cabin 1, 2bdrm, sleeps 4, at Vrbo: 9464533
Cabin has double wood siding interior & exterior that keeps it quiet inside, good people & rules make it great or we help enforce quiet time rules. FM 356 traffic is normally quiet at night but can have some traffic noise during day.
Also not in cabins and or not normally any nuisance to people, but guests should be aware that we are on a natural lake and there can be in wetlands area across the street or in brush, snakes, spiders, snapper turtles, alligator across the bridge, hawks, eagles, raccoons, etc. No real danger but occasionally for a couple days usually in spring or early summer, mom alligator will come and drop baby alligator hear every couple years then leaves, baby tends to be about 3’ to 3.5’ when this happens, is too small to be issue, can only eat size of bullfrogs at this time, is kind of fun but then normally leaves as well within a few weeks cuz too much activity from us. Parks & Wildlife and licensed trappers both said to leave them alone when this small, just do what we do keep swimming and boating because most the little one can do is eat bullfrog and will leave to find different home if we keep up our activities. And for 8 years we’ve seen they are correct.

This is a beautiful property! The cabin was very clean, the bed very comfortable. Everything was as described. Plenty of places to fish, the owners were extremely nice and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Thankyou Chuck for your review! Hope y'all come again!
Everything was wonderful, cabin was clean and really cute. Bed was very comfortable. Road noise was a little bothersome, especially at night, but we picked up a fan at the Dollar General and problem solved. Overall a wonderful stay
Cute, cozy, clean cabin. Very comfy bed! Water pressure great, but be patient, it’s “on demand.” Found everything needed to cook meals (except fish, we only caught two small panfish just down the road, ha.).We stayed 3/20/21/22–NO bugs, inside or out! Our last day, we went to Lake Livingston State Park 30 minutes away and hiked two trails, a long stretch is Boardwalk. Perfect weather.Lots of easy-to-burn firewood availableprobably my favorite part of the trip…plus I’m a birder and got a Lifer right next to the cabin—a pine Siskin. Saw at least 30 species, including a bald eagle as we were leaving! Two negatives: 1) The photos don’t show the highway nearby, and I was pretty bummed out about that at first, but it blended into background by day 2, and never bothered our sleep. 2) Both windows do need new blinds. One had the rod broken off so I couldn’t open it. The other had a slat missing, so we kept the quaint curtains closed. Not a big deal, so did not notify owners. Great communication with owners Rick and Bernadete throughout stay!
Cabin was great. Spider webs all over the docks and boats.

Thanks Alan, I actually had just sprayed cabins, docks and boats day prior and was letting them die before cleaning the webs. They are quite common on lake and next to wetlands but this spray tends to work for 3 months. Sorry it wasn't fully complete before your stay.
I had a great time nice and quiet everyone very friendly

Thanks Sondra for choosing us for your honeymoon, what an honor u bestowed on us! May you have long and forever blessed marriage together, and we hope to see you on those anniversaries!
Hi, we are just a mom and pop business trying to make a go of it, love the outdoors, always wanted a place like this, and enjoy sharing it. We both traveled the world with Rich's work and now he is retired several years, started building this before he retired and it seems we are forever still working on things here or there, hoping to make it better and better!
Why they chose this property
Great question but hard to answer. We actually first bought a waterfront lot on the other side of lake, north on the river, just for a retirement home. We had looked at this place at the same time and rejected it, never even went in because the house was awful on outside. But a year later decided it's too hard to build on that lot from houston and overseas without having a place to stage things and so used that as excuse to look some more. So a year later a different relator brought us here too by chance but this time we went inside too and fell in love from the inside, not the outside. So spent considerable time trying to figure what we could change on outside and what else to do with the few acres and now here we are over a decade later!
What makes this property unique
It's a quaint little place with 5 cabins and our home all facing the water, rv spots, wetlands across the street, and a town 2 miles away. What more could anyone want? God blessed us and we are very appreciative of that.
