About Dan Mancini
We have lived part time in Hawaii for the past 27 years and know the Island intimately and its lifestyle. Because of our vast experience with the Big Island, we chose this location for our home.
Dan Mancini purchased this House in 2016
Why Dan Mancini chose Milolii
Because we know the Island so well, we took into consideration safe Ocean access, weather, water quality and space away from the "touristy areas" so that our guests could have a true, unique Hawaiian experience. Additionally, our home is located midway between Kona and the resort areas, as well as the Volcano and Puna regions. This cuts down on long drive times during your stay on the Island, going out and back each day.
What makes this House unique
Milolii' is one of the few affordable areas that one can live on the water on the Island. Because of the very limited places, this area is not overcrowded nor the property so expensive that the average vacationer is not able to afford a nightly stay. That is why we are offering such a spectacular stay for a very reasonable nightly rate.

a view that can't be described / and hump back whales
first and foremost this house is so close to the water the ocean spray actually collects on the screen doors in the evening. The only sounds in the evening are the waves crashing on the rocks. clear nights are a show all their own the stars are vibrant and endless. my thanks to the owners for allowing me and my wife this opportunity to relax and enjoy this home. Alot is said about the road to Milolii I believe it is over exaggerated. Use common sense stay on your side of the road and you will have no problem.
Great House & Awesome Location!
We absolutely loved Dan & Mindy's house on the ocean! Just the right size for me and my husband! Everything we could possibly need was provided for our use. We followed Dan's instructions and shopped before arrival.
We snorkeled from the nearby entry point and saw many varieties of fish and coral. We saw many small pods of spinner dolphins from our chairs on the lanai!
We had a relaxing rejuvenating 5 nights in this paradise!
The road in was feared but not so in reality. It was very enthralling just driving from one climate zone to another on the 1700 ft descent!
We ventured out to Volcano Park and to Hilo and the Botanical Gardens one day! Another day we 4-wheeled to Green Sand Beach! That was the highlight of our trip! We had Milolii Beach Park mostly to ourselves on week days!
Just a beautiful place to stay in a very well equipped and comfortable home!
Thank you Dan & Mindy! Mahalo and Aloha!
Beautiful life-giving location
Wonderful retreat location right on the water. Had the opportunity to fish from shore and to witness a couple of groups of whales parading by putting on a show. We were there during the lunar eclipse which was spectacular.
The house has everything you need and has sliding glass doors from every room that faces the water. If you want to reflect on the beauty of God's creation, it doesn't get much better than this.
If you want privacy and awe inspiring beauty, this is it. The house is simple, clean, and well equipped. Don’t expect any glitz. We loved it. Sat overlooking the water for hours every day. Cooked beautiful meals and ate overlooking the water. Slept with the sound of waves. Exactly what we wanted. Loved it. Thanks for a great week.
Another day in paradise
The house was simply amazing, right on the water and you are able to hear the ocean all day & night long! There is an access point to some of the best snorkeling on the island, about a 2 minute walk away. You can climb on the rocks to get a better view of the view but would not suggest entering the water this way. The house is clean with everything you will need to make your stay as comfy as possible
Peaceful, private getaway with responsive owners
Our stay in Miloli'i was wonderful. The house was in great condition, spotless and RIGHT on the water. One can, and I did, throw a kumquat from the bed into the sea. It's that close. The Kona winds were blowing for most of our visit, sending huge waves pounding on the rock which made for dramatic background noise and great sleeping. They calmed down for the last couple of days which allowed us to enjoy the excellent snorkeling just off the house. We were even treated to a few Humpback whales only 100 feet off the shore on our last day.
Honomalino beach is very close and worth a few visits as you'll probably have it to yourself.
The drive from the main road to the house is long and quite curvy. We enjoyed it, as it provides fantastic views, but nervous/tentative drivers might find it challenging (that goes for the Big Island in general, actually).
The owners were communicative and very pleasant both before and during our stay. Overall I highly recommend this location and property.
Milolii is one of the only affordable water front addresses to live on the kona side of the Big Island. The homes are normally very expensive in the kona and Kohala areas.
