Cabin was super clean and had a lot of helpful extras that made the experience even better. We were able to play cards while looking at the breathtaking view. It was like we were out of the city but still had the accommodations (like fast WiFi) to make sure we were set up for success in Yellowstone. Highly recommend and would love to stay here again.

Thank you for the review. We appreciate it and that you also loved the decor.
This property was a quiet haven to return to each evening after sightseeing at Yellowstone National Park. The host was helpful and we did not need to contact them with stay concerns. The decor was definitely was over the top western decor. The bathrooms were small and we would suggest different floor/shower mats and curtains.

Thank you for staying at the Elk View, and we are happy to have shared our home-away-from-home with you. With regard to the decor, we do appreciate your opinion and suggestions. Simply put, we love OUR home and choose to decorate it with the style and personality we LOVE. Have safe travels home.
Beautiful and clean cabin with all the amenities we could need! Unfortunately we didn't see any wildlife in the fields outside our big front windows, but wildlife abounded in the surrounding areas. Luckily we're used to gravel roads, because there's a 4-mile gravel to access the cabin. The only inconvenience was having to drive our trash to a dumpster on our way out of town when the car was all packed up!

Glad you enjoyed your stay. We do recommend someone make the trash run the morning of while others are packing up and getting ready if it will be a tight space in the car. Elk are dropping calves now so they may not be in the yard as much for the next several weeks. I'm sorry you missed them but happy you experienced the abundance of wildlife on the gravel road. :)
You walk in this cabin, and it is beautiful. Amazing authenic Montana artwork. Immaculately clean. Very nice comfortable furniture, great electric fireplace, Every room was stocked, paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, tissues, hand and dish washing soap. The kitchen was stocked with every appliance or gadget you might need, also had a lot of spices. You only need food. The mountain views all around are spectacular. The large windows bring in the fantastic views. Close to Yellowstone, which we visited everyday. Even elks on the gravel road near cabin. A Yellowstone hot springs pool at the nearby campground was also great, open to public for a small fee. I give this place a 10.

Thank you so much. We appreciate the care you took with the cabin during your stay and that you love it as much as we do!! We'd love to have you back again in the future!
We had an amazing stay at this cabin. It was very clean, instructions for stay, check-in and check-out were precise. The Elk came toVisit on our first and last day which was an added bonus. The four mile drive in on the county maintained road was a little bumpy but my Rav 4 Hybrid handled it great. I would highly recommend this location for your Yellowstone visit.
The cabin was awesome! It felt like you were at home and could tip back, relax and enjoy the wildlife. The mountains in the back were gorgeous and watching the elk in the fields was fun. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Thank you so much. We enjoyed having you and would love to have you back in the future.
Great cabin outside of Gardiner Montana with a short drive to the northern entrance to Yellowstone. Cabin has everything you could need, including a beautiful collection of artwork. Communication with Tammy was great. As a bonus, we had Elk in the yard most days. Would definitely stay in the cabin again.
I loved having a cabin with space to spread out on our trip to Yellowstone. I wish we could have stayed there more nights but we had to move on to other areas!

So happy you enjoyed your stay and we would welcome you back in the future!
Our first trip to Yellowstone has been amazing and the cabin offered a really wonderful stay just outside of YNP.
Wish we could’ve stayed the full week.
Super comfortable place to stay for two couples it worked out well each having our own bathrooms.
Very nice place to stay very comfortable and at home feeling. It is a long gravel road that leads you to the house that could use some attention with gravel being leveled out better but overall it was a great place to stay stay again.
Perfect place!! One of the best cabins we have stayed. Beautiful location, fully stocked kitchen, good beds and nicely decorated house. Minutes from the Yellowstone gate and downtown, will recommend to all my friends

Thank you! We appreciate your kind words and look forward to hosting you or your friends in the future.
Very nice property with nice views and very comfortable. Perfect setup up for 2 couples with full baths off each bedroom. 3 mile gravel road to home was a bit rough and internet speed is low (15 mbps) but made it work for us. That said, was a very peaceful place to be.
The property is much larger in person, very nice and very well stocked. The views are gorgeous.

About the host
Hosted by Tammy
Owner (Wes & Ruth): My wife, Ruth, and I have been coming to Yellowstone for many years to enjoy the wildlife and our photography hobby. During a springtime adventure to Yellowstone National Park in April of 2013, we were enjoying watching the wolves and a badger in Lamar Valley. By chance we met two other people who were watching the wolves and badger as well. In talking with them (Tammy & Wayne), they had just purchased a cabin outside the north entrance to Yellowstone. We immediately became friends with them and continued to stay in touch. During the spring of May, 2015 we rented their cabin and made the decision that this is where we really wanted to be and own a cabin.
Why they chose this property
Located literately on the boundary edge of Yellowstone National Park. Just 4.5 miles, from the North Entrance to YNP at Gardiner, Montana. The cabin is located just 3.1 miles from the bridge, at Corwin Springs, on Old Yellowstone Trail South. After crossing over the Corwin Spring Bridge turn LEFT on Old Yellowstone Trail South which is a dirt road. Please note; like most other dirt roads, this road can occasionally be a rough to ride on. Therefore, we highly encourage everyone to slow down & enjoy the abundance of wildlife often spotted along the road. The Elk View Cabin (#20) is just 1 of 21 cabins. This group of cabins provides a sense of security not offered from a solitary cabin location. Once inside, you'll see the Yellowstone River, through the two large front windows, Paradise valley as it extends towards the western entrance of Yellowstone, spectacular mountains views of Absaroka-Beartooth Range, to the left, & the Gallatin Mountain Range, on the right.
Throughout the year, wildlife often roam freely along the Old Yellowstone Trail South & frequently our property as they migrate in and out of Yellowstone National Park. Occasionally, our guests are blessed to see elk, bison, mule deer, Prong Horn, Big Horn Sheep, Coyotes, Yellow Belly Marmots, Mountain Blue Birds, Meadow Larks, Western Tanagers, Swallows, Wood Peckers, and a variety of other birds all grazing just outside the cabin (Please keep in mind, all wildlife are dangerous, one should not try to feed or pet any wild animal). Although, not often seen Grizzly and Black Bears may wonder through, (especially at night).
The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms (one with a King bed, the other with 2 Queens beds, each with an “ensuite”, accommodating 6 people, a washer & dryer, spacious living/diner room area. When you first walks into the cabin, you'll notice Native American artifacts & artwork. The owners take pride, in years of collecting, and love to share their collection with each of you.
What makes this property unique
Our guests can enjoy morning coffee on the patio, while they watch the sunrise racing across the valley floor or at night watch the moon rise over the mountain top. If one is lucky enough to witness the Full moon rise over the mountain, the view is indescribable. The evening sunsets often light up the sky with a multitude of colors and then covers the night sky with celestial objects like stars, plants, and the moon. Five common constellations which are visible in a clear night sky include; the Big Dipper, Orion, the Little Dipper, Taurus the Bull and Gemini the Twins. On occasion the Milky Way is also visible. However your best chances of see the Milky Way is around 3 to 4 am.
Please note, Although the Yellowstone Rivers flows in front of the cabins located along the river, we do not encourage fishing from those river bank areas. Fishing is available from Corwin Springs, located just 3 miles from our cabin and most places along the Yellowstone River. We do advise one to check with the Ranger Station, located in Gardiner, to get the facts on fishing along the Yellowstone River or lakes throughout Montana.
The owners strive to provide quests with a 5-star vacation experience by providing the cleanest and coziest home away from home setting, as possible. Although pleasing everyone 100 percent of the time is not achievable, our goals are to make your stay unforgettable, encourage you to share your experience with your family and friends, and make your vacation plans to return very soon to Yellowstone National Park and the Elk View Cabin.
