Upper Hay Getaway Home

Summary:
Upper Hay is a great fishing lake, you can fish right off the dock! This 4 bedroom 2 bath home offers 100 ft of lake frontage and 1.27 acres of land. There is a boathouse at the waters edge with a patio above to take in the amazing water view. This home has been recently remodeled and updated. Interior features include a wood-burning brick fireplace, T&G knotty pine accents, hickory cabinetry, and a lakeside deck.

The Space:
There is a public boat access on the NW shoreline for your boat launching. The location offers nearby Paul Bunyan Trail and many shops, fine restaurants and golfing opportunities in the area! Upper level bath is 1/2 bath, main floor bathroom is a full bath. You may tie up your boat on the dock at your own risk with caution towards the weather. The public launch is only about 3 miles away for easy in and out. Boat and lift pictured are not on the property. This property is also available for monthly off season rental $1700/month from October 1 to May 1.

We loved the lake and the view. But the problems with unavoidable tree blocking the path to the house was not handled well. The beds need replacement mattresses. The grill was unworkable til half the week was done, they took until Wednesday to fix it. No trek bikes available, as advertised.All said, the interior was well done, most furniture good to use, tv was good, patio was nice with a great swing overlooking the lake. Communication was poor for solving the problems we encountered. Sad to say, the place needs a thorough cleaning, someone should check the day of occupancy if all is working. We did enjoy our stay. But more than 6 adults would be impossible for comfort. The house is not set up for many people as the closets were missing in main floor bedroom, and only one shower is available. But the remodel was good.

Nice to be on the lake!

This home was a great fit for our family of 10 (6 adults, 4 children ages 4-8). The 4 bedrooms accommodated us perfectly. The stairs to the upper 2 bedrooms are small, but it wasn’t a problem for us. The kitchen is well-stocked & bathrooms have plenty of towels. We enjoyed the log swing & chairs on the boat house deck. The sunsets were beautiful! There are several steps down to the dock, again not a problem for us. The dock appears to be newer. We launched our boat at the public boat access less than 10 minutes away & kept it at the dock at the house. We enjoyed tubing & fishing on the lake (our own equipment). After pumping up the tires, we took a bike ride on the bikes stored in the garage. The home is tucked away down a wooded drive, quite peaceful.

Quiet location with de ent fishing. House was average, it appeared no one had been there for a while. Whole it was relatively clean, the lawn needed mowing, lots of cobwebs, grill had to be cleaned and fixed as it was falling apart, the floating matt stored under the deck had a big hole/tear in it, and the house smelled musty. The microwave lights did not work and the outlet by the fireplace was very loose.

Perfect getaway!

We enjoyed our stay! You have a comfortable, cozy lake home with all of the needed furnishings. We rented a pontoon boat and tube from Larry’s Lake Rentals for 4 days. This definitely added to the fun of the lake. The kids also had fun on your lily pad when we tied it off the boat in the middle of the lake. The fire pit was a relaxing way to end the evenings. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Upper Hay Experience

We had an age variety of 13 up to 74. We appreciated The fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, cleanliness, air-conditioning and full supply of towels and toilet paper as our prior rentals were lacking in these areas! Only area of concern was the steep steps down to the dock and down to the fire pit. Do not recommend if any knee issues or stability issues if planning on going down to the water. Overall was a super place to stay, and would recommend!

Fishing and fun

This was a wonderful property for what turned out to be a great vacation! The property was just what we needed with the lake right in our backyard and a fire pit overlooking the lake. Our three children loved being able to explore outside and fish from the dock. Speaking of fishing, we absolutely slayed this week catching enough for three fish fries. Bluegill, crappies, perch, large mouth, rock bass, northern pike, you name it. Very healthy lake with a lot of viable species. Could not recommended this property more.

Family lake vacation

Our family stayed for a week and enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and well supplied with items we needed. We spent quite a bit of time enjoying the patio and dock area. We would stay here again.

Wonderful Family & Friends Vacation

My family & friends had the best time staying here. Plenty of space for everyone to relax and unwind. The property was clean & had great amenities to use. The lily pad provided with the property was great to relax on the water with. We grilled several times, and enjoyed waking up and having coffee on the deck with beautiful views of the lake. The lake was perfect for kayaking, the water is so clear you could see the fish swimming below you perfectly. Great process working with the property manager, easy check in/out. Very responsive with any questions. So quiet and serene, we will definitely be making this an annual stop.
