Beautiful and peaceful house in the mountains

This is a well equipped, very clean house in the mountains with an indoor fireplace. Everything functions well and the host responds quickly to any questions. It was an excellent stay.

Nice Getaway

We wanted to get away for a few days and this was definitely the place. The drive is nice, the property is beautiful, and it feels like there's no one around for miles (and there probably isn't). The house was cozy and clean, and it had all of the basic amenities. Definitely would recommend.

Amazing view but property had limited supplies

The cabin was nice with amazing views but it was not very clean, plus the supplies were limited.

We communicated multiple times throughout your stay including approving your late checkout request. none of this was mentioned, only that you and your guests had a lovely time. The kitchen cupboards are full of fresh coffee,tea, seasonings, oil, etc. We use a professional cleaning company that does a thorough job of preparing the home for guests. The cleaners take pride in making sure that the cabin is cleaned upon your arrival. If you had concerns about the cleanliness, bringing it to our attention would have helped resolve the issue.We do all we can to make our homes the best possible stays, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. Cozy house with amazing views

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is cozy, the kitchen fully equipped and the fireplace in the living room adds to the overall charm. But what we liked the most was the deck and the unobstructed view of the valley / hill. We were lucky enough to get some fresh snow and we had a lot of fun sledding (on garbage bags:) down the hill behind the house. A big plus was also the very short distance (a few minutes drive) to Plattekill ski resort).

This place was really nice. Beautiful surroundings and the owner was responsive. A very good experience. We stayed to go skiing. This is a very remote place so if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s great. It was a bit more removed than we had expected. Also, If you plan to ski, you do not have access to a washer/dryer so that may be a drawback.

Just what my wife and I were looking for. Private, quiet house with a great view. Outdoor fireplace was great when it cooled down at night. A short drive to Margaretville for groceries, restaurants and other interesting shops. I'm sure we'll be back!

Excellent house and location! Very clean and well kept house and property! Diane was awesome!!

The house is very clean, well kept and in a super location! A short and beautifully scenic 15 min drive, and you could find anything your looking for in Margaretville. We will definately be returning for some winter SNOW fun!!

Perfect, cozy mountain getaway!

Check in was super easy, the location was secluded and beautiful, we enjoyed the fireplace and the fact they had things for our babies and toddler (highchair, pack n play, walker, toddler safe dishes, kids books and some toys.. we really only needed to pack clothes, and food for them!)! Only thing I missed was some throw blankets for the couch. And they don't have shampoo or conditioner, which I usually wouldn't have noticed but I happened to forget mine this time. My bad really, lol! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to a friend!

Beautiful spot in the Mountains!

We really enjoyed our stay at this quiet catskills getaway! It is 15 mins from Plattekill mountain (7.9 miles… it says somewhere it’s 3 miles but that’s “as the crow flies”). The house is well equipped and spotlessly clean! The area is quiet and rural. But that means the stars at night are amazing!!! It is at least 15 minutes to Margaretville (food shopping, Main Street and ice cream) and 15-20 mins to Roxbury (wonderful wine store and some restaurants), which for us was close enough for comfort but far enough for a quiet getaway. The property is downslopes in the back to a sweet little brook you can listen to from the deck. I just wished there was a bit of instructions regarding the fireplace- sounds common sense but we weren’t used to it and it took awhile to figure out what all the levers were for so we were able to enjoy the fire. (Firewood was available in the grocery store in Margaretville). I especially enjoyed the bottle of white wine left for us (which we enjoyed then paid it forward and got another bottle for the next guest). My only other wish was for a little more counter space or a table in the bathroom. All in all 5 stars!

Owner's Response: "Thank you for your review! For future guests, there is a welcome sheet on the back wall next to the sliding glass door. Aside from the Wifi password, there is fireplace information, plus shortcut directions to Plattekill Ski Resort that is a 3-mile drive."

Amazing

The whole experience was absolutely amazing from the house which was warm, cozy, clean, comfortable had plenty of land and the most breathe taking views. The fire pit/barbecue was perfect for those cold damp nights. Not to mention the indoor fireplace very romantic and relaxing.. My wife and I would definitely go back again! Thanks for an amazing experience.

Perfect getaway!

Everything was as described. The view from the back patio is amazing! The house is stocked with some basics, but the bottle of wine that greeted us was a very welcome gift! We recommend getting pizza and garlic knots from oakley's atleast once during your stay!! The grocery stores etc., are about 15mins drive from the property. Wifi works really well and there is no cell service😅 it was perfect!
