Home away from home

Was perfect for our family of 3 and enough for 4 or 5. Big enough back yard for our puppy to play. Convenience store next door. Clean and operational. Owner was quick to respond to questions.

It fit our needs

The vrbo was perfect for my visit to Austin, it was close and convenient to my daughter's house, local stores and restaurants. It is close to a busy street but I knew that being familiar with the area. Our host was very responsive the couple of times we reached out. It fit the bill perfectly for our needs!

Decent duplex in a very loud location

Recently updated, but needs a little work. Size is fine for two people, four would be okay for a short stay. Location is very loud. Traffic on Brodie is constant and cars drag race at night so it is VERY loud. Gas station was having work done so jackhammers were going for hours several nights during our stay, but doubt that would be true long term.

We appreciate your feedback. The unit is very nicely updated, not sure what you meant by "needing a little work" since you did not elaborate. The property is very conveniently located on a corner property, and it is impossible for us to control surrounding traffic noise. We also cannot control the work being done at the corner gas station. The unit can very comfortably accommodate 5 people long term. This unit offers over 900 ft² of space with one and a 1/2 baths, 2 bedrooms, a roll away bed and a very large backyard. There's also a carport with extended driveway and a large front yard with beautiful mature trees that shade most of the property.

You get what you pay for

Overall this was good enough. Unfortunately, the house is more run down than the pictures let on, and has aged slightly. The bathroom was not quite as clean as the photos show. My biggest issue, however, is that the pictures show a usable backyard, but when we arrived the grass was so tall I didn't feel comfortable letting my dog off his leash for fear that there could be snakes or something else in the grass I couldn't see. The area also doesn't seem to be the safest. Like I said, overall it got the job done, and it was one of the cheapest VRBOs available in the area and I see why. If you're looking for a cheap stay and don't mind some minor inconveniences, this is fine.

This home was remodeled only two years ago and it is still in great and presentable condition. Your two day stay was hardly enough time to get an appreciation of all the amenities condition and location of this property. We also work very hard to respond to any items needing attention, and we never got a call or request from you regarding the grass, and you are correct we keep our rates affordable for families and guests meeting a place to stay while their own properties get repaired. We sincerely hope you find a more suitable place to stay next time and let your host know of any items needing attention.

Cute Space / Needs Improvements on Cleanliness & Safety

Y'all would benefit from sealing that back door. There were roaches probably from that back door having a huge gap in it. We left one on the floor so y'all can see we weren't just making bugs up from a review. Also if y'all expect dishes to be washed you should leave a clean sponge and not a nasty smelly one and you should also put in the description that the "cleaning fee" does not cover dishes. The sink had someone's prior shavings when we arrived. Clearly whoever is cleaning if not providing a good service. It was just gross.

If you had read and understood the House Rules you would have called us immediately to let us know of any issues during your 2 day stay. The dishes were thoroughly washed before you and your entire family and pets arrived so we expect you to wash your own dirty dishes. No one has ever complained about the unit not being clean and most likely you must have left a door or window open long enough to allow a bug to get inside looking for food and water like any outside creature naturally does ! We hope you find something more suitable to your needs and expectations in the future ?
