Casa del Mar - "House by the Sea" - is your home away from home... at the beach! Located in the heart of downtown Chincoteague Island, this grand home has been lovingly maintained and is conveniently situated within walking distance to the waterfront park, boutique shops, restaurants, movie theater and coffee shops! Casa del Mar is one of our newest vacation rental offerings, and we know you'll love it! The spacious, open floor plan features a family room and kitchen, as well as a formal living room and plenty of outdoor space. There's a master bedroom en suite, and the bathroom features a tiled shower and jacuzzi tub. Outside you'll find the perfect backyard, complete with a grill, outside shower. Perfect for relaxing in the evenings after a long day at the beach! And you can even bring the 4-legged family members as well! Don't delay; this one will book quickly! Floor Plan: Downstairs features the living room, family room, kitchen w/ dining area, dining room, master bedroom (King bed & Futon) and full bathroom (shower only). Upstairs features 4 bedrooms - one with a King, one with 2 Queens, one with a Queen, and another with a Queen. The King bedroom and 2 of the Queen bedrooms have attached bathrooms (tub & shower). There is a 3rd upstairs bathroom w/ tub & shower off of the hallway.

- Linens and towels are included with your reservation.
- No smoking is permitted on the premises.
- This property is pet friendly with a pet fee per pet. Pet fee is $150 per pet. All pets must be disclosed prior to arrival.
- Any reservations made for a future year (known as "Advanced Reservations") are subject to rate and availability changes. These reservations will be confirmed in January of the arrival year.

House was really large for the two of us and our fur babies but we loved it. Great fenced yard for dogs, comfortable bed, wonderful jacuzzi tub and hot tub, fire pit, screened porch, large comfy sectional sofa eith huge TV and plenty of parking. Was everything we wanted and more.

The house was great and so was the location. The only thing I was slightly disappointed about was the lack of toilet paper and paper towels. I have rented houses and condos many times and have never had to buy those for the house. The garbage cans were also very full so it was hard to throw out our garbage.

This house is a scam.

Worst vrbo experience we ever had. We specifically asked before booking if the hot tub was operational and they said yes and if there was a problem someone would immediately correct it. Guess what? it was broken and despite repeated texts and calls no one ever fixed it. They did give us a credit, but we chose this location because of the hot tub. There were bugs. Did I mention it’s located next door to a funeral home? Stay away. Beds were so uncomfortable. Many things didn't work. Absolute cheapest options for everything, like shower curtains, etc.

Tharp Reunion

We have elderly brothers that are very comfortable in your beautiful home. One brother stays downstairs where full bath is located. Other family members are upstairs in very comfortable bedrooms. We love screened in porch where you can sit without direct wind on you. Outside grill is fantastic, and kitchen very well stocked. We stayed Thursday through Monday and cooked every meal in house. We did not use the hot tub, but is available. Large dining room table for us all to sit together during our meals. We sat in huge living room in the evenings watching tv or napping!

Great place for our family get together. Plenty of room for everyone including the dogs. Fenced in backyard was wonderful.

In between a funeral home and a community center

The house overall was okay. It really just needs some care. Two of the three showers were horribly clogged to the point of water coming up tho your shins. We plunged them and we’re able to help the situation a little. The master shower was blocked by a free standing door and not usable. The gas fireplace did not work. There were no directions as to the usage of the main tv in the family room, how to access live TV etc. When we contacted the property manager, they didn’t know. There was a fire pit out back, but no wood or information as to where we could get wood. Bedrooms were a good size, but no chairs to sit on to tie your shoes or read a book in 4 of the 5 rooms. There are also some real safety issues with the house. The second set of handrails going up stairs is wobbly and there is a step up in the middle of the hallway going up to the last 2 bedrooms which is a real falling hazard. We finally rolled up a brightly colored towel to draw our attention to the step since it blends in with the flooring and is not noticeable. The size of the home was perfect for our gathering of friends, but for the price we paid off season we would have expected the home to be in much better shape. I would not recommend renting (or buying - it is for sale at a steep $$$$) this home.

Overall, we had a good time, but it could have been better...The Good: The house is HUGE. Plenty of space. Screened porch and fire pit nice for the cool evenings. Cute décor for the location/classic character of the house. Neighbors are funeral home and community ctr, so both generally quiet. Local farmers/artisans market at community ctr Saturday morning was a welcome surprise since we could easily walk over.The Bad: Parts of house/furnishings show their age (broken piece on back of LR couch, some doors don’t open/close easily, etc.). TONS of light switches, none labeled (confusing to find what turns what on/off). We paid extra for linen package; linens were provided in a bag near the front, not actually put on the beds (this was the first time I stayed where linens cost extra and were not put where they go throughout the house). Sheets were not labeled as far as we could tell; there are different sizes of beds, and we couldn’t determine which sheet sets were king vs queen, etc.The Ugly: We specifically chose a house with a hot tub, the anticipated highlight of the trip. When we lifted the cover, we saw dirt on the seats, slightly greenish water, and it reeked like creek water. Notified mgmt Friday evening when we arrived and again Saturday late afternoon. Someone came to look at it Sunday late morning, but we left that afternoon, so too late.We saw small ants, esp. around the kitchen sink, immediately upon arrival. Our pastries in unopened clamshell containers were infested by morning, as were cookies across the room, so we were out that food/$$. Mgmt offered ant baits/cups, but we saw cups already there; that’s really not a fix for a large number of ants. I can appreciate it’s an island and a more rural kind of area, so bugs happen, but we’d get up each morning and kill 20+ ants in and around the sink area of the kitchen, so not just a random sp

Casa del Mar is the perfect venue for a family vacation. We were six adults and six children representing three generations. Everyone had a comfortable bed. There was plenty of room for the children to play while adults read, talked or played games. The screened porch was a nice amenity, as was the dining room table which accommodated 12 when we added three folding tray tables at the end. The extra large washer and drier meant we had plenty of towels and beach towels available. We would recommend Casa del Mar to anyone planning a family getaway.

we had another wonderful stay at Casa Del Mar with our family and friends. The house is very spacious and we had so much room to spread out. Our group of 8 enjoyed meals in the dining room, coffee on the front porch, bocce and drinks in the backyard, movies in the livingroom and the convenience of the in town location. We have been visiting Chincoteague for the past 24 years and have stayed on many different houses on the island and Casa Del Mar is by far our favourite house. We plan on staying there again!

What an absolutely beautiful house to stay in! We thoroughly enjoyed our week staying at this huge and friendly space! The back yard was perfect for fires, kids and pets. The house was so spacious so we could spread out but also had a nice big table for everyone to join together. We hope to stay here again, next year!

Great house for our week away! Unfortunately the hot tub was broken and awaiting repair and the mold smell in upstairs master from previous year still there and visible around master bath registers in ceiling. Cleaning crew only did a fair job prior to our arrival. Sand and ants everywhere. Great place to stay and will stay here again but consider some heavy duty cleaning and updates over the off season.

The house is fine, but needs a lot of updating. The mold/mildew smell in the primary upstairs bedroom is very off-putting. We arrived at 3:40 for a 4:00 pm check in and a team of cleaners was just arriving. They “finished cleaning” in 20 minutes, but accidentally locked the front storm door so we could not get in. My son in law was able to get in through a side door that had not been closed all the way. The ashes in the fire pit were piled so high that we could not enjoy it all week without working on it. The house could be lovely, if more attention was paid to it.
