The Blue Bird "Shipping Container home" Newly Upgraded!

Check out our 20ft by 8ft house shipping container, we recently added a bedroom 10 by 16 bedroom addition to this space!. The shipping container sits on a 40ft by 20ft deck, which includes a 20ft by 12 ft cover area that has out door love seats, hot tub, fire pit and gas grill. If you are feeling adventurous you can walk up the stairs case to hang out on top of the shipping container that has a sitting area on that 20ft by 8ft deck. The inside of the shipping container includes, bathroom, shower and sink combo room. Kitchenette that includes a kcup machine that your favorite coffee grounds can be added, toaster, mini refrigerator/freezer, microwave, single burner hot plate, pots, pans, dishes, etc. Also includes a 2-TV's, and electric fireplace mounted on the wall the has led black lighting that you can change the interior of shipping container to your mood. The bed use to be Serta that easily coverts into a couch for more seating, but we just added a new bedroom addition on this unit! You can hang out in our common area pole barn that includes a pool table, shuffleboard, darts, large sofa, mini refrigerator/ freezer, full bathroom and high top table. Come rest, and restore at our Hillside Retreats location.

Everything was perfect from start to finish! We loved the Bluebird . So cozy inside and the place /property was beautiful and in pristine condition! We enjoyed all of it from the hot tub to the fire pit to the rooftop deck . And our host was wonderful and very responsive , making sure everything was perfect . Do not hesitate to book a stay at The Bluebird!

The container house was beautifully decorated and it was spotless. We had everything we needed and enjoyed the peace and quiet. I enjoyed the rooftop deck, the clamshell seat was so comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub and the game room was more than we expected. Thank you for an excellent stay.

We were excited to stay in a shipping container, but turned out to be not what we saw in pics. When we first pulled up to the property, there was an old faded Bday sign. Not our bday! Front porch was covered in debris, patio furniture was dirty and roof top furniture was ripped up bad. The bathroom is not mentioned in rental info. Its a shower/toilet combo and the smell was awful!! The bathroom floors are very dirty and moldy. We found a sock under the bed (not ours) and a stain on comforter. I would bet that the linens hadnt been changed. I just had a feeling about it. Upon opening the hottub, we found a pre-roll container floating around, and the grill was covered in burnt chicken. We had to clean that prior to grilling. This rental may sound cool and the pics look nice, but definitely not worth the money you pay. Also, they leave you a couple snacks that are expired.We love HH, but will not stay here again.

The unplugging we needed

We enjoyed our stay, only issue we had was an empty propane tank, they swapped it out quick and were good to go, also helped me find a place to ride our atv that didn't require a state sticker. Bed was comfy, ac worked well, hot tub felt amazing after riding, had privacy, host responded quickly, would recommend and stay agian!

Way too expensive for the quality of rental. Outside furniture is ripped up. Three lights were out. The AC unit didn’t even cool down the whole building it just stayed in one area making it seem like the new add on is letting in hot air. The hot tub was sort of green like it needed chlorine or something. Overall the place wasnt crazy clean but not dirty either.

We recommend Hillside retreats to anyone looking for a clean comfortable stay! They went above and beyond and placed a “Happy Anniversary” sign in front of our place. We stayed in the Bluebird. It was comfortable and fun! Hot tub was amazing after lots of hiking. Lot of privacy and not far from all the things around Hocking HIlls. Will be returning again.:)

Cute and Quaint

The Bluebird was a great 4 day escape for my husband and I. It was perfectly located, remote and private but easy to get to all of the trails, parks and restaurants. The was our first container stay and will definitely be staying again.

Anniversary getaway

Needed a weekend away with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The Blue Bird did not disappoint! It was our first time staying in a shipping container and it was so unique and fun. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Cozy Getaway

I booked The Blue Bird for a little getaway with my husband on our wedding night, since we aren’t leaving for our honeymoon right away. The tiny home was adorable and very clean. The hosts went above and beyond by surprising us with a “just married” sign in the yard, and we were delighted by the thoughtful gesture. I highly recommend this location and will definitely be staying there again.

Awesome weekend getaway

Husband and I needed a quick quiet weekend getaway and it was just that. Alissa and Josie was super helpful and very kind. Could not have asked for better customer service. Great job ladies! We will definitely go back. The bluebird was very quaint and bed was comfortable.

Comfortable place to stay

We stayed three nights here. We came to explore the caves and all Hocking Hills had to offer. We wanted a smaller place with a hot tub and firepit. This has just that. The other places are a little closer than I thought, but honestly we hardly saw any other people. There was a game room that was clean and cute (although we did not use). Pretty nice place to stay for a container house. We did have to go to the store for a few things, but we still had an absolute blast. We thought for sure we would see some wild life being close to the woods, but we did not. Really nice property for the outdoor lover.

Coziest 30th birthday getaway!

This was our second time staying at The Blue Bird (first time being last summer) as I picked this location for my 30th birthday because I remembered how lovely it was the first time! The inside is plenty spacious and I love the comfortable bed and furniture. It gets a bit chilly inside during the cold months I realized, but the provided heating unit works perfectly. Using the smart fire pit and the hot tub are a must while we stay! Host made sure to let us know where wood would be accessible if we needed more, and we were able to enjoy our s’mores, sweet potatoes, and hotdogs. Hot tub has lots of great features and felt good even on a crispy, drizzly night. The host was even kind enough to prepare the space for my birthday and was thoughtful enough to welcome me with a birthday display and a card inside! This area is quiet, serene and beautiful. It will feel like there might not be enough hours in a day when you arrive to stay, because you might like myself and be super excited to enjoy the time in all the ways possible: going for hikes on local trails, cooking a nice meal, napping in a hammock in the sun, drinking tea and reading a good book on the deck, healing aches the hot tub, watching a movie in the plush bed, the list goes on… It is certainly a gem for a perfect nature getaway, away from the city! Celebrated anniversary here!

The property was perfect for a little getaway weekend, everything was set up so nicely when we arrived and the game room was so fun when we had down time. The hot tub and kitchen were so convenient also. Amazing time!

We had a great time staying at the bluebird shipping container! The property was perfect for my partner and I. We enjoyed the hot tub, and having access to the communal game room was very fun. The property was in a great location, remote but close enough to the hiking trails that we wanted to explore during our stay. We’ll definitely be returning in the future!

Better than imagined!

It was our first time staying in a converted storage container and it was perfect - clean and well decorated and maintained. We had a slight issue getting the key code but that was my fault for not getting information turned in when I was supposed to but the property management team quickly responded to all my texts and followed up to make sure everything was going well. I would not hesitate to book this specific location or use this management company again!

Nice time

I enjoyed the shipping container house but there were some things that could have been better. The deck area was great, but couldn't spend much time on the roof deck because the couch cushion was soggy and there were wasps during the day. Also the firepit would have been nice but didn't get the chance to use it. I didn't care for the check in process because I felt like the code should have just been posted in the app instead of having to look through the contract to find it. Overall I like this cabin but because of the price vs amenities, I would likely not stay here again.
