Mini Mountain Vacay

Brooke is an incredible hostess and easy to communicate with. Her home and the view from the back deck is stunning. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay!

The Perfect Vacation at The Bear House

Absolutely beautiful cabin and panoramic views! Lovely, quiet neighborhood close to waterfalls and wineries. Cabin was so clean, comfortable, and organized. Best family trip!

The cabin looks cute from the photos, but once you step in the house it was dirty, beds not made, dirty towels in the hamper, dead mouse on the floor, and kitchen infested with german roaches. Unable to stay for the 3 days we booked the cabin. I would not recommend anyone staying at this cabin. We had to leave the first day and they would not refund any money.

From the owner: “I’m truly sorry this guest arrived to find the home not properly cleaned before check-in. This was an unusual oversight, and cleaners were sent within hours once we were notified. Pest control also inspected the property immediately and again later, with no evidence of any pests. A partial refund was issued as part of addressing the situation. Since then, several guests have stayed comfortably without incident. I took steps to make sure the situation was handled promptly and to the guest’s satisfaction, and I remain committed to keeping the cabin clean, comfortable, and welcoming for every stay.

Beautiful view

The view was wonderful. There was only one TV in the living room which was fine for us but for a group not so much. Didn't have a microwave, small inconvenience. Overall great stay very quiet and relaxing!! Host was easy to reach and follow was good.

Beautiful Cabin

This house was just as pictured - beautiful views and very homey. The only things I would mention are a microwave would be very useful in this space alongside some window curtains or blinds for privacy. Some more kitchen pans would be useful as well. Overall though I would come back to this home. Thank you for the stay!

lost vacation

we did not stay the length of the reservation only two nights out of five due to having to return home because of Milton. The cabin is in a beautiful area. Management could have warned us about the washed-out driveway from previous storm. Also, could have been a bit cleaner. We did enjoy Jasper.

Peaceful Cabin Retreat

We loved our stay here. The calm atmosphere, great patio views and proximity to hiking were our favorites. The house was outfitted with just about everything we needed. We loved the open layout, the kitchen- with all the cooking implements we needed, and the "reading nook" was a favorite. We came in mid-October and had perfect weather. I'd imagine staying in the warm summer months could be a different experience, as there is no A/C (there is heat, which we didn't use), although there are multiple overhead and portable fans. We kept the windows open for most of our stay and had no complaints. Drawbacks are few, but worth mentioning- the driveway loop is VERY steep and was rutted out and damaged on the far side (we were told to use the first entrance only). We managed OK, but be aware. It would have been nice to have A/C (as mentioned above)- only thinking about how we'd love to come in Summer but will probably avoid because of this. Would be nice to have a couple more amenities, like a microwave and a washer/dryer. The check-in/out process was straightforward, and Brooke was attentive to our needs while there. This was our second stay, and we'd gladly come again!

Thank you for coming back to stay again! Glad you enjoyed your stay! We do have a small washer/dryer… it’s in the closet in the loft. Please ask for a key next time you stay! As for the A/C - temps actually remain significantly cooler at elevation, normally 10-15 degrees cooler. So there’s typically only a couple days a year where AC is needed. Otherwise the windows and fans do the trick! Look forward to hosting you again!

They did say the driveway was steep but didn’t say it was washed out and really rough even in our truck! Also there were dead bugs in the house. There were no kitchen towels! The coffee pot leaked! The outlets in the kitchen didn’t work, nor did some of the track lights! We bought steaks to grill because we thought there was a grill! Saw it on the list and in a picture of the property! Contacted the host they emailed back and said that the grill was to the left of the bench on the porch. I sent him a picture of that area and there was no grill. The host never responded back to me! Love the location and the view!

Hi Brandy, the right vacation home is everything, and we’re glad to hear you enjoyed the location and the view! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- The driveway has two access points, and we did send a message ahead of time recommending guests use the first one due to recent washout. We’ve followed up with Evolve to make sure this is clearly noted in future pre-stay details.- We’re sorry for any confusion around the grill—we did respond with its location, but it sounds like it was missing during your stay. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.- Kitchen towels are provided and can be found in a roll of blue and white disposable towels located near the dishwasher.- The outlets are functioning now—a GFCI outlet had been tripped and was reset after the next guest’s stay. We’re currently looking into the coffee pot and track lighting and will make any needed repairs to ensure the space is ready for future guests.Thanks again for the helpful feedback!

Pleasant Stay!

We enjoyed our weekend! The view from the deck was beautiful. The location is perfect for a trip to North Georgia. Jasper, Ellijay, Blairsville….we made a day of it! The cabin is very cozy. The host extremely accommodating. I’m glad the description warned about the driveway. We weren’t bothered by how steep it was but on the way in, there’s a pretty big rut where the rain has washed it out. Fortunately we were in a large SUV. Also, we arrived after dark and the small, dark “enter” sign was hard to see. I say all of that just as a forewarning. It wouldn’t keep us from staying again. Also, the bedroom windows could use some curtains or blinds. You don’t realize how open those windows are to the road. Again, wouldn’t keep me from staying.Also, the cameras. I read they were outside and none were directed inside the house. However, it did appear to have an interior one in the garage. We didn’t spend any time down there but just a heads up for others. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would return based on the location, the view and the accommodating host.

I wish I didn’t have to write such a negative review, as the cabin was very nice and the views were incredible, however, the host made our experience a negative one. An hour before check-in at 4pm, while we were driving to the cabin for a 2-night stay, the property management team called to inform us that the water heater broke. They mentioned that a person was supposed to arrive the next day to fix it. Do to the inconvenience of not having hot water during this period of time, we were offered a refund of 20% of the base rate for one night (which essentially was 10% of the total cost for one night after considering host fees and taxes). Upon arrival and entering the cabin, the temperature inside was very cold. The thermostat read 55. I tried to turn on the heat, but it didn’t seem to be working. After checking the heater in the basement, we discovered that the cabin used radiant heat that’s stemmed from the water heater. Not only did we not have hot water, there was no heat in the cabin. We again reached out to the host and also the property management team asking if the home had another source of heat. We did not receive a response for a while. We inquired if there were space heaters or heated blankets. After receiving no response, we ultimately purchased a heated blanket from a local Walmart. Eventually, the host did get back to us that night and let us know that 2 small space heaters were in the basement.I kept following up with the host for the duration of our sta

Beautiful Views with a Modern Touch

My family and I were thrilled to stay at this beautiful cabin in Jasper, GA. The views were exceptional and it was located near Amacalola Falls, which is a great place to visit for the day. The host was very informative, attentive, and kind. I was extremely happy with the cabin its self also. It was very clean and decorated nicely, the beds were all comfortable, they had games for family night, and the whole place had a very peaceful feel. I will most definately be staying here again!

Absolutely gorgeous views!!!

The home is exactly as shown in the pictures! The vault is so pretty from the upper loft BR as you can see the lights from Jasper below and awake with the gorgeous Mountain View’s. Brooke was wonderful to work with! We hope to come back to stay soon!!

House was in immaculate condition. Very well organized and clean. If there would be any one suggestion, towel hooks or racks in the bathroom so that we wouldn't have to leave wet towels on the counters. Will definitely go again.

Great Cabin, Bad Weather

The cabin is beautiful and just as pictured online. Our only problem was the weather. It was raining and very foggy and were only able to enjoy the views for a few hours each day. That is on Mother Nature, not VRBO.....LOL.

Glamping in the Blue Ridge Mountains

Property was as pictured. Cabin was clean but had a loud odor emanating from the bathroom and neighboring bedroom on the second floor. This listing also advertised washer and dryer and pictured it and it’s location in advertisement.. The door to washer and dryer was locked. We called and emailed listing agent to inquire about accessing these appliances with no response. We had a family of 4 and was given one towel, hand towel, and wash cloth per person for a 6 night stay with no spare towels or ability to wash available towels. Cabin also was not equipped with air conditioning. Did offer 3 fans and suggested opening windows. Was a little uncomfortable after sightseeing in 90 plus degree weather then come home to a stuffy, humid home. Lastly, we opened sliding doors for cross ventilation and could not do so for long periods of time due to no screen on sliding door and large black ants and flying bugs entering cabin. Other than the above listed complaints, our stay was quite pleasant. A microwave would be an noticeable improvement to your kitchen.

Cool Mountain Breezes

The photos accurately show the property and the house was very clean and comfortable. We were thrilled with the cool breezes that gently blew in off the mountain. So refreshing after hot summer weather in Atlanta. We loved the deck that looked over the valley and relaxed with books, games and puzzles. A great place to unwind and relax. My only suggestion is to add a microwave to the kitchen. Who wants to cook over a stove when they are on vacation. Other than that it was an excellent rental and we will return soon to enjoy the cool mountain breezes again

Fresh Mountain Air

Family friendly safe environment; very quiet with a breathtakimg view of the mountains; My favorite spots were the bedroom loft and living room overlooking the mountains. We cooked breakfast in the accommodating kitchen; board games brought the family together.

Honeymoon getaway

We stayed at the bear house the two nights after our wedding. They went above and beyond making the stay special. They left us some campaign, a personalized honeymoon gift, and a just married banner. It was so special and we had the best time. The views are beautiful and the cabin is in perfect condition. We loved it and will definitely be back!
