The Potting Shed en Bunya House es un alojamiento para huéspedes de nueva construcción perfecto para una escapada de fin de semana a Bowral y las tierras altas del sur de Nueva Gales del Sur. Se asoma a un hermoso huerto diseñado por el famoso diseñador de jardines australiano Paul Bangay. Todos los servicios están cubiertos para que su estadía sea tranquila y relajante. Beautiful place and great location

The Potting Shed was so perfect We had the most wonderful stay. So close to town, but in a very quiet location. The Potting Shed itself was picture perfect. Surrounded by the prettiest cottage gardens. Like something out of a magazine.

We had cockroaches in the bed ( we took photos ) the door could not be closed let alone locked as it was severely warped, so each time we left we had to put all valuables in the car, there was inadequate refuse facilities, crockery had to be washed prior to use and limited power points such that the coffee maker and toaster could not be used at the same time.

Disappointing stay

Unfortunately Bunya House wasn’t what we were anticipating for our Mother/Daughter weekend away in Bowral. We had booked The Potting Shed to stay in, which was based on reviews and how delightful it looked on the stayz website. However, the owner called to say it had been double booked and offered us Bunya House as an alternative, explaining we were getting a bargain as it was a lot more to stay in the main house than the Potting Shed. Based on this, we accepted thinking the main house would be equally as nice. Upon opening the front door we realised very quickly this wasn’t the case. You are instantly hit with an old musty smell. The house is very tired and in need of some major upgrades. The lounge room is so uninviting with old stained lounge chairs that you don’t want to sit on. The house is scattered with old family photos and furniture which just feel creepy. No soap was provided in the bathroom for washing your hands or showering. The milk that was provided for the breakfast was out of date. All of these things just contributed to an uncomfortable stay. I get that some guests may like an old guest house such as this, but when you book the Potting Shed this is a clear indicator of the type of accommodation you are looking for and Bunya House just wasn’t that. We think the owner should have explained the state of the house when she offered it to us. We felt it was dishonest as she was trying to make it sound like an upsell. On the plus side house was warm.

Dear Fran, I cannot apologise more for your experience. I am so shocked by your review and saddened that you felt unable to contact me to discuss your disappointment. My reviews for Bunya House are always 5 stars. It was a very unusual situation that The Potting Shed was booked on another platform at the same time. I thought that you would appreciate having your own rooms and rang to offer an alternative solution. I feel you have been exceptionally harsh in your review - reviews are so important small businesses. A little communication could have eased this situation. I always try my utmost for my guests. In this case it was entirely my fault that the soap wasn't there and I am so sorry by the milk's date. I had to drive to Sydney the day you checked in to pick up an unwell daughter and missed these two things. I hope you and your daughter managed to enjoy Bowral and had some highlights to your visit. Pleasant stay in bowral

We had a very pleasant time staying in Bowral, one of our fav places to stay. Our host Camilla was very helpful but we were unable to communicate with her through the Stayz message system . Camilla was very apologetic re access to the property due to working on their driveway. It wasn’t a problem for us but we appreciated her concern.

Our Stay

This property is full of character and charm. It was spotless and had everything we needed. Some bread, milk and butter was dropped to the door after our arrival which was a lovely touch. My bridesmaids and I stayed at the house the evening before my wedding - it made for some beautiful photo opportunities, especially the garden area next to the house. Thank you Camilla!

Very clean and tidy cottage

Great little cottage to stay however the beating struggled the weekend we stayed as the weather was very cold. The curtains on the main entrance door did not cover the windows for privacy, warmth or light. No coffee was provided

Dear Julie, Thank you for your review. Yes it was a wild weekend weather wise. Luckily The Potting Shed is fully insulated and has great reverse cycle heating. I am sorry you had difficulties with the curtains at the front. Guests have not previously had a problem with them. The other windows all have brand new blackout blinds. I am so sorry about the coffee. An oversight on my behalf. I wish you had let me know as I would have bought some straightaway and delivered it to you for the coffee machine. Highly recommend

Absolutely gorgeous property, well located and lovely responsive host. Our friends booked the main house for the weekend and my husband and I stayed in the potting shed as I’m pregnant and wanted some separate space. Beautifully decorated and loved the bed linen and towels too! A lovely private getaway whilst still being a stone’s throw from the main house. Would definitely book again. Thank you

Absolutely wonderful

Camillas place is stunning. Just as advertised in the photos. The cottage is small, but has everything you need for a short stay. The cottage was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches throughout. We would definitely book again. Thank you Camilla!
