In accordance with the Town of Kiawah Island Short Term Rental Ordinance, all guests understand that the approved number of bedrooms is 3, the maximum allowed occupancy is 6, and the maximum allowed number of vehicles is 3.

This Kiawah Island vacation rental offers three bedrooms and bathrooms, scenic wooded views, and a lovely screened porch. The cottage is about a 7-minute walk to the beach.

Upon entering the living room, you will immediately notice the lovely wooded views through the rear sliding glass doors. The living room features plenty of seating, a flat-screen TV, a dining table with seating for six, and access to the screened porch. The fully equipped eat-in kitchen has a table with seating for four, a breakfast bar with seating for two, and plenty of counter space to prepare your vacation meals.

The first bedroom offers a king-sized bed, flat-screen TV, access to the balcony, and an attached bathroom with a shower/tub combo. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a flat-screen TV, and an attached bathroom with a spacious vanity and walk-in shower. The third and final bedroom (not pictured, photos will be available soon) has two twin sized beds, a flat-screen TV, and an attached bathroom with a walk-in shower. Guests will appreciate the added convenience of a third bathroom. This is a feature not found in most Night Heron cottages which typically have only two bathrooms.

Enjoy the natural beauty of Kiawah from the cottage's deck, balcony, or screened porch. The screened porch has a sofa, side chairs, and a ceiling fan to keep comfortable during the summer months.

The cottage is equipped with washer, dryer, and high-speed wireless internet. TV's are streaming only, with YouTube TV.

Guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights come with a valuable credit to use towards beach gear rentals during your stay! The credit amount for this property is $250. You may use your credit for bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach carts, and more – the choice is yours!

During your stay on Kiawah Island, be sure to enjoy biking on the 30 miles of flat bike trails, golfing on one of five world-class courses, playing tennis, crabbing, fishing, swimming, and boating. Many families also enjoy the kids’ camp and nature programs at Night Heron Park.

Kiawah Island is about 40 minutes from historic Charleston, famous for incredible shopping, galleries, antique stores, museums, the South Carolina Aquarium, horse-drawn carriage rides, historic landmarks, and sumptuous dining.

Great stay in Kiawah

The property is clean, safe, and quiet. Close to the Nest and a great park. And of course, all of the golf courses within the gates of Kiawah at a very fair price.

Spring Break

This 3 bedroom worked out great for our group of 4. It is centrally located with only a 5 min walk to the beach. Property was clean and furnished with towels, toilet paper, paper towel and kitchen towels.

Kiawah Half Marathon

What a perfect location to stay before running the Kiawah Island Half Marathon. Communication was excellent. We especially love the digital lock. Akers just emailed us our code, and all we had to do was show up at the property at/after 4 pm. No other check in process. The house was clean and beautiful. If only we had more time to stay!

Lovely Labor Day Weekend Stay

We had a wonderful time in Kiawah and really enjoyed the beautiful cottage. It was well furnished with an updated decor. The welcome package of two hats and 3 pounds of local delicious coffee was a generous touch. The screened porch was a great place to hang out with family. Our only issue was a little rodent visitor who got into our bread that was out on a counter over night. We had to put all food in the refrigerator or cabinet and sealed in baggies.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home would have been nice, however, there was a hole in the porch screen, unbeknown to us, and unfortunately a rat got the cottage.This put a damper on the end of our stay!

As you stated, and from our records, it seems that a small one came through a hole in the screen and through the sliding door when it was open. It has since been located and removed. We appreciate you letting us know as soon as you noticed an issue so we were able to address it right away. The hole in the screen has also been patched to avoid any reoccurrence of this issue.

Amazing family vacation!

We had a wonderful time in Kiawah! The location of this property is perfect- walking distance to the beach and playground for the kids, and also great for the miles of bike trails. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, plates, cups, utensils. The $250 credit that is offered for beach gear came in handy, except we wished there was a wagon rental available or provided so that we could haul all of that gear to the beach! We ended up driving it there, as there is ample parking near the beach. Some things that could use fixing up are that there are no lights on the stairs going up to the front door or underneath the driveway. It was very dark and so easy to trip going up, especially if you have small children like I did. All of the other properties seemed to have functioning stair lights. Also, the bottom step on the stairwell was loose. Overall, wonderful house and easy check in with speedy responses from the property manager. Would recommend!

Lovely respite in the woods

This is a lovely space - we had a group of 4 friends renting (3 rooms) and love the fact that there were three bathrooms! Gave everyone their space. The screened in porch is a fabulous aspect of the house - great place for a morning coffee, a nap, a read, or after dinner chatter. Lots of bird chatter to delight you. Check in was super easy, the responsiveness of the management team was phenomenal. I noted at check in that we were surprised there was no wine opener in the house and within the hour someone showed up and dropped one off! That leads to my only small issue with the house - the kitchen is not overly well stocked (certainly better than some rentals but could be better). We love to cook and stay in on our trips and would have loved a few more bowls, a decent cutting knife and some wine glasses. One other note for management- the ceiling fans in the bedroom are quite loud and not usable at night. That aside, this a great house - clean, quick 2-3 minute ride to the beach and a great place to hang out. I would stay here again and highly recommend for groups of 4-6 people.m, especially couples.

Disappointing accomodations

Bad start: the place was dirty. There is a long list of details that made us feel un-welcome and angry. The unit could have been wonderful except that so many things were wrong. Our complaints, however were addressed promptly, if incompetently. One example: the back porch, (which comes across in the photos as a lovely place), was, like the rest, very dirty. The people who came to clean powerwashed the room very thoroughly then left everything, the floor, the carpet the chairs and the seat cushions soaking wet. That pretty room was unuseable for the next two days. Cracks in much of the woodwork - crumbling drywall on all the bathroom ceilings, (mold?) rotten wood on the porch outside the master bedroom. Then, the manager offers us a 10% discount if we rent a place next year.

We are truly sorry to hear of your continued disappointment. I see here that each of the matters brought to our attention were addressed promptly as you mentioned. Regrettably, the only way to thoroughly clean exterior areas is to have them power washed. This service was scheduled and completed, and will leave areas (especially exterior linens) wet as there is no way to dry them afterward. I can confirm that our team did not find any evidence of mold in the home. We do take feedback very seriously and work diligently to improve our service and properties for guests. We are sorry that this was not entirely satisfactory for your stay.

Definite problems with Property Management

We arrived on Monday and found one of the stairs leading up to the cottage had a large hole in it and the bottom stair was wobbly, as well as the left hand railing. I immediately reported to rental company and they said they knew about the situation as someone had inspected the day before and it would be repaired the next day. At 3:00 the next day nothing had been done so I called again. I was told someone came but had to leave and get the right wood to repair. The repair person would be back the next morning (Wednesday). We had my parents with us and this was a dangerous situation for all of us, much less 2 elderly people! Someone finally came late Wednesday and repaired the hole by replacing the board and added screws to bottom stair only after we brought that to his attention as he was about to leave. Nothing done to the railing. The cottage inside is really nice and seems to be well kept. It’s unfortunate and incomprehensible that the stairs were in such terrible and dangerous condition and not addressed before our arrival. There’s just no excuse. We enjoyed the inside of this beautiful cottage and the communication with the rental company before we arrived was good. However, we are very disappointed with how this problem was handled during our stay.

Thank you for your feedback. From our records and communication I do see that the property manager noticed an area of rot on the step very shortly before your arrival. He went that evening to get materials to replace that, but found when he went to do so that it was not the correct size. He went back out that even to get the correct materials. The following day that was repaired, and as you stated, he tightened another area that was pointed out to him at that time. Regrettably, nothing regarding the railing was ever advised to us until this review. That has now been rectified as well. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. As in this case, we do make every effort to address any issues as soon as we see or are made aware of them. We hope that you enjoyed your time on the island regardless!

Downsides: the place had a foul odor that Akers attempted to address with limited success through generic air deodorizers. Like a lot of units in August, there was water damage/minor leaking on the ceiling. However, minimal mildew around vents. An ant issue was addressed by Akers providing Terro, otherwise relatively few bugs. Outside and screened porch need power wash. Front deck rail is unstable in places.

Fantastic Kiawah

Lovely location only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Great that each bedroom had a bathroom. Also the screened in porch was lovely and felt like you were in a tree house with all the lovely vegetation and trees. I noticed some other properties did have a gas grill outside and that would be a nice addition.

Lovely home in a great neighborhood close to the beach

Very clean home, great location. Love the 3rd bathroom. Management company was very responsive. The only reason for the 4 stars versus 5 is that, we had one sliver of soap for each bathroom, two bath towels per person for the week, one kitchen towel for the whole week, 3 dishwasher pods for a whole week and they seriously need a knife sharpener because the knives were dangerously dull. All things that are easily corrected. As soon as I called they had more supplies within an hour. I am confident that they will do a better job of stocking the house in the future. Very nice house, I’d stay again.

Wonderful Property!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here for a week during the PGA Championship. Perfect location, comfortable, and clean. I am extremely picky about cleanliness and this property did not disappoint. We will definitely stay here again!
