About this property
Sierra Vista Guest House-With Hot Tub For Stargazing-No Extra Cleaning/Pet Fees
A newly-built (just completed on 9/26/2016) guesthouse in the heart of the Old West. We also own and manage the sister property #454664. Please check out the wonderful reviews. There are no shared walls between the two properties, and they each have their own entrance.
We are located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but in reality being just minutes from downtown, this bungalow guesthouse gives you the best of both worlds.
Sit out on the large private patio and enjoy watching the quail and other wildlife, or visit with our own assortment of livestock. There is a 6-foot privacy fence around the majority of the patio. The patio also has a 22x5-foot long sitting area that is open to our pasture to the south. You can sit out, drink your coffee, and watch the sun come up. We are pet-friendly, and can even board horses for a small fee.
After you have enjoyed your day, relax around a fire in the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites. If you feel like cooking outside, there is a brand-new KitchenAide gas grill available, or you can BBQ over the fire in the fire pit.
As you enter the bungalow, you see the attention to detail. The room has a contemporary feel, with a strong accent of the industrial age. The main room is very open, with a kitchen that comes well-equipped with high-end stainless steel appliances. It has a full-size refrigerator, double-bin sink, a very nice gas cook-top, a large convection microwave, and a dishwasher . It also has a toaster oven, automatic coffee-maker, and everything you would need to cook a wonderful meal. There is a breakfast bar that seats 4 people. It adds extra counter top space, or you can enjoy your meals there.
The living area has two large couches that double as XL twin beds. Just pull off the back cushions, put the sheets on, and you are ready for bed. The linens are stored in the space below the couches. The dining room table seats 4 comfortably, and is made from an antique drafting table. There is a 40-inch television set in the living area.
The bedroom is very spacious. It has a king-size bed, a dresser with two large drawers for folded clothes, an armoire to hang clothes, and a built-in luggage rack. There is also a 40-inch television set in the bedroom.
The bathroom has a very spa-like feel, from the tile work and the stainless steel accents to the two vessel sinks and the endless counter top space. The walk-in shower is the the size of a tiny house, with lots of room to move around. This bathroom has to be experienced to be appreciated.
There is a stackable washer and dryer, as well as a separate closet to hang your clothes. Other amenities include an iron and ironing board, another portable luggage rack, and a Pack-and-Play for those with small children.
The guesthouse is climate-controlled with a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.
Check-in time is 4PM. Check-out time is 11AM. There is a $10/guest per night fee for more than two people.
If you are looking for a smaller, more intimate space, please check out our other property, 454664.

This was such a comfy spot to stay. It is clearly very well taken care of and if I find myself out that way again I would jump for this place. It’s perfect for a couple and has (relatively) good access to Big Bend without staying next to the park.
Pictures do not it justice. Gorgeous place to stay. Had everything we needed. Hot tub was fantastic. Very relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. One of the best places I have stayed at. I would highly recommend this cabin
Lisa’s place was super clean, had all we needed for cooking, comfortable, Lisa and Steve were a pleasure to meet, the goats and chickens were fun to watch, hot tub was lovely, and we were close enough to McDonald Observatory to make our activities there work. Highly recommend.
Was great! Hot tub was wonderful. Didn’t get to see many stars. It was cloudy lost of the time. Host was wonderful. We had an emergency and they tried thier best to help us out!
We loved this guest house. Had everything we needed for a great stay. Enjoyed the fresh eggs and watching the egg producers wander the barnyard. Handy to Alpine but just outside town. Handy little DG market nearby. Really enjoyed watching the stars from the hot tub.
Our stay was very pieceful if you want to leave the noisy city behind this is the perfect place to go to. Very clean loved the interior would like to have it in my home. The host was super nice . Animals were on site but you didn't even know they were there. We haven't seen so many stars in a long time it was great.we especially loved the quiet all we heard were the birds at sunset. Really a beautiful place to get away to.
Perfect stay. Lisa was wonderful. Condo was immaculate, beautifully decorated, in quiet and peaceful yet easily accessible location on the outskirts of Alpine. Perfect for our family of four with bedroom plus two couches / twin size daybeds for the kids. Hot tub very easy to use and heated upon our arrival. Highly recommend!
FANTASTIC cabin! It's beautiful, so well designed and the perfect location for exploring Alpine, Davis Mountains State Park, McDonald Observatory and Big Bend National Park. Great place for sunrise, sunset and night sky photography! We had a wonderful time & it was hard to leave. The hosts are awesome and we want to come back sometime in the spring!
Beautiful, immaculate and well appointed guest house. Outstanding proximity to everything the area has to offer. We were highly entertained by the animals and enjoyed the clean and comfortable hot tub a couple of evenings. We appreciated the fresh eggs that Lisa left for us, they were delicious! Would definitely stay again when visiting Alpine and the surrounding areas.
Great place right outside of town. Definitely recommend this place if you are going to Alpine.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Goynes
We bought the property 9 years ago, and have built everything on the property ourselves. We decided to open up our wonderful abode to others to let them enjoy it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
After our first VRBO dwelling did so well, I decided to open another one. Since we enjoy building so much, we decided to build another guesthouse here on our property. We hope that you enjoy staying in it as much as we enjoyed building it.
