About this property
Welcome to Granite Creek Cottage! The perfect getaway. 2 Blocks from Square
Granite Creek Cottage is an adorable 1939 Craftsman cottage just 2 blocks from the historic Courthouse Square and world famous Whiskey Row. This downtown area is where most of the eating, socializing, shopping happens. The Cottage sits right on Granite Creek, which runs seasonally.
Come experience the seasons! There is a little snow in the winter and cool weather in the summer. Prescott has amazing events year round like July 4th, Prescott Rodeo, the many Parades, special events at Halloween and Thanksgiving, Lighting of the Courthouse, Christmas festivities, and Watching The Boot Drop On Whiskey Row For The New Years Eve Event. The summer Concert Series brings free events to the Courthouse Square almost every night in the summer.
The Cottage has internet streaming WIFI TV's – and you can use our NETFLIX/AMAZON account. Local television stations are not available at this property but complimentary wireless internet access is included.
This wonderful, charming and cozy 1200sf house has 9 foot ceilings, crown moldings, beadboard, original dining room and kitchen pantry built-ins, laundry room and an Arizona Room with a new slate floor. The Cottage has retained its original charm but is improved with modern amenities such as central heat and air conditioning, a very large remodeled bath with tiled shower, and a completely renovated kitchen. Appliances include a 5 burner gas stove and full-sized oven, a microwave and a coffee maker.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD Granite Creek Cottage is in an older original neighborhood of Prescott. There is a mixture of single family residences, multi family residences and businesses nearby.
The Cottage was built directly on the east bank of Granite Creek. The original front of the house was facing the creek.
There is an mobile home community to the south of the property, business located to the north of the property, and a mixture of craftsman cottages and stone buildings scattered throughout the neighborhood.
The car entrance into the property is the older side street which leads to our large private parking area.
Parking is a premium in downtown Prescott so we have added a fence to the property. We have found that we will often park our cars and not use them because of how close we are to the Square.
Another benefit of being on Granite Creek is the original nature trail that allows you to walk to the Square through nature. It is a lovely, flat, scenic trail that will take you through the heart of Prescott and is a great way to get the day started when you stay at Granite Creek Cottage.
ROOMS IN THE COTTAGE Our first bedroom is called the Oak Room and has a lovely oak carved four poster bed and armoire that has a hideaway TV. There is also ample closet space.
Our second bedroom is called the Pine Room it has a pine four poster bed draped in lace and a tall pine dresser. There is also ample closet space. This bedroom has direct access to the bathroom.
The dining room has been decorated to the original late 1930’s period of the house. The table has seating for 6. There is a charming built in hutch where you will find fun family games.
The living room has the original feel of the cottage and has been updated to modern day. There is an antique oak fireplace with a fireplace art insert. (HEATING AND COOLING ARE NOW DONE BY THE CENTRAL HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING.)
The Stained Glass windows in the house have been updated with modern designs in an antique way.
The remodeled bathroom has a tiled step-in shower and an antique vanity with vessel sink.
OUTSIDE The flagstone patio has a dining table for 4-6 and is nestled next to the seasonal flower garden. It's a great location for morning coffee, afternoon drinks, a cookout on the propane grill or just sitting around the fire pit making s’mores.
The creek side porch is the original porch for the house. The porch overlooks the lawn up to the stone wall. On that side of the house you can sometimes hear the running creek during season. The best part of this cottage is that one side of the house gets morning sun and the other afternoon sun – so it’s never too shaded or too sunny during your stay.

We stayed here with our dog and enjoyed it very much. It is walking distance to most of downtown Prescott which was very convenient. Granite Creek Cottage is charming and peaceful and we would stay again. We particularly liked the trail along the creek for a morning walk.
Wonderful hosts. Nice cozy place close to everything. A few things for fur baby parents, there is wildlife at night so stay vigilant to keep them safe.
We had a great stay at Granite Creek Cottage. Loved the fact that the Lazy G brewhouse was a 2-minute walk with great food. Easy walk into downtown Prescott. Would stay again. Really enjoyed the backyard sitting area.
Easy check-in and access to the house. This location is wonderful, so easy to access all Prescott has to offer. Kitchen is well appointed and plenty of space to relax.
This charming vintage cabin gave us a nice break with our dogs along. Close to lots of great food in Prescott. Be sure to try the Lazy G brew house a few doors down.
Every was easy, check in, communication the stay, location and check out. We were happy that there was coffee and the kitchen was well stocked!
Would stay again!
The property was an easy walk to downtown. There is a new brewery that is super close and had great beer and food. The firepit was a nice way to relax after enjoying the town.
The location is perfect for walkable access to the Granite Creek Trail and an excellent variety of restaurants. It's a quick drive to hiking/biking trails at Bean Peaks, Goldwater Lakes, and Wolverton Mountain. Groceries and fuel are nearby too.
We loved everything about this home! The older home, the comfortable bed, comfortable couch, large bathroom, nice backyard, creek a stone throw from backyard fence, location (walking distance to Whiskey Row), trails, fenced in parking lot. We were sad to leave..
Loved the older home! Very comfortable and clean! Perfect location to walk to the Courthouse and close by restaurants.
Hiking around the lakes was beautiful and peaceful.
Thank you for a great stay!
We had a wonderful week stay! Thank you for sharing your cottage. We hope to be back soon.Location was perfect - we were able to walk or ride our bikes everywhere we wanted to go. The property parking area was very large and it was fenced and gated. We enjoyed being able to sit outside both in the front and back of the property.Cottage was clean and Kitchen was well stocked. Communication was top notch. The hosts made us feel very comfortable and attended to all our questions and needs.
Thank you...we had a great stay. The cottage was perfect and in a great location. We hope to return to the cottage in the future. I would like to bring to your attention 2 items of concern. There was feces from some animal on the grass in the mornings (large animal). Also, when I stripped the bed, there was a urine stain on the mattress.I am not complaining; but, I thought you should know.
My husband and I only stayed a week, but wish it was longer. The house was much larger than I expected, very old but modernized, and was fenced in (although low fence on river side). It is in a great location, only a block from the Granite River Trail, so I enjoyed several walks/day on the nice path with my dog. You can access the main streets via stairs from the trail (hello Outlaw Donuts!). It's also an easy walk along Montezuma to Whiskey Row. We also loved being 1.5 blocks from Lazy G Brewery, which has an outdoor patio for dogs and great food.
