Wraparound Porch, 3-Bed + Loft & Pet Friendly! Close to Lake Granby and Highland Marina
You've just found a nicely updated pet friendly home that is a fantastic lodging option for your Grand Lake vacation. Unlike many properties, this cozy cabin in the woods has been thoughtfully and beautifully renovated to provide you with good quality finishes and comfortable furnishings. Besides being pet friendly and nicely updated, the home features an open concept layout, vaulted ceilings, leather furniture, a massive HDTV, a wraparound deck, and plenty of parking for cars or trailers. The location is ideal too, with quick easy access to Lake Granby, Grand Lake, Stilllwater Pass trails, and more. The home sits on 2 acres which includes an outdoor fire-pit and evergreen forest. Read on for more details.
The home has 3 Bedrooms plus a loft and a bedding setup that is great for all sorts of groups. There are 5 individual beds, so if you have 5 people that don't want to share beds, no problem! The two downstairs bedrooms are ideal for couples or maybe those singles who snore. Bedroom 1 has a Queen bed and bedroom 2 has a Queen bed. Upstairs, bedroom 3 has a Queen bed, a Twin bed, and a good amount of space for your things. Also upstairs is a loft area with another Twin bed. With 1 Queen and 2 Twins, this upper level might be ideal for a couple with kids. Whatever your group dynamics might be, this home has a good amount of comfy beds for your use. The home has 2 bathrooms too. There is a beautifully renovated bathroom on the ground level, accessible from the common area, so anyone can use it without disturbing those who are in the bedrooms. It has a big glass enclosed shower with very attractive tile and a teak bench. There's a window too, just high enough to allow you to look outside without causing any privacy issues. The bathroom also features new hardwood floors, an upgraded vanity with farmhouse sink, and plenty of bright lights. Upstairs there is another bathroom. Having a 2nd bathroom is always nice, and for those sleeping upstairs, there's no need to go downstairs in the middle of the night.
When you're not sleeping, the home has a lot more to offer in the common areas. The kitchen is a good size and fully equipped. It features stainless steel appliances, including a gas range and fridge with filtered water and ice. The cabinets are nice, there's plenty of light, and the peninsula acts as a bar for breakfast or helping your chef with meal prep. The main living area has 20 foot vaulted ceilings. The tongue and groove paneling on the ceiling and walls combines with the leather sofa to create a warm and inviting space. The HDTV is more than large enough and can be viewed from the entire space, including the kitchen. Out the sliding glass doors you'll find a big wraparound deck that is sure to be enjoyed by guests in spring, summer, and fall. The outdoor furniture offers you a nice place to dine or enjoy coffee, tea, or other tasty beverages. The owners keep flowers, herbs, and hummingbird feeders to accentuate the natural feel provided by the mature pine forest that surrounds. A few steps lead down to the yard and nearby fire-pit. Come prepared with supplies for smores and maybe some campfire stories!
The home has a great location and a nice piece of land. Lake Granby, the Stillwater boat ramp, and the Highland Marina are only 1/2 mile down the road. The Idleglen parking and staging area for for the Stillwater Pass OHV and snowmobile trail system is only a couple of miles away. The shopping and dining of downtown Grand Lake and the town of Granby are an easy 10-minute drive down highway 34. The home sits on 2 acres of land full of mature pine trees. When you sit out on the deck or at the firepit you'll feel like you're out in the national forest. That said, there are some neighbors around, so this property is not for those looking to have a party or make lots of noise late into the night. Dogs are welcome here, if approved in advance, and with a small nightly fee. From highway 34, there is only 1/2 mile of county road to the home. The county road is pretty gentle and easy to navigate, so access would be possible for most vehicles year-round. That said, in winter season, we recommend 4 wheel or all-wheel drive for anyone who is visiting the area.
The home's interior and exterior have been well maintained and we are looking for guests who will take good care of the home too. This is not a party house, but it is a great place for respectful people and responsible dog owners to have a good time. We know you will find this home to be comfortable, convenient, a great place to make memories, and a place you'd choose again for your next visit to the area. Please advise us when or before booking if you have questions about a specific property amenity so that we can give you the most accurate information possible for your dates. ** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required. ** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. Please let us know if you have any concerns. ** Cleaning Fees & Lengthy Rental Periods - The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. For guests who are booking a lengthy stay of more than one week, a mid stay-cleaning fee equal to the final cleaning fee may apply for the second week, third week, and so on. If you are booking for a lengthy stay, please contact us before booking online to discuss your group, your dates, the rates, the cleaning schedule, etc.

We hope your pets enjoyed the stay as much as you did! Safe Travels!
A nice cabin in the woods. The renovated kitchen was nice and it had everything we needed for a group six. They were very kind and accommodated our request for more than one dog. The seating options in the living room weren’t quite enough for our group size, but we made do and had a great time.

We’re grateful for your stay and your 5-star review. Please let us know the next time you're in the area!
Great location, beautiful property. The only things that would have been nice would be a stovetop or electric tea kettle (not everyone drinks coffee!), and a better mattress in the downstairs left bedroom. Otherwise, we had a great stay!

Always a treat to stay at this cabin. Gorgeous views, Grand Lake is BEAUTIFUL, Granby has some hidden gems to eat at and Winter Park had a beautiful bike bath near the river all are very close to this cabin.
Our family had a great time staying with about 2' of snow at the place. We spent most the time playing in the snow around the house.

Winter wonderland
Beautiful little cabin in the woods. Very comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed the views and playing in the snow. Kept the wood stove burning for a toasty warm time. We even enjoyed smores for dessert. First time seeing snow for our grandchildren. This Granby location did not disappoint.
Had a great trip with my grown boys and grand puppy . Plenty of room for all . Only downside would be the lack of outdoor seating at the property and was asked to empty the fire pit into a trash can next to the pit , however it was completely over flowing.
We enjoyed our stay in this private mountain home with our family. It was great having a large driveway and space to park our trailer with UTVs. The riding trails were close by along with fun activities and restaurants in the town of Grand Lake. The home is clean and the kitchen is well stocked. We enjoyed the fire pit at night and the large deck to enjoy the cool mountain breezes. We hope to be back in the winter. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
This was a great property for our family to spend a week in the snow for Chtistmas! Plenty of room for the five of us. there was even a Christmas tree fully decorated when we arrived :-) The cabin is well equiped with the basics. The wood burning stove was great on cold days! The kitchen and living room felt larger than the photos. The property is quiet, yet it’s close enough to Granby and Grand Lake for a morning drive to the coffee shop. my wife and I would recommend this place for a family vacation hope to be back in the future.
Great home, worked perfect for our group. Very comfortable and clean. Only negative (which was a big one) was that the listing information suggested there is plenty of room for trailer parking in the rear of the home...this area had not been plowed except for a single short lane between the home and separate shop which made it very difficult to manage a snowmobile trailer we had with us. Other than trailer access the home was great.

Grand Lake, like much of Colorado, has received an above average amount of snow this year. We weren't aware this guest was bringing a trailer, and we weren't alerted by the guest after they arrived that this was an issue for them. Had we known, we certainly would have worked to clear more of the driveway for them during their stay.
Guests are provided multiple ways to reach us, including a 24/7 guest services phone number, should they have any questions or concerns before, during or after their stay.

Nice place, but not private
We loved everything about this place, it was clean upon our arrival and had everything we needed to stay for 6 nights. However, every single day there was someone on the property. Not private at all when people are coming and going. One evening someone showed up and unloaded a jeep at 9pm and was not quiet about it. If you are looking for a place of solitude, this is not it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re delighted to hear that our home was clean and well-equipped for your stay, providing everything you needed for your time here. We do want to note that our property is part of a managed community, and from time to time there may be maintenance staff, vendors, or service personnel on-site during the day. While we strive to minimize any disruptions, there are occasional deliveries or property services that occur in the evenings as well. Our team works to ensure the property is well-maintained and ready for every stay. We appreciate feedback like this as it helps us continue to improve the experience for everyone. We always want to know if these are disruptions to you and encourage any guest to reach out 24/7 to our guest services line!
This was our first time renting a dog-friendly property and it was a good experience. Just had to answer a few questions about our dog up-front (breed, weight, etc.) Property was comfortable for us (family of 4) and convenient to the lakes while still feeling secluded. We were able to easily cook all our meals at the house, and kids loved the loft area to play. I think the owner's store some vehicles or equipment in the garage/building next door, and someone did come onto the property one day to haul something away, but didn't disturb us.
Lovely cabin, beautiful location with fire pit. Nice furnishings (except for unusually high bed) and well stocked kitchen. But it wasn't cleaned before our arrival and it took 20 hours to get sheets and towels Also the owners stayed on site and the listing didn't share that. They were very quiet and respectful but wish I'd known before. Their dog (small) was off leash and I had a dog who wasn't a fan.

We’re thrilled to hear that our cabin’s location, fire pit, furnishings, and well-stocked kitchen are enjoyed by our guests. We want future guests to know that we take cleanliness and readiness very seriously. Our team works hard to ensure the cabin is fully prepared, and we have a dedicated process to provide fresh linens and towels promptly. In rare instances where timing issues arise, we act quickly to resolve them, as we did here. For transparency, we do have owners that occasionally stay on-site in a different cabin, as well as a small, friendly dog. Our goal is always to be respectful of our guests’ privacy. We are confident that with these details in mind, guests can enjoy a comfortable, well-appointed stay in a beautiful location! As always, we can be reached 24/7 at our guest services line with any questions or concerns!
It took me a long time to find a place for our family. we have 3 girls, 17, 16 &14 + one 19yo son. It took me forever to find a place w adequate sleeping rooms & beds. This place fit perfectly and we had no required destination other than "Colorado" Grand Lake is stunning. A quiet little town with so much to do that finding this house was the key to our whole trip. The property is amazing as well. we enjoyed a few campfires, had a baby owl come up on the deck and visit with us for a few hours! The drive to our hikes & to trail ridge Marina was so convenient. We had no issues with the house at all & would love to stay here again should we ever be fortunate enough to travel back to grand lake.

Place was great location for fishing tourney. When we got there the place was cold temp was set @50 baseboard heating. Looking @ pictures it showed wood fireplace in brochure it said due to insurance purpose couldn’t use? We turned the temp up to 80 it was still not comfortable and quite chilly inside. Dirty dishes left in dishwasher and that was due to it not working properly. Overall great place just need a space heater or diffrent heat source on those cold days or fireplace to work and use! And please change lightbulbs out none of lamps upstairs worked.

We do wish this guest would have called us upon arrival, as all of these issues could have easily been resolved. We have confirmed with the insurance company that guests are able to use the fireplace. The heat is turned down during periods of vacancy to help control costs. Guests are welcome to turn up the heat as soon as they enter the home, and it does heat up quickly. We aren't sure who disconnected the water to the dishwasher, but it has been reconnected. The dishwasher is brand new and doesn't have any issues.
The lightbulbs have also been replaced.
All guests are given our 1-800 guest services number, and are encouraged to reach out to us if they need anything before, during or after their stay.

It was perfect
The cabin was perfect for our needs; a base for downtime between all the mountain activities. Location: Perfectly located between Granby/Frasier and Grand Lake/RMNP. We could easily get to amenities for things we forgot or ran out of and it's close enough to the main highway without the road noise. House: The cabin is spotless and well configured for our needs. Plenty of privacy, beds, and toilets (the bathroom remodel is beautiful!). There was also plenty of hot water for everyone and the washer/dryer came in handy big-time. Beds were comfortable enough and patio table was perfect for meals. The property itself is large and well maintained, the kids had a blast running around. We did get to use the fire pit one night before the ban and it was well situated with plenty of wood, seating, and water for dousing. A couple of things we noticed: No can opener (that we could find) but I'm certain had we thought to mention it to the owner he would've rectified that right away. The other thing is the squeeters were out in FORCE! Thankfully we brought our Thermacell (look it up, works beautifully).
Beautiful area away from cabin, which needs lots of TLC.
This is the first time the ratings on VRBO did not come close to expectations. The home did not look like the pictures, needs a lot of attention and clean up. The bathrooms are remodeled which are very nice. But the house is not kept up, pots and pans need to be replaced, linens and towels need replaced. There was a screen missing from an upstairs window, very dangerous. Only one fan in the house with no AC in the summer, so hot during the day. The view is of an old truck with a snow plow attached or a large garage structure or large pieces of equipment behind the storage area. Grand Lake/Granby is beautiful with lots to see and do but you cannot walk to any of these sites as the house is situated off of a major road. No sidewalk and a small shoulder, we didn't risk it. There was quite a bit of traffic noise as well. How the ratings were so high we have no idea.

We strive to ensure every guest has a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We encourage all guests to reach out during their visit with any concerns, and we are always happy to address them promptly. Regarding the screen mentioned in this review, it was on order at the time and was replaced shortly after this guest departed. The bathrooms have been recently remodeled and are maintained to a high standard. We continually update linens, towels, and kitchenware as needed to ensure comfort. Our home is located near Grand Lake/Granby, offering beautiful views and plenty of nearby attractions. While the property sits along a main road and isn’t within walking distance of the town center, it provides easy access to the surrounding areas. Guests can also enjoy the quiet and scenic setting just beyond the road. We appreciate all feedback and use it to maintain and improve the experience for our guests. As always - our 24/7 guest services line is available should you need anything!
