Authentic Log Cabin: The Den

Secluded and Rustic authentic Log Cabin sits on 4 acres of peace and quiet. You will feel like you are being transported to a place back in time but with the modern conveniences of electricity and in-door plumbing. The cabin consists of an open main floor with a kitchenette, 3/4 bath and living room area. The bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed and these are nestled in the loft.
The deck over looks the praire and the bon fire pit. There are short trails for walking. The nearest house is 1/2 mile down the road. New Ulm and St Peter are short drives. This property is seasonal. The only source of heat is the wood burning stove on the main floor. There are two window AC units to keep comfortable if it is hot out.

Nice old cabin

Cool place to stay if you want to get away for a weekend. We played corn hole and had the fire pit going. The bed was nice and comfortable.

It was easy to check in, the owner is quick to reply. The Den is in a lovely setting, you would not know you were in the middle of farm country. Green, lush and very quiet. The interior is charming and very comfortable. Would stay again, love to see it in different seasons!

beautiful property and cool old cabin

We loved the property and the rustic old cabin is very cool & comfortable. So many birds to listen to in the mornings, tons of fireflies at night. Our dog loved being able to check out the walking paths with us off leash. We would love to come back another time if we’re in the area.

Meditation Retreat

We had an amazing time using the cabin as a home base for a meditation retreat! The cozy cabin was warm and welcoming, and the nature setting was absolutely perfect to relax and be in the moment. There were several beautiful spots to explore and the trees were unbelievable will absolutely be staying again!

It was what we expected in the cabin but the property was nicer and more remote than we expected which was nice. It would be a nice place to stay with a family if the kids were willing to camp outside. We would stay. There again.

Picturesque spot in the country

Happy I stayed here on my business trip, even with the drive to town. Well kept property and very cozy little cabin. Great host that takes the time to make sure everything is setup properly. Rustic and minimal amenities, but that's what I was after.

Peaceful little cabin

We loved the Den. It was blazing hot outside but very comfortable inside. My dog loved being able to run around and explore. The fireflies were amazing, we spent evenings on the back porch watching them. It was a perfect 2 day get away! Paula was a great host.

We LOVE The Den!

Our stay was awesome! We were looking for a weekend to relax, recoup, unplug, and explore. We have a 5 year old son and also brought our 9 year old nephew. The boys had a great time climbing trees, exploring the woods, looking for critters(they found a possum,evidence of bear and deer!), chasing fire flies, playing bags, and much more. It was so nice to not hear "can I watch tv" for 3 whole days! There was a bit of an issue the first night. The water smelled really strong of rotten eggs. I grew up on a well so thag didn't bother me. But in the night that smell kept waking me up. I was a bit concerned of excess of sewer gas on the air. I called Paula at about 1:30am. She called back right away and had a plumber out first thing in the morning. Her concern and responsiveness was great! The issue was resolved. The only other thing that was slightly disappointing is that the play house was not really able to be played in. There was a huge hole in the roof and looked like mildew or mold. So the boys were a little disappointed about that. But there was plenty else to do. Overall it was a great experience. The only thing the property is missing is a little fishing pond or stream! We will be back! Thank you!
