Cabin was clean, but had terrible skunk odor inside.

  • 3 of 5

The accommodations were clean, the view was nice, and the porch was great. The overwhelming smell of skunk inside the cabin was a severe problem. We managed to deal with it by leaving windows open and constantly running box fans to exchange the inside air. I'm fairly confident that a skunk sprayed under the house. It would have been courteous had the owners contacted us regarding this issue so we could have attempted to secure other accommodations. Once we arrived it was too late. We made the best of it and stayed outside a lot.

Perfect Getaway for a Week or Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is perfect for a couple or several. It was clean and smelled great. All you need in amenities! Sits up on a hill with a great view and wildlife came calling! Close to the golf course with great trails for walking or running! Beautiful drive to town! We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Thanks for being great hosts!!

House was dirty, mainly the floors. Had rotten broccoli in veggie drawer of fridge that been there a long time. Had a bad smell the minute we opened the door. The guest room queen bunk bed is to big for that small room , couldn’t open closet door for bed being in front of it, will not say there again.

Owner's Response: I am so sorry this happened. We did refund your money and offered to do whatever we could to take care of the situation. We are sorry for your inconvenience. Ruidoso is known for having a big skunk population and being right next to the national forest means we are battling the situation all the time. We do our best to keep the smell out of the house.

Can’t wait to return

  • 5 of 5

Our family has rented condos or cabins for years and this is by far the best one. Beautiful views with comfortable and spacious living area. A real treat to have the coffee and water waiting for us. Look forward to returning.

Christmas in Ruidoso

  • 5 of 5

All the comforts of home, while away from home.

My family spent 7 nights over the Christmas holiday with our family of 5. We had planned as soon as we got there to go out and find a Christmas tree but when arrived found a beautifully decorated home already decked out with Christmas cheer! Plenty of linens and high quality thread count sheets. The beds are so very comfortable and the place was super warm and cozy. Deer visited daily in the front and back yard. Deck is perfect for a glass of wine while watching the sun go down! My dog was not familiar with the wood floors so stayed in the living room carpet the whole time! I’m sorry for the dog hair we left on it.I would have vacuumed if there was one!

Thank you for sharing the beautiful cabin with my family! We will definitely be back!!! My family practically had to drag me away.

Warmest Regards,

Matzonkai Family
