Unhappiness and Disappointment with vrbo
I have taken off the vrbo app from my phone after this stay!
This is the first time I have used vrbo. I am surprised that you allow cabins like the one we stayed in on your website! It was an old cabin, and I understand old, but I don't understand dirty and no updating whatsoever. Thank goodness there was the lake so we could spend most of our time outside. Here is a list of items that were dirty.....an old stained table for food prep, the handles of the gas stove were covered in grease on the underside, the fridge door handle was black with dirt, the front door was filthy on both sides, the windows were filled with dirt and cobwebs, the sinks were brown stained with iron stain from the water, chairs on the deck were cracked and black with dirt and wear.
Thank goodness I had some blankets, so could place them on the bed and over furniture, because if the cabin is dirty, most likely the sheets are too.
I tried to contact Evolve (when we booked on vrbo, the site automatically went to Evolve for payment). I got ahold of them, but they said they couldn't do anything unless I had email. I was unable to access my email on my phone. I wanted to send them pictures.
The paperwork that came to us stated, and I quote, "We Promise, It'll Be Great. Evolve promises a vetted home that's always ready for your arrival - and if your rental isn't up to our standards, we make it right".
I again, can't understand why a property like this would be on a vacation site!!! We ended up leaving 2 days early to go and stay in a motel for a "CLEAN" end to our vacation.
When you pay ahead of time for a rental, I expect it to be clean. Not too much to ask.
