North Bay Retreat is a three-bedroom, 2nd-floor condo located in the premier marina waterfront community of Shallowbag Bay Club on Roanoke Island. There is plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy their OBX vacation. Take in the water view of the marina from your front deck and the sound from your screened porch. Enjoy the great community amenities with the outdoor seasonal pool, hot tub, and fitness center. You won't have to go far for dining - check out the on-site restaurant Salt & Cypress for delicious food and cocktails.

You'll want to explore charming downtown Manteo with the Old Town shopping district, wonderful local restaurants and shops, art shows, and local events. Manteo has so much to offer - the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island, Roanoke Island Festival Park, and The Lost Colony which is the nation’s premier and longest-running outdoor symphonic drama.

Wonderful beach condo!

This condo in Manteo was the perfect choice for our family beach trip. Easy check-in, clean and spacious. Beautiful water sunset views from both decks. Highly recommend!

Fabulous Location

This condo exceeded expectations! From the beautiful views from both decks to the comforts of home, we had all we needed. The location was a short drive to everything we needed and beautiful beaches. We will definitely be back!

Staying for the half marathon

Everything about the property was great. Particularly loved the decks with great views on either side. And really appreciated the elevator after running the half marathon.

Family Getaway

This was a family getaway - a chance to relax and reconnect. We enjoyed our stay - the condo was clean, bright, room and well stocked (but I would suggest the host provide a cabinet full of spices). I recommend it to anyone. Loved the decks and the being on the Marina!

Discovered COCKROACHES in one of the bedrooms within less than an hour upon arrival. I messaged the host through the VRBO app immediately. After no response, I walked into the owners office on day 2 of our stay (it’s worth noting that the property owner is “Village Realty” - a local vacation rental management company whom I have since found has several complaints filed against them with the Better Business Bureau which have gone without response). I informed them of the cockroach issue and also advised them that a keyfob was needed to access the clubhouse that houses the “shared pool and fitness center” as provided in the main description of the property (which was never provided during our stay), and ultimately requested CANCELLATION due to the issues that we were experiencing, to which their front desk assured me that I would receive a call the next day from their “OTA Specialist”, however I never heard from throughout our stay until I received a generic message through the VRBO app on Day 5 with an apology for the “inconvenience”. Overall it was an awful experience! We don’t live with cockroaches at home and I wouldn’t expect to vacation with them. We found more cockroaches inside the unit during our stay and the thought of taking them home with us ruined our trip. Just an overall disappointment! The Outer Banks are beautiful but my advice would be to find a different rental unit and property owner for your stay. They didn’t care about our vacation in the least!

Convenient clean and safe for kids and adults.

The deck space was great. We were in town for a bluegrass festival and this location was very convenient, and clean. The elevator made access to the condo very easy. The kitchen is nicely stocked with dishes and cooking pans but you need to bring all food items (salt, pepper, etc) laundry and dishwasher soap. There is starter amount of paper products provided. I would stay again.

Work trip

The ceiling fan on the room that is at the end of the hall to the right needs to be replace, because is making a lot of noise.

The location was great, but, I was a little disappointed that everything closed so early each night. And the restaurant on site wasn't open Monday or Tuesday.
