Golton in the Gap is a modern, architecturally designed home in the heart of Halls Gap. This beautifully appointed home built in 2016, accommodates up to eight guests in three spacious bedrooms, and large open living area. Golton in the Gap is the perfect setting for a memorable getaway with family, friends or loved ones.

Your complete comfort has been considered with a north facing aspect, wood heater, split system heating and cooling in all bedrooms and living area, and ensuite to master bedroom. The modern well appointed kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, induction cooktop, full family sized refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and stone benchtops. The luxurious bathroom and ensuite each incorporate a large walk-in shower and stone vanities, with the bathroom featuring a freestanding bath. Free wifi is provided for guests.

Golton in the Gap invites relaxation with stunning views of the Mt William and Wonderland Ranges. Step out from the living area to the expansive deck to enjoy alfresco dining, a morning coffee with the local cockatoos for company, or to unwind at the end of the day with a glass of wine as the sun sets on the surrounding mountains.

Take some time before bed to step outside and gaze up to the sky. As your eyes adjust to the darkness, you will be greeted with an endless sky filled with twinkling stars. Can you see the Milky Way? What a great way to fully unwind and relax at the days end.

To assist guests requiring access for mobility needs, a ramp extends from where you park your car, into the house. Doorways have extra width, and the showers are walk-in and spacious.

When you're ready to explore, Golton in the Gap is located just a leisurely stroll from the cafes, restaurants and shops in Halls Gap, and is centrally located for the many walking tracks within the Grampians National Park, where you can see native wildlife including kangaroos, emus, cockatoos and kookaburras. Experience Aboriginal culture at Brambuk Cultural Centre and then view Aboriginal Rock Art sites, the largest number in Southern Australia.

Halls Gap and the Grampians are a delight for food lovers. There are a number of award winning wineries in the area, and be sure to sample local olives and olive oil.

Golton in the Gap has received three Victorian Tourism Awards, recognising "Excellence in Tourism". We received the Gold Award for Self-Contained Accommodation in Victoria, in both 2021 and 2018, while in 2017, Silver was received in the New Tourism Business category. Golton in the Gap has also been featured on the Channel 9 Postcards television program, as the featured accommodation for a stay in Halls Gap.

Beautiful, Fantastic Luxury Accommodation at the heart of Grampians. Family thoroughly enjoyed the time both in-doors (@ Golton in the Gap) and out-doors. The photos of the house are great but it was probably better than we expected. Two large bathrooms, really comfy beds with great linen. A lovely kichen and living area. There were kangaroos close by which was a treat to see. Halls gap has access to really wonderful walks and although it’s a small place there are some great places for breakfast.

Totally Enjoyable Experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Golton in the Gap. The propertly was a home away from home and in a great location to stroll into town. The house itself was extremely comfortable with first class furnishings and fittings, and is a perfect layout for two couples allowing for plently of privacy. We highly recommend this property. Home away from home

I must say, the photos are stunning but it's worth the stay & admiration from your own eyes. Prime location - a nice stroll to the shops and walking trails. Roslyn & Darren are kind also (we had a big day out at the beach) and allowed us an extra few hours of sleep before checking out! If I stay within halls gap THIS will be my choice of homes away from home. Thanks once again & looking forward to the next relaxing adventure!

My whole family really enjoyed our staying in Grampians! House with Huge opening kitchen that absolutely great for us! we enjoyed our cooking together ~ New and fully equipped environment! Beautiful house. Amazing beds!

Our stay at Golton was excellent. The house is new, modern, very well equipped and immaculately clean. The king sized beds were exceptionally comfortable and perfect for a sleep in. The wood fire was a great novelty for an escape from city apartment life. Wifi is apparently in the works and would have been a great addition. Some small toiletries would also be handy but are in no way a deal breaker.

Grampians luxury at Golton in the Gap

Our stay at Golton in the Gap was perfect from start to finish. From the first contact, Roslyn and Daryl were excellent and prompt communicators. They even gave me tips for the few pieces of kitchen equipment I would need to cook our Christmas dinner. The digital guidebook was comprehensive, and so useful throughout our stay. We loved the location just a short walk from town (and the emus en route who we had to visit just to farewell before we left!). The views from the deck were sensational, and the cockatoos and kookaburras joined us frequently when we ate our meals or relaxed with a drink and a book. Inside the home is spacious with a clever layout and very good finishes. Because we were staying for Christmas, it also sparkled with extra little Christmas touches and treats. The welcome gifts were so generous! The kitchen was well supplied with all the essentials, and my husband loved the Nespresso machine. We barely used the air conditioning units because we had perfect weather and the home is so well insulated. The crisp white sheets were high quality and the firm mattress helped us sleep well after spending our mornings hiking and exploring the Grampians. The hot water was plentiful and the water pressure was great. Special mention to the luxurious bath! We can’t wait to return. Do not hesistate – Golton in the Gap is a must stay!

Fantastic stay at Golton in the Gap!

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Golton in the Gap and two friends (including a visitor from Germany) joined us there for the weekend. We had a fantastic time there, hiking in the national park by day and enjoying the comfort of the house by night. The house was a delight to enter on our arrival - clean, spacious and so well appointed. The photos are very accurate in terms of the house itself, but don't really do justice to the lovely view of Boronia Peak which can be seen from the table on the deck outside. It was quite hot while we were there and we loved sitting outside in the evening in the cool of the shade provided by the mountains behind the house. Our German friend was thrilled to spot kangaroos and many different types of birds (including some very cheeky sulphur-crested cockatoos) while sitting out there too. We cooked our meals in the house every day and found the cooking facilities (stove top, oven, microwave and outdoor bbq) to be excellent. The house is a comfortable 10 minutes or so walk to the main part of town where there is a small, but well stocked, supermarket, cafes and restaurants. The beds were all very comfortable, as were the living and dining areas in the house and the location is very quiet, with the exception of the wonderful sounds of birds! The internet was easy to connect to and was very fast and efficient. Off street parking is plentiful and easy to access. We visit the Grampians once or twice a year and are pleased to have found Golton in the Gap as we plan to stay there again on future trips.

Roslyn and Daryl live and work on our family sheep and cropping farm in the Wimmera. Halls Gap is a short drive away, and we have spent many happy and memorable days with our family visiting and exploring Halls Gap and the Grampians.

Both of us love to travel! We have enjoyed many travels in Australia and overseas. Short breaks away are always welcomed, simply for a "change in scenery". Exploring regional towns across Victoria brings new sights and experiences, usually with a stop at a bakery or 2 along the way.

We enjoy the opportunity to host visitors from near and far, and to share our "little piece of paradise" tucked away in Halls Gap.

We built this property in 2016, with the first guests welcomed in December 2016. Golton in the Gap stands out as a modern architecturally designed property, meeting the needs for a diverse range of guests.

Halls Gap and the Grampians are a favorite destination for us - great cafes and restaurants, award winning wineries and cellar doors to visit, breathtaking scenery, an abundance of hikes that always deliver spectacular views and the occasional surprise, such as an echidna strolling across the track, and so much wildlife. And ... no visit is complete without a visit to the ice-cream shop.

For those cool days and nights, a wood heater provides a cosy ambience. Ample wood is supplied for all stays.
