This cabin is awesome. It has four floors and plenty of room for all family members. It is close to all the attractions. Our family really had a good time at this location.
NEVER GOT TO STAY - A NIGHTMARE OF 24 HOURS PRIOR WHEN THEY MUST HAVE DOUBLED BOOKED THE CABIN AND TRIED TO "MOVE" US TO AN "UPGRADE" OR THEN WERE GOING TO "BUMP" THE PEOPLE CURRENTY IN THE CABIN (was not going to happen). TOO MANY DROPPED PHONE CALLS AND LEFT US WITH A GROUP OF 10, HALF FROM OUT OF TOWN AND NO CABIN.
Trevor and Ambie were quick to respond to questions we had when we arrived. Beautiful home and perfect size for a family for friends getaway.

Will, I'm so glad you enjoyed your time at the cabin! Thank you for taking care of the home and being a great communicator. Hope to host your family and friends again in the future!
We had the best stay and will be booking again next year! The cabin is beautiful and in a great location. We spent time at both Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain, and were happy to find the amenities of Boone also nearby. A perfect mix of mountain tranquility and convenience. The cabin was clean and the host went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
We loved our stay here. It was two families, with 5 kids total. A great layout/setup for us and just a very comfortable place to be, with the perfect cabin feel! It was an easy drive back and forth to Sugar Mountain every day. And the hot tub on the deck was the best at the end of each adventure!

Say no to the place
Hot tub had a leak, was told the fireplace worked which was not the case the propane was not even hooked up( which was never resolved)The house is really outdated! The downstairs big bath tub is really gross and out dated. The pots and pans were dirty. Carpets has pet stains all over it. If you are on a budget then go for it. We spent Christmas in this cold cabin. You have been warned.
We enjoyed staying at Mills Ridge! It was a great central location to the places we went to that weekend! We had a family of 6 and extend family so a total of 5 adults and 3 and 1/2 kids who were 4 and younger. All the adult had a bed room and shared it with the kids. The loft was fun to play in for the kids but I preferred them to sleep on the same floor with the adults because they were so young. We enjoyed the house and cooked a few meals while we were there! This house is 3 stories and has quite a few steps! We enjoyed cooking smores over the fire pit one evening. The fire pit was a little close to the driveway where we parked and a little close to the edge of the property so we hung out on the porch to eat them! Overall a nice clean house with a great location!

Thank you so much for your review Mindy! So happy you enjoyed your stay with us. Please come again!
Booked this property and 3 hours before arrival host said property isn’t available due to heating. Requested a full refund and host would not give one. He didn’t even cancel the reservation but instead took my money and refused to give me a refund even though the property I booked wasn’t available. Instead he offered a different property that had steep washed out road and non working hot tub that hadn’t been serviced in years. Again requested a refund with the host over phone and through text. He hung up on me and has ignored my text for a full refund. Host is a dishonest person and liar and left my family in bad situation on our vacation. DO NOT do business with this host. As a 24 year veteran I never experienced such a disregard for service member or his family. Shameful, and deceit is this host. You have been WARNED!

STAY AWAY FROM TREVOR CHERRY AND HIS PROPERTIES
Typically when you rent a property you expect everything to be taken care of upon arrival. This could not be further from the case with this property. Upon arrival I noticed how incredibly hot it was in the house so I called to find a solution. The owner was adamant that he had two window units in the house to keep it cool which I told him was not the case, I eventually had to send him a video to believe me. He had no idea what the condition of his property was like. After making him aware he told me an AC unit would be installed the following day, the following day came and went and nothing showed up. The next day we went for a hike and returned to two AC units in the box on the pouch. I texted a picture to Trevor and he told me I needed to install them myself, I SPENT ALOT ON THIS RENTAL AND AM TOLD TO INSTALL SOMETHING TO HIS PROPERTY MYSELF. He also said he would make it right in some capacity with a pool code which never was given and when I asked for one night to be refunded he refused. This property was a joke and I would not recommend to anyone, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY.

Andrew, I apologize for the problem the window units created. During your stay, maintenance was available to install both ac units; but could not guarantee the specific time you requested. I believe having the units delivered to the property was a better option than leaving you without air. I apologize again you had a negative experience. You have my contact information; I am available if you need to talk about this further.

Needs a refresh!
The positives first- owner was prompt with communication and the cabin is in a good location- easy access to banner elk and blowing rock. You can stay in this area and have multiple hiking opportunities very close. Here’s where it falls short- it’s in terrible need of a deep cleaning and basic maintenance. The carpets are gross- lots of stains. I also think the cabin had been restocked for new guests months before we stayed- we walked thru cobwebs in almost every room when we first arrived. There was a layer of dust on everything. My daughter has asthma and I had to wash comforters before she could even use the beds. The whole cabin is lacking overhead lighting and many of the light fixtures were missing bulbs- it was so dark in the kitchen I had to move a bedside lamp to the countertop. We were hoping to grill but we’re unable to find grilling tools and the grill was very dirty. I also noticed a good amount of poison ivy on a large tree right by the cabin. I could continue to list things like this but just know the whole impression is outdated, dark, and dirty. Mill run is a beautiful little neighborhood but this cabin has been neglected. It will accommodate a lot of people but sadly staying in it didn’t feel like a treat. One more thing worth noting- ALL the sheets are polyester- ugh!! If you decide you can ignore the other stuff do yourself a favor and bring cotton sheets so you don’t sweat to death at night.

April, thank you for your honest feedback, both positive and constructive! I'm glad to hear the positives; prompt communication and good location. I strive to improve each guest's experience, and am addressing the constructive items; spring cleaning, BBQ tools and replacing linens as needed. Log cabins can certainly be darker, so additional lighting is a very good suggestion. I hope you will choose my cabin again in the future, knowing I value current and past guests' feedback and look to make improvements along the way. You are welcome back anytime, I'd love to have the opportunity to host you again!
Adequate accommodations if you are on a budget and don't require updated nice things.
Cabin was adequate for a stay in the mountains but not great. I was very outdated, had stained carpet, rips/ holes in some of the furniture/ rugs, the gas grill ran out of gas, the charcoal grill collapsed during use, the hot tub chemicals weren't balanced (we used test strips), and the lighting was poor. The owner actually called on the 2nd day so he could set up for the maintenance man to come fix an issue with the loft railing. I mentioned an issue with the mid level bathroom lights and jacuzzi but the lights seemed to work when the repairman showed up. The repairman said he'd have someone come fix the chemicals in the jacuzzi (which never happened) The next day, we had issues with the lights in the bathroom again. The property could certainly stand some tree trimming to improve the view and general updating (the TVs were super small and old too but that wasn't a huge issue for our purposes).
All that being said, it was priced lower than most other comparable cabins in the area and they allowed for my wife's therapy dog (likely allowable due to the already existing condition of the carpet). There were definitely some inconveniences but there were beds with clean sheets (the only reason I gave 3 stars on cleanliness is due to the condition of the carpet and over all feel likely due to how outdated it was), towels, and hot showers so all things considered, we had what we needed. Some of the earlier reviews mentioned how hard it was to find this place. I did not have that issue and thought that the owner was more than adequate with the directions they provided.

Our family had a wonderful trip. We were able to go out and enjoy Boone, Blowing Rock, and other areas all within a short distance of the cabin. We also enjoyed our down days relaxing at the cabin!

Great, cozy cabin in a great location! We slept 7 comfortably and probably could have slept a couple more before being too worried about sleeping arrangements. The place could definitely use some updating and repairs, but it was still very nice.
It was just a fairly short (and beautiful) drive to get to Boone, Blowing Rock, or Banner Elk from the cabin. We had a great weekend!

Not awesome
Floors were gross. Furniture was gross. Then there was the mice running through the kitchen and master bedroom. We saw 6 mice in 2 days and 3 nights. We left early because of cleanliness. Oh and TVs were silly. Saturday was 1/2 day rain out and I got to watch the masters on 1998 25” crap. You can buy a 40” new tv for $125.
The view was good. The privacy was excellent. The layout was good. The hot tub was excellent. Communication with manger was very good.
Great place for a long weekend getaway. Close to slopes and with a hot tub for apres ski, our family loved it!

3 Star Cabin, 5 Star Fun
We had a wonderful trip based around skiing - not the cabin. We simply needed a place to sleep and bring our pets which this property allowed. The gas fireplace was non-functional, bottom bedroom had no heat (two small space heaters), and there was only enough hot water for two showers. The grill, hot tub, and kitchen were as advertised. If your trip is based around your adventure this place is fune but if your vacation is centered around your time at the cabin I would avoid this property. The cabin is located at a dead end which is awesome.
The property is exactly what the ad shows. Everything we needed was there. This is a beautiful property and the owner is very nice and quick to respond. The house and proper are very well maintained and the furnishings are comfortable A+
We enjoyed our stay. Cabin was located in convenient location. to Blowing Rock and Boone. Nice size for families. The owner was very super nice. Easy booking. We will definitely stay here again.
