Great stay in Harbor!

Our family had an excellent week at this property in Harbor Island, South Carolina. Location is outstanding with it being a short walk to the beach or the pool. Property manager communicated everything clearly.

Beach house

The house was clean and just a 2 minute walk from the beach or a swimming pool. A pass for the nearby state park was provided by the owner so a great time was had by all.

Great house and perfect location!

We all loved the house! The view from the porch was the icing on the cake. The teens loved having the whole downstairs to themselves and each room having their own bathroom. The walk to either the beach or pool could not be more convenient. Also the communication with the rental company was the best we’ve ever had.

Shipwreck

Property was very clean and efficient. Was lacking extras that we have grown to expect in our vacation rentals like a grill, beach chairs and beach toys. Was close to beach and pool but the lagoon across the street had a strong unpleasant odor

Hi Betsy, thank you for your review. We are glad you found the house clean and had everything you needed. We are sorry you were dissapointed about certain items not provided. None of the items you listed were advertised in the listing. You did not inquire about them until you arrived, or we would have been happy to tell you. The rookery smells like a rookery, we can't change that. We hope you visit again.

Great location, we had a great time. Would rent this house again

This house was perfect for our family. We loved the location! Steps away from beach access and short walk to 2 different pools. Our kids love riding their bikes all over the island. We love getting up early to watch the sunrise and see if any turtles came up on the beach to lay their eggs. We loved the screened in porch for morning coffee or listening to the tree frogs at night. I think the only draw back is the kitchen is rather small, but adequate. Might need to update a few items on the listing, like there is a keurig coffee maker which I didn’t know about. There was also a regular coffee maker as well, but could not find any filters that were mentioned in the guest book. (Small problems😉) There was a park pass for Hunting Island which we also visited. On the way out we stopped by Beedos for breakfast and it was delicious! We love Harbor Island!

Enjoyed our stay at 1 Shipwatch Harbor Island, SC

House in directly across from the Lagoon. We saw several bird species, turtles, and watched alligators swim 2 at a time. There were 4 adults and 3 kiddos age 10 and under. The boardwalk to the beach is in the backyard, and the house is between 2 pools all within walking distance. Very nice place to stay with plenty of beds. The only downside is that the house did not include the use of a golf cart. I asked the property manager where to rent a golf cart and was told that they were not allowed on the island because the island is small. Well, everyone else that rented a house had a golf cart. It would have been nice to explore the island with my grandchildren on a golf cart. Also, there is a guy on the island who rents golf carts, but they were all rented by our arrival time

Hi Kim, We are so happy that you liked the location of the house and that the beach and pools were all within walking distance. It is a great spot for bird watching and spying on an alligator or two. The house is not marketed with a golf cart which you knew before booking. The HOA does not allow for guests to rent golf carts, that is not our management company rule. If a property owner has a golf cart, the guests can use them, but can not rent one on their own. There is no one on the island authorized to rent golf carts to anyone. If the HOA permitted golf cart rentals, we would have been more than happy to assist you with that.
