A few nice restaurants in Khao Tao either a short walk or a short drive, all servign delicious Thai food

This was a wonderful stay, Ian and Game made me feel so welcome and went out of their way to make me feel 'at home'. They showed me around and went over and above the call of duty to make my stay 'amaaazing'! The cottage was lovely, the gardens beautiful and the dogs, Bonzo and Chloe, were adorable. I would highly recommend this beautiful hideaway in the 'real Thailand' :-)

Firstly, I have to tell you about our hosts, Game and Ian. They really are there to make sure your stay is everything you hope it will be. Having enjoyed four weeks travelling in Thailand, we wanted our final 15 days to be totally chilled. Ian collected us from our previous location and brought us to our home-from-home, where we met Game. They then explained to us that our first day was taken care of, firstly taking us for lunch at the most fantastic little noodle shop (35 baht for noodles with pork and wantons and as much Thai tea as you want). From there it was a tour of the local sites, restaurants and cafes to give us a good idea of where we were. Later we were taken to a Sunday Night Market to sample......, well to sample anything that took our fancy and then to a little local bar for a few Changs. Now, the property. Three good sized bedrooms, a great living area (hardly used because we spent most of our time on the outside dining area), a fully functional kitchen, an en-suite to the main bedroom, a further shower room and a downstairs w/c/laundry room. Free wi-fi (nice and speedy!). There's a great pool and small gym/pool table room at the complex. All in all, a terrific location. Ideally, you could do with a motor scooter to get about. Never having used one myself, I decided to give one a try - maybe next time I'll manage to stay upright! Game and Ian had had managed to secure bikes for us though, and we made full use of them for getting to the beaches, the local cafes (you have to try Baan Pal Coffee! Ian and Game will show you where it is), local eateries (two of which are excellent and very close by) and the local massage shops. There's an ATM nearby also. The local beach is a dream - bath temperature water, white powdery sand, kite-surfing facilities close at hand (with instruction if required), and for the energetic, a walk up "Turtle Mountain". Relaxed is definitely the word to describe the area. There were further trips out with Game and Ian - different restaurants, local markets, a boat ride up the Pranburi River and to top it all, a great off-road scooter ride into the local area. If you need a change from the local beach, they'll take you to other little hidden gems. Without them and their local knowledge, and Game's Thai savvy, our holiday couldn't have been anywhere near as enjoyable. Would we go back? You betcha!
