Wonderful stay!

This is our second year in a row staying in this home for a scalloping trip with friends. Once again, we had the best time! Kris and Bob are AMAZING, and so is the house. Perfect location, with quick access to the springs, restaurants, and grocery. The home is well stocked and has so many thoughtful touches. The screened porch is perfect for relaxing and offers great views of wildlife including a manatee with a tracker who seems to live right in the canal. We are already looking forward to our trip next year!

This home was perfect for our family getaway. We docked our pontoon boat at the house which was easy access and well structured. The house was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The hosts had excellent communication and were welcoming. We hope to stay here again!

Perfect Little Getaway

We had an amazing extended weekend with family and friends here! The house was super cozy comfortable for a group of people. We were a few minutes away from restaurant, the springs, and about a 30 min drive to the gulf for scalloping! The host even brought us a second anchor because we didn’t have one on our boat for the springs. Great stay!

Fantastic and charming

Would love to stay here year after year. Everything was great and perfect. We loved being on the canal. Easy boat ride close to springs. Loved the private boy slip and loved not having to launch the boat every day. Beds were comfortable and house was very clean. The owner was so responsive. Lots of nice touches. Enjoyed it tremendously!!!

Such an amazing home located in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for a getaway vacation. We can’t thank Kristin and Bob enough for their open communication and their genuine care and interest in us as their guests. They epitomize “Southern hospitality”. The house is fully furnished, beautifully decorated, and spacious enough to accommodate our family of 9. The dock on the back was large enough to support our 24’ boat and allowed quick access to the gulf for fishing. If you are looking for your next place to stay I highly recommend this home.

Best Family Vacation

We had a wonderful family vacation in homosassa at this beautiful home. It was perfect for our family of 7, including two kids (5 and 7). The hosts were so kind, hospitable and accommodating. They gave us some great suggestions of places to eat and boating destinations. This home on the river was the perfect launching point for our daily boat adventures, and keeping the boat on the dock made it hassle free!! The living space was perfect for our family. The kitchen was expertly stocked with everything we needed to cook family breakfasts and dinners. And the beds!!! Soooo comfortable and the perfect place to crash after a long day in the sun. Most importantly this home was the perfect backdrop for creating some incredible family memories. We can’t wait to come back.

Perfect place for a scalloping trip

Our group of 8 had the absolute best time. The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious for our group of 8 (two couples, and 4 young adults). We loved the private boat ramp, and being able to park our boat at the dock. It made hitting the water to scallop or hit the springs (which was SO close) very easy. There was plenty of parking for our boat trailer and guest vehicles. The house was well stocked and the kitchen had everything we needed to make large meals. There was plenty of seating inside and out for our group. The screened porch was perfect for coffee and mimosas in the morning overlooking the water. It was pure bliss! One last note: the host is AMAZING! I’ve never felt more welcomed at a vacation home. We really appreciated the great communication and recommendations. We will be back!

The Perfect River Retreat - Just Unpack

From the moment you enter the home, you are on vacation. The River House Vibe immediately puts you in vacation mode. The little touches of Old Florida mixed with a modern flair make you feel like this could be your second home. We overpacked because the host thought of every detail. There are also Publix and Walmart, which are very close to the house. To say this home was clean and comfortable is an understatement. The beds are ALL very comfortable, and the spacious living room has an oversized couch that our family fell in love with and sometimes asleep on. The outdoor enclosed porch is made for peaceful evenings and early mornings when you can watch the river and just BE. The kitchen was a perfect size and fully equipped to make large meals for our entire crew. The bedroom layout was perfect for your group. Some of us were early risers, and others were night owls, but we all enjoyed peaceful slumber. The room with three full beds has a large sliding door that makes the room virtually soundproof. The twin beds were also configured in a way that provided privacy for everyone. The "Captain's Ensuite" was the perfect temperature for great sleep. Having a skylight slowly let the morning light in from the bathroom was nice. But, we could have closed the door if we didn't want to be disturbed by the beautiful day. At night, we enjoyed playing board games inside, and the younger adults were thrilled with the speed of the internet since the new college football game came out during our visit. At the same time, a couple of us needed to remain connected to work, and we had no issues with the speed or connection of the service provided. Our 25.5 ft boat could fit on the dock with plenty of room. We were just a few minutes from Homosassa Springs and the waterfront dining along the Homosassa River. The location cannot be beaten. The house had fishing gear, kayaks, and many outdoor games/items to keep your crew busy. The hosts were very accommodating and gracious. They put together a lot of information about things to do in the area, including great dining and tour options. We enjoyed having a couple of cold beverages with them, as well.

Wonderful Fishing getaway

The house was perfect for my friends, and the owners are extremely kind. They were very helpful in ensuring we made the best use of our time. I highly recommend, and we will certainly be back! If you want to explore the mangroves and the Gulf, the fishing was incredible. Highly recommend Capt. Rick Spratt.

Absolute Perfection!

This river house was all we had hoped for and more. We had a great experience. So many good things to say about this place....great location, peaceful, beautiful. The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. Everything we needed was there so we were able to just walk right in and begin our vacation. Very roomy! Plenty of space for a big family to hang out indoors and out. We are already planning our next stay here :)

We had the best time at this property. It was convenient to everything, we were able to dock our boat safely, the bedrooms were perfect for our family of 6 and we enjoyed the big living room and screen porch. Definitely a great place to stay!

Great little get away

We had a great time relaxing. We rented a boat at the nearby marina at a reasonable rate and enjoyed fishing in the morning and taking all the kids to the springs to swim in the afternoon. It was great fun to pull the boat into the dockside restaurant and have a relaxing dinner after a long day of fun and sun. The location is great and the neighbors made us feel right at home. So much to see and do here. I can’t wait to get back!

Paradise on the Canal

Truly a paradise! The location was spectacular. We sat on the screened in porch and the deck watching the birds, manatees, and dolphins for hours on end. It was like a safari but from our house. Even on a rainy day, it was the perfect respite from our typically hectic lives. We watched movies while relaxing on the cosy, comfy couch all day one day. The home itself was so welcoming. What a nice touch to have a note that said Welcome Gutermuth Family and we loved all the recommendations. It was also absolutely spotless which is incredibly important right now. I don't think Ive ever been in a place so clean. If we ever get back to Homosassa Springs/Crystal River, we will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful and spacious accommodations on the water

We had a wonderful trip in October. We came down to visit grandma, but because of covid wanted a separate place where we could gather outside. The lanai was a great place to sit, eat and play games. The house itself was spotless. The beds comfortable. Every morning we would spot new animals outside in the canal. We even had a chance to see manatees - a baby and the mom hung out one morning. Great rental!

Just what you are looking for

The home is perfect! The location could not be any better. Close to Publix for any thing you forgot, no bridges to worry about while on the boat and close to the springs for a relaxing swim after fishing/scalloping. The house is clean and the beds are comfortable. All in all- you couldn't ask for a better place. The owners were very helpful and the boat ramp is within walking distance to launch your boat for your stay.

Perfect Place to Stay

This is an amazing place to stay. Everything was so clean. Beds were super comfortable and brand new mattresses. Lots of room to hang out in the family room with a big sectional. Bedrooms were very spacious. We have a 24ft boat and it was easy to dock and get to the river. Springs were close by and we went scalloping every day. Very close to Publix. We will definitely come back and stay here.
