New log cabin on Burt Lake. Has a covered porch and an open deck for relaxing with a beautiful, panoramic view of Burt Lake. Main floor guest room with common bath, Primary bedroom located on second floor with full private bath and loft area in front of door with futon. Enjoy toasting hot dogs and marshmallows around the fire pit. Wildlife decor with mounted animals and an antler chandelier, log and leather furniture, stone fireplace, wood floors and flat screen tv’s.

Everything about the Harkness Cabin is great! The online photos don’t do the backyard and lake views justice! The yard is such a great space for the kids to run around with fabulous lake views. The kitchen is well appointed and the beds are very comfortable.

Lovely cabin on the Lake!

This is our second visit to Harkness Cabin. It’s a great location to sit, relax and enjoy the wildlife of the northern Michigan forest. We had everything we needed to prepare several large meals and sit comfortably on the deck and in the dining area with our guests. It’s close to Harbor Springs and Petoskey for a quick shopping trip through the quaint shops. We love this side of Burt Lake and will likely return. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Comfortable cabin getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin was an easy to locate, beautiful getaway with open space to watch over the lake and water fowl. It was clean and had everything necessary for our stay. We enjoyed the well-appointed, open kitchen for meal prep and and comfortable dining for six. You can tell the cabin is loved and well maintained. Every room is very nicely decorated and the living area includes plenty of reclined seating in front of the tv. The dock configuration made it challenging to fish from over the Annual Free Fishing weekend, but we had fun trying. We spent most days on the large deck, with assorted Adirondack chairs, table and seating for four, and cooked meals on the large gas grill. Graham Management was easy to work with throughout the rental process. We hope to return in the future.

Reviewer Comments: It was overall a positive stay, the location is great, it was very clean, however there were a few negatives; 1. Parking instructions for extra vehicles was not real clear. we parked an extra car in the turn around at the end of the road and were confronted by one of the association neighbors to move the vehicle. 2. The description says it sleeps 6, but the small bed in the loft was more like for 1 person, not 2. 3. We had a couple of bad weather days and wanted to watch TV, the tv package does not include many quality channels. 4. There were snakes on the dock daily. 5. It was somewhat difficult getting a boat into the dock area with the shallow water. The stuffed animals in the master bedroom were over the top. Bellow where the question asks would I recommend the property to a friend, the answer is yes but with an explanation of things they should be aware of.

Harkness summer rental

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home location is perfect for seeing many sites from Mackinaw to the National Shrine of Cross in the Woods. The interior of the home is exactly as pictured and described. This cabin has all the comforts of home. The home location on the lake is also ideal. The lake is very clean and the home’s view of the lake is beautiful and has a sandy bottom. The only drawback to this property is the outdoor deck furniture and fire pit furniture. Both are in desperate need of being replaced. The deck furniture is old and rusty to the point of feeling unsafe. Also, there is not an umbrella for the table on the deck which makes it too sunny to fully enjoy the deck. The fire pit furniture is also very old and is rotting in parts.

Very Nice Home

We enjoyed the house, great views with nice amenities. One suggestion would be a laminated card with fire place instructions. Will be awesome for anyone with a boat for a summer vacay.
