Welcome to Millards Rest!

**If you are in need of additional bedrooms or just more space to spread out with your group, inquire about adding our 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom first floor unit to your rental**

This recently remodeled circa 1860 home was the childhood residence of Millard E. Tydings - famed former Maryland Senator. While retaining much of the original woodwork, architecture, and style, contemporary conveniences make this home a comfortable retreat for guests of all ages and parties of all sizes.

Occupying the 2nd and 3rd floors above my part-time home office space* on the main thoroughfare of downtown Havre de Grace, this home is ideally suited for short-term and extended stay business travelers, wedding party guests, and with the proximity to Ripken Stadium and Cedar Lane Sports Complex, an ideal accommodation choice for traveling youth sports families.

Enjoy a morning coffee or an evening libation on the front porch, or venture out to a great selection of fantastic restaurants, wine bars, and coffee shops all within a few blocks of Millard’s Rest.

Feeling a little more adventurous? Rent a boat, kayak, or paddle board from one of the many marinas or go back in time with a Susquehanna River Cruise aboard the Skipjack Martha Lewis - one of the last remaining restored skipjacks from the Chesapeake bay oyster fleet.

* Home office access (left side door) has an active video doorbell

**NEW FOR SUMMER 2021** Guests now have access to our fenced back yard and patio space featuring a propane grill, portable cooler, and outdoor dining set. Access to the back yard is through the side gate.

Millard’s Rest is the perfect blend of history, qualntness and modern. It is very well equipped and clean with close proximity to downtown Havre De Grace which is a gem in and of itself…definitely the most welcoming town to out of town guests we’ve encountered. You won’t be disappointed.

Home was in perfect location to enjoy downtown Havre de Grace. Were surprised that the entire living area was upstairs…lots of steep steps for older people to navigate!

July 4th Holiday

The house is beautiful and clean, with plenty of room for a family to enjoy. The location couldn't be better! We are very familiar with Havre de Grace, MD and live close by. The parade and fireworks are always spectacular, the parade goes right by the house, and the fireworks are just a short distance away. I would recommend this property to anyone at any time of year.

The Harbor of Grace

We stayed at this home for a wedding long weekend. The property is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and very clean. Havre de Grace is a charming town to visit and amenities are within walking distance.

Quick trip to HDG

The location is wonderful! We were able to walk the entire time we were there. There are a lot of stairs…which didn’t bother us. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds were comfortable. Overall a great place to stay!

Perfecct Location

The home is centrally located in the town. Dinners were within 2 blocks, with great food. We walked to the promanade and all about town. As stated in the descrption, there are steps to the 2nd floor, which is the main living area. Then steps to tje 3rd floor for bedroom number 3. This may be off putting for some people, but our group of senior women navigated this just fine.All rooms wereclean and comfortable. Nick was extremely responsive.Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Historic home with modern amenities!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming home nestled in a quaint and historic village. The house beautifully blends old-world character with modern comforts—everything was spotless, thoughtfully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities we needed. The location was perfect, with easy access to local shops, restaurants, and just blocks away from the water. We were in town for a golf tournament and only wish we could have stayed longer! The owner was incredibly responsive and welcoming, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend this gem to anyone visiting the area!

Perfect "Home away from home"

Excellent location for downtown Havre de Grace experience, with easy access to major roads. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there for the holidays, which allowed us to visit with our family, but also have that "getaway " feel. Thank you to our hosts!

Girls weekend!

Clean. Comfortable. Plenty of parking. Convenient to downtown. Lots of character. ONE complaint: there is NO full size oven. There is a toaster oven to bake in, sadly we brought 2 casseroles that didnt fit in it. Other than that, a beautiful weekend. We will be back!

Lovely historic home!

First and foremost, the host was exceptionally responsive. We had quite a few questions for Nick during our stay and he quickly responded (even though he was on vacation himself!). The house was very clean and tidy. The homeowners did a great job of keeping the charm while upgrading the home. My parents spent a ton of time reading on the front porch. We loved the unique downtown stores (especially the one with movie costumes) and the ice cream shop! We were there for a baseball tournament and were gone quite a bit but when we had time, we spent most of our time walking and exploring. Thank you for allowing us to rent your home!

Lovely home in an ideal location

We absolutely loved staying in this quaint historical home. We were only there at night and mornings, however it was perfect for all our needs, as we were there for a family reunion. We will be back!
