Nestled among live oak trees draped with Spanish moss, and overlooking a lush landscape, this private oasis is the perfect place for your next beach vacation, golf outing, or family getaway. This single-story island retreat offers all the comforts of home just steps from the ocean.

The spacious primary bedroom, located at the back of the home, boasts a luxurious king bed, an HDTV, and has been beautifully updated with a brand new en-suite bathroom. The bathroom includes a large tiled walk-in shower, a freestanding tub, and double sink vanities. For added convenience and modern luxury, the vanity mirror is a modern frameless LED anti-fog dimmable wall-mounted mirror.

The second primary bedroom, located at the front of the home, also features a king bed, an HDTV, and a private wet bar. It is complemented by a beautifully appointed en-suite bathroom with a large tiled walk-in shower and double sink vanity.

The third bedroom is equipped with a queen bed and a comfortable sitting area, which includes a sleeper sofa and HDTV. This room also provides direct access to the private deck, making it a perfect spot for relaxation.

The fourth bedroom includes two twin beds that can be converted into a king bed for an additional fee. This room features a brand new bathroom with a modern vanity mirror and a large tiled walk-in shower. It also offers a desk, making it an ideal space for those needing to work or attend school while enjoying the island life.

The fully-stocked, gourmet kitchen is designed for cooking enthusiasts, featuring stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a convenient two-person breakfast bar. The adjacent dining area comfortably seats eight and offers beautiful views of the lagoon, creating the perfect ambiance for meals.

The home’s open floor plan, with high ceilings, seamlessly connects the kitchen and dining areas to the spacious living and family rooms. Guests can unwind in the spacious living room or enjoy a movie on the 65-inch Smart TV in the family room.

For those who need to stay connected, the home features an internet booster and wall-to-wall WiFi, ensuring smooth connections for work or school, all while enjoying the tranquility of island life.

Start your day with a coffee and peaceful lagoon views from the sprawling backyard deck which has a gas grill, ample seating, and an outdoor eating area. Enjoy a round of golf at the nearby Robert Trent Jones and George Fazio designed courses. If you want to go to the beach and avoid the crowds, this is where you want to be. Private beach access is located just at the end of the street. After a fun day at the beach, rinse off in the outdoor shower before cooling off in the pool or relaxing in the spa.

The spa can be heated (June 1st- October 1st) for an additional fee.

Great house for a family get away.

We had a wonderful time here! Short walk or bike ride to the beach. Rode our bikes to the tennis courts. The kitchen was well equipped and the floor plan of the house was great for our group of 7 adults. Would definitely rent again!

Comfortable and close to the beach

The home was very comfortable. Although an older home, it was appropriately updated to ensure it didn’t seem too outdated and the decor was nicely done to create a very pleasant atmosphere. The yard and view of lagoon was very nice. It was just a short walk to the beach (or a very short bike ride that young kids/teens will enjoy). Basketball hoop in the driveway made my son very happy and was a good activity between beach and bike rides.

The house met our needs as it had 3 large bedrooms and one smaller bed room that we did not use. The lay out of the house was a bit odd. One bed room had a sky light and wet bar in it. The master bedroom bathroom was extremely long and narrow. The closet in that room was ridiculously narrow. The only real negative is that the pool was full of leaves and the pump was clogged with leaves when we got there.

It is a 15 minute walk to the ocean across quaint bridges and canals through very tame jungle paths. The bike ride takes 2 - 3 minutes. Friendly, happy people everywhere. We spent lazy days on the cabana and loungers on the deck overlooking the pool and lagoon. We were lucky to have 8 perfect days of 70 degree weather. We even “played” basketball in the driveway just to prove we weren’t washed up yet. 😀 Very spacious and private accommodations with big flat screens in every room. The great room design was amazing with chalet windows and kitchen looking onto the changing colors of the pool at night. After evenings of jazz and sports bars, and days of golf and fishing - it was heavenly to return to the peace and tranquillity of 20 Port Tack. Unforgettable life experience!

Our grandchildren loved the pool and had fun looking for alligators in the waterway. The garbage disposal wasn’t working so we called maintenance and they replaced it that same afternoon!

The furniture and decor was beautiful and seemed mostly recently updated. We had two families with small children so having two living spaces was convenient. The pool and lagoon view were beautiful. We discovered a few days into our trip that the Dune Buggy was the best way to get to the beach. It’s free, fast, and you can load up your beach equipment in the back. If you don’t have toddlers and older grandparents with you, walking about 10 minutes to the beach is pretty easy too. We would definitely stay here again.

Great having more than one family space (place for the adults and a place for the kids). The pool was small though. But it didn’t detract from the good time.

While it is one story, it has several levels, for those with walkers or wheelchairs. We would stay there again. Fyi- if cooking bring your own pepper. There are few spices.

Disappointed with response of maintenance after several calls about a toilet that continuously ran water. House smelled musty/moldy and stayed on our clothing till we got home. Basics were lacking... no coffee filters or salt and stores closed for Thanksgiving, but we managed with a quick trip to the store the next day!

Dear Marie, Thank you for taking the time to review the house. We can understand your frustration when dealing with a running toilet. We did have our maintenance staff respond to your call almost immediately to replace the flapper on the toilet within 30 minutes. However, due to the Thanksgiving holiday, there were no plumbers available until the following Monday. While we feel that we were able to do everything in our power to rectify the situation, we do understand your frustration. All of our pre-arrival emails include a detailed list of what is provided in our rentals, this list is also online. The Department of Health does not allow for any food to be present in a rental property. We do our best to provide this information to our guests in several different locations. And, yes, when traveling on a holiday, all of the normal services may not be available. We are proud that we are able to have our associates spend holidays with their families while still providing service to our guests. Disappointed that the temperature of the swimming pool was 72 degrees. It was freezing cold. We paid extra for the house compared to other options in the area which did not include a private pool. I guess there was a way we could have called in advance to heat the pool for an added charge. Unfortunately, we missed that memo and felt for $760+ per night it was pinching pennies to have the pool at a comfortable temperature. One of the bathrooms lacked warm water. It was reported but we never received a response. Two of our guests had to share the master bathroom.

Dear Mike, Thank you for your feedback in this review. Unfortunately, in October, there are times when the pool water may not reach a desirable temperature for swimming. We are sorry if there was some miscommunication regarding the heating, but it is on the website, in our Resort app and in all of your pre-arrival information. There is considerable additional expense to the owner when the heater is turned on, especially in cooler months. We have checked our records, and the only record we have of you reaching out in regards to the water temperature in the bathroom was after you departed. We are happy to report that it was inspected shortly thereafter and it was found that each bathroom has a water temperature of 117 degrees. We are so grateful that you enjoyed your trip overall from your additional survey that was submitted. Disappointing

The house has not been maintained. Lots of tlc needed. Pool was not in good condition, - bottom needs paint badly. The moss on the trees over the pool itself just constantly falling into the water. the deck and entire outside area was very dirty. we spent 1-2 hrs each morning cleaning pool and deck We purchased over 400 dollars in groceries only for the frig to break on the 2nd day. By the next afternoon a replacement frig was brought in and placed right in the living room. Turned it on and by next morning discovered it was also not working. Now, we receive a third one and it worked but was very beat up-dented, dirty, etc. TV had no cable whatsoever and the one in the living room didn't work. I could go on and on but its too late. Our much needed vacation was ruined!!!!

Dear Nancy, We are truly sorry to hear of the issues that you experienced while you were here. However, we do feel that we were able to mitigate as many of the issues as possible that you listed in your review. We understand that when appliances break while you are on vacation it can be an inconvenience. That is why you were reimbursed $400 for the lost food items. When you called about the moss and leaves falling into the pool every day, we asked the pool company to address it for you, at an additional expense to the owner. One of the main attractions of Hilton Head, and Palmetto Dunes specifically, is the greenery and lush landscapes. But, of course, with that beauty does come the fact that there can be debris falling in the pool. Skimmers are provided at all of our homes. We are happy to report that the pool is being addressed in the off season, it is just not possible to do in the midst of summer bookings. We do apologize for the issues you had, and even though many of those issues were beyond our control, we do understand it does impact the entire vacation experience. We certainly expected the $2400 refund (50% of your total booking) that you were issued would have made up some of the inconveniences that you experienced. We apologize that our efforts fell short. The description was accurate, it was spotlessly clean and had mostly everything that we needed. It is in a perfect location - an easy 10 minute walk to the beach and in a quiet, less congested residential area. Property Management was very responsive to a plumbing issue we had. I liked everything about this property except for the slightly musty odor.

So comfortable

We had a wonderful, comfortable, relaxing, quiet week on Port Tack. The kitchen was well appointed and easy to cook in- which we did. The back yard was serene. An oasis. We did misunderstand that the hot tub would not come hot.. It took a few days and an extra fee, but it got worked out. For two couples this was a home full of privacy, comfort and beauty.
