Hill Top Cottage with Chickens!

The focus of the Hill Top Cottage is nature and tranquility. Our hope is that the cottage provides you with peace and quiet and, of course, chickens!

While you're staying at the cottage, you'll have the entire hill top to yourself with nature surrounding you on almost every side but with the convenience of a small winding road right at the foot of the hill.

You'll share the property with our 13 penned in chickens who are our family pets. They're still young teenagers right now and a little bit shy but they sure are cute and love snacks!

Finally, with a massive driveway leading up to the cottage, there's more than enough room for your camper or boat.

- We're also only 10 minutes from the famous Eagle watching location of the Conowingo Dam as well as its walking trail.

- We're half an hour away from Great Wolf Lodge and Casino.

- We're half an hour away from the Fair Hill Nature Center.

- We're surrounded by various state parks with many walking trails and events happening.

- We're only an hour's drive from Baltimore and Philadelphia.

There couldn't have been a better property for our long weekend. The house was beautifully decorated and furnished. The house and grounds were impeccable and so calming. Loved the hillside morning glories. I so enjoyed feeding fruit to the chickens especially how they greeted me with contented coos. We definitely plan to return in the future.

Lovely Stay

I had a wonderful long weekend. The house was clean and had everything I needed. I loved being able to enjoy the outdoor space and it was made all the more enjoyable with the chickens. The location was perfect for the activities I wanted to do (reading, hiking, & bird watching!). I would definitely stay here again.

A perfect weekend

A lovely private house in a great area. From an easy checkin, responsive and accommodating host to an area full of day trips and hiking opportunities it was a perfect weekend getaway. The host provided a helpful binder with information about the property and surrounding area. We did take a recommendation from it and had a lovely dinner in Port Deposit. Will definitely stay here again if given the opportunity.

Our stay at the Hilltop Cottage

The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The fresh eggs were an unexpected nice touch, and the chickens were quiet and friendly. We plan to return.

Quite and relaxing stay

Our family enjoyed our stay at Hill Top. We loved how quiet the neighborhood is. Our boys loved feeding the chickens fresh fruit.

Little Getaway

My husband and I were going to be in town for an event and didn’t want to stay in a hotel room. We were able to have a house all to ourselves that was cozy, quiet, and clean. The beds were comfortable, and we loved the electric fireplace. With the owner was excellent!

Nice, private house, with chickens!

Great home base for exploring the area. Went to Philly, DC, Baltimore, The Wildwoods, and Havre de Grace. It was a very busy, hot week, so it was wonderful to have a whole house with a lot of privacy to relax in at the end of each day. The chickens were adorable (my youngest loved them) and not loud at all, in case anyone was concerned about that.

Everything We Needed

This place was accurate to the description. It was quiet & private, with easy access to local attractions. The house was very comfortable & updated. The owners provided everything we needed, right down to a jar of sugar for the coffee. It was very hot & humid this weekend, so the window A/C units worked overtime to keep up, but the room ceiling fans picked up most of the slack. I scored big points with my wife by picking this place.

Awesome spot for an eagle watching weekend!

The hill top cottage was the perfect space for an eagle watching weekend with my girlfriend’s family! The whole place was as described and very clean. It had all you needed for a stay including cookware, coffee pot, towels, games, and a washer/dryer to dry our jackets after a rainy day. The host was very responsive and kind with any questions or concerns that we had before and during the stay. We had a short power outage due to the storms in the area and the hosts were very helpful and offered to bring lanterns and candles if we needed them! Luckily it only lasted about a hour. The chickens were another plus! They loved getting a few fresh strawberries and we enjoyed the fresh eggs the host left us for breakfast one morning. This listing is only about 5-10 minutes from the Conowingo dam which is where we spent a lot of our time trying to photograph the eagles. It’s also close to North East a nice little downtown we went and walked around. Would definitely stay here again to visit Conowingo in the future, thanks to the hosts!
