*** We are registered with the City of Savannah as a Short Term Vacation Rental. Jingle Bells Square Cottage - SVR-00032 ***

___________________________

*** Savannah is booming! A record number of building permits have been issued in the past 12 months. It’s hard to find a neighborhood where there isn’t a building project going on. There is currently construction in progress across from the rear of our cottage. Most of our guests spend the day out and about in Savannah, so we don’t think this project will be an inconvenience during your visit.

*** Need something larger? We have another property in the same neighborhood - 2 BR 2.5 BA.

Listing # 639895 ***

___________________________

*** Important: Our property is in a quiet residential neighborhood. Savannah has strict noise ordinances. Complaints from neighbors result in a $500 fine for the property owner.

*** The Principal Tenant must be 25 or older.

While he was the organist and music director of Savannah’s Unitarian Church, which faces onto Troup Square, the Reverend John Pierpont Jr. wrote the beloved Christmas song Jingle Bells, copyrighted in 1857. In 1985, the City of Savannah placed a plaque in Troup Square to commemorate the song and its Savannah roots.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Built in 1900, our cottage is in a quiet residential neighborhood 50 yards from Troup Square. The one bedroom, one bath property is single storey. Fully renovated in 2011, it has off-street parking for one small car and ample free street parking—no meters to feed with quarters or $7.00 daily parking permits required. Within easy walking distance of restaurants (there is one within 100 yards), the Savannah riverfront, and all of the fun and fascination of pre-Civil War historic architecture, beautiful landscaping, antique shops, etc.

About Owner

We are a nearing-retirement age couple from the New York City area with backgrounds in fine arts and restoration, an appreciation for eccentricity, and a limited amount of patience for shoveling snow - so Savannah is perfect for us.

Owner purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Owner chose Savannah

When our son was clever enough to pass up the blustery New York area where he was born and enrolled in the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) in animation in 2004 we began thinking about escaping ourselves - at least for visits. He graduated in 2008 and has moved on to other challenges but we continue to be fascinated by Savannah, one of the most magical cities in the US.

What makes this cottage unique

For short and longer term visits we have stayed in quite a few Savannah hotels and a dozen or so furnished vacation rentals, so we have a good idea of what we want to find to make us comfortable, which has guided us in renovating and furnishing this cottage.

Charming cottage with all the necessities AND a great location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, son, sister, and I stayed at the Jingle Bells Square Cottage during our first visit to Savannah from July 1-5 and we loved every minute of it. This cottage was more than the ordinary rental. It was full of character and charm, but still felt like home- so comfortable with all our basic needs provided. All the instructions were clear, including light switches that were all labeled and how to use the TV/DVD/cable. The other reviews were accurate when they describe the sofabed as very comfortable. We had never seen a sofabed like this which could be inflated like an airbed (but without those annoying ridges). Everything was so clean, kitchen had all the basic necessities (good quality kitchenware & loved the gas stove!), A/C was such a relief after a hot day of sightseeing, having the washer/dryer was so convenient. Yes, the parking spot was a bit tight, but it still worked and we felt more at ease parking in the spot than parking on the street (which had plentiful spots). The location was great also! We walked to the Krogers grocery store on our first morning for breakfast supplies. River Street was close by, as well as many great eateries. We can't wait to return to Savannah again and hope to stay at the Jingle Bells Square Cottage again! Thank you!

Charming cottage in historic Savannah

  • 5 of 5

The June weather is hot and muggy, but this lovely cottage is cool and crisp. It's such a delight to explore the city by day and return to a comfortable, clean place to rest and unwind. Thanks so much for your attention to detail!

Cozi cottage with all the amenities of home

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to Savannah. The location of Jingle Bells Cottage could not have been more perfect for our stay. Walking distance to the many sites in the historic district. We rarely used our car. The cottage was quaint, had an updated kitchen and comfortable bed. There is a sleeper sofa if you have kids. Loved having the washer/dryer. Hope to return and explore more squares and historic sites in Savannah.

Words cannot describe how nice this place is. Long story short...This is where you want to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Everything that could possibly be thought of to make for an enjoyable stay has been thought of. Example: All of the light switches have labels on them. There are instructions on how to work everything, including TV and faucets. The place was spotless. Although the parking spot is considered small I was able to back our full size Murano in leaving just enough room by the brick wall to open the driver's door keeping the front end behind the porch out of the alley. The kitchen and bathroom must have been remodeled recently. In Savannah street and Lane are next to each other and easy to confuse. Luckily the man in 517 on the next street over is very nice. The owner was very nice and followed up on details making arrival easy. We will be staying here again on our next trip to Savannah. This owner is very detail oriented. Too bad there are only 5 stars to give!

The weather is Savannah did not cooperate, but the cottage was a welcoming place to come back to.
