No notes!

This house was stunning, so clean and stocked with everything we could ever need. It was obvious that so much care and effort has been put into every detail of the house. We spent more time there than expected because it was just so nice and relaxing. We loved the fire pit and especially the deck with the view and the hot tub! There’s not one thing we could think of to make this house better! 10/10

Extra relaxing

Courage Cabin was a welcoming home in a quiet neighborhood close to West Jefferson. It was so easy to relax here we didn't want our trip to end. This cabin has definitely made our favorites list and we can't wait to visit again. The host was gracious and quick to respond. The cabin has all the amenities and info from the host that made navigating anything extra easy.

2nd Visit to Courage Cabin

I came this time for two nights with my son for a getaway while he is home from military service. Since I have already stayed at the cabin, I knew it would be great. He took the upstairs bedroom space and love having his own space during our stay. It was so nice to come back to the cabin and the hot tub after flysfishing (first day) and golfing (second day) to just relax, hang out, and cook up food at the cabin both nights. As usual, everything at the cabin was right on the money - and we enjoyed the entire time and all of the great amenities. I am sure I will be back for another visit in the future. Thanks very much!Mike

Absolutely love this place!!

This was our 5th trip to Courage Cabin along with our 2 dogs. We all love it!! You are relaxingly secluded but close enough to the wonderful towns of West Jefferson, Boone and Blowing Rock. This place has every amenity you could imagine for both humans and furry companions. Jill is very helpful and easy to communicate with. We will be back again!!

Loved it so much!!

We had a great time. We will be returning to this cabin. Could have stayed at the cabin the whole time. It was well stocked and very private. We was very pleased with this cabin. They really thought of everything.

Perfect 5 Star Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very well appointed and equipped home. New hot tub was great. Location was perfect for us. (Merlefest). First class in every way. Only two drawbacks were the loft bathroom too small for an adult to shower and the nearby gang of barking dogs would be annoying if we had spent any time there during the day. But I may stay there again next year.

Thank you for the wonderful words as well as the feedback. We do understand, the neighbor's dogs do get a little riled up on occasion (usually when someone is coming or going) however they are harmless and usually settle down after just a couple of minutes. The owners, who spend a lot of time at the cabin agree, you only hear them now and then and it's not continued barking for any extended period of time. Also the upstairs shower is a little tight due to the roof line but a hand held shower hose has been added to make things easier.

Amazing View Cabin Loaded with Amenities

Can’t say enough about how relaxing our 6 night stay was. From the cozy indoors with unique decor to the kitchen stocked with everything one would need to the wonderful bath items provided to the outdoor deck with amazing views, especially the beautiful sunrises and relaxing hot tub this cabin has it all. Total privacy was provided and in the evenings it was such a joy to grill dinner on the very nice grill, enjoy a glass of wine and to relax in the hot tub after steep hikes during the day. We didn’t use the fire pit however it looked like a wonderful place to sit at night and enjoy a fire. Even though I had my kindle with me for reading I chose to read two books provided in the bookshelf while there. Location is convenient to grocery and restaurants in West Jefferson and not that far from Boone. Courage Cabin gets my highest recommendation.

Blue Ridge Bonanza

The cabin was as advertised but beyond. The view was priceless, the deck area so peaceful, a place to be alone with your thoughts. The hot tub so warm and relaxing after days spent hiking steep trails. We spent 6 nights here and loved the retreat we came back to every day. The fenced property was perfect for our two dogs. Everything one would need was supplied. Loved the decor, rustic yet elegant. The European touches and original art added a sense of warmth and comfort. Loved the large amazingly stocked kitchen. The fireplace could be so inviting however we chose not to use it as I like my rooms cool. Check in was flawless…what little communication I had was promptly answered. Fire pit looked wonderful but again we did not use. Bath products supplied were beyond expectations and reminded me of my favorite spa. Steep drive to the property but absolutely no problem. Great location to stores, Ashe County Cheese, great hiking trails and some restaurants.

45th Anniversary - Amazing Mountain Cabin

The pictures shown on VRBO were very accurate but did not do the cabin justice, Much thought was given to the interior remodel. This place is cozy, warm, and very inviting. Would recommend to everyone. We loved the deck with very comfortable seating and a perfect spot to view the gorgeous sunrises. There is a grill for cooking outside. My husband had asked for a place with a fire pit and this one did not disappoint. Kitchen had everything a cook would want and I loved the sink. The coffee bar was a special treat. The cabin was dog friendly but there was absolutely no dog odors. The cabin was spotless. If you do have a dog, it will feel spoiled here. Great location as cabin is close to West Jefferson, Blue RidgeParkway, Boone and Blowing Rock. However, this place is perfect for just being together and relaxing so do not plan in a few days for just enjoying the cabin.

What a gorgeous cabin BUT.......

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We found it on top of Mountain after short steep drive up gravel road....house on right is right next door but to be fair you do not notice it, everything seemed a million miles away for the first 30 seconds after opening door......then it started....house behind fence had dogs, ALOT of dogs. And they barked and barked and barked some was brutal ...total waste of 500 bucks much quiter at our home on Lake Norman.... the cabin was absolutely gorgeous and quaint and exactly like I would build one but listening to dogs bark and I mean over 5 endlessly.... totally spoiled a couple days, we went there to relax and ended up having to close all the windows and the doors and stay inside. I told the rental company nice lady but no offer to do anything to make up for it you would have thought they would have offered us to try it again maybe at a later date at a reduced cost but nothing.... it almost sounded like he had a kennel next door maybe it's temporary but if I was you before I would spend a week I would drive up to the mountain on my own to see if they're going at it

This is definitely a rare occurrence, we're going to blame it on the full moon / blue moon. The neighbors do have dogs, they typically will bark upon arrival then they settle down quickly. Please be sure to read all the rave reviews before letting just this one rule out what could be your perfect mountain retreat.
