking here

We loved everything about our stay at Morton Park. The cottage was even better in person than the photos online. So cozy but still enough room for 9 people and 2 dogs. The games room was a hit with our teenagers - pool, table tennis, weights, boxing, microphones and a drum kit! We also loved feeding the animals and our bush walk. We also enjoyed poking around nearby Moss Vale. We were only there for 2 nights, but felt like a real holiday, with so much to do, but also lovely nature to relax in.Frank and his family were very helpful and welcoming. We will be back.

Peaceful Getaway

We loved our one night here thank you! Such a peaceful spot for a getawatly, perfect for our friends catch up. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen and the BBQ was put to good use on the large back deck. We enjoyed both the fireplace and firepit as ways to keep warm.The animals were also a highlight and we were lucky enough to be given farm fresh eggs for breakfast.Both Frank and the farm manager Michael were friendly and easy to deal with.Thanks again!

Lovely Stay

We had a lovely time at the Morton Park Rural Treat. The cottage is very nice and such peaceful surroundings looking out at nature. Amazing farm, amazing hosts, amazing accommodation

The photos don't do this place justice. The back deck overlooking a huge yard is stunning and THE place to sit out and have a family meal. There's even an outdoor heater by the table to keep you cozy. There are so many sleeping options within the cottage, and there are new stairs up to the loft making it easier for kiddos. My kids had a fab time in the loft playing make-believe and making forts with the blankets over the walkway. The farm itself is incredible. And the animals are SO friendly. My kids loved gathering eggs every morning, and seeing the wild mobs of kangaroos in the paddocks at dawn/dusk. We also fed the alpacas, horses, pig, chickens which was a huge hit for everyone!The games room is also a great place to hide out when the weather isn't perfect. We spent time in here during some rainy bits, and even for our little kids, we were able to entertain everyone. The hosts were the best part, though. They were so incredibly friendly and hospitable. And their daughter was a similar age to ours, so the girls played together every day.

Feeling Refreshed!

Big thank you for our chilled out time at Morton Park. It was exactly what we needed as an escape from the city. Our party of two adults and two older teens soaked up the tranquility of the cabin set amongst the trees. Days were spent roaming the property, hanging out in the 'shed' and visiting National Parks - Fitzroy Falls and Morton National Park in Bundanoon. Nights were fire pit, bbq on deck and watching movies by the inside pot fire. If you are looking for an escape that slows you down, MP is a go-go. Frank, Renelee and the family are lovely and it was awesome to cruise around the paddocks with the Alpacas and discover the quirky aspects of the property. Hello double decker bus!!!

Another awesome stay!

Fantastic hosts, location, facilities. Our group of 4 visited for a 2nd time at Morton Park hosted by Frank and his wonderful family. Our stay at the cabin was top class, added with spending time with everyone and Frank's family & friends at the famous 'Man Cave'. Cant recommend this spot enough and we will definitely be back again! 6 stars 🌟

It is a very good quaint little house in a lovely quiet location

It was perfect for us to stay as we had a 70 th birthday party not far away. There is a games room near the main homestead which is a close walk from where we were staying, it was a shame we didn’t have time to use it .
