Summary: 15544 - Sunset Chalet: Dream Waterfront A-Frame in Orleans!
The Space: Walking up to this beautiful waterfront A-frame home, you really can’t help but smile; the home is so cute, but also angular and solid, and really is just a sight to see perched directly in front of the pond. The ground level deck stretches the home even closer to the water, and the perfectly manicured lawn leading down really makes the outdoor space feel like an oasis. A gas grill enables you to cook an amazing waterfront meal, and a full kitchen inside will assist in any additional cooking needs (Note: fireplace not for guest use). Eat out on the deck, or, dine with the family or friends at the table inside, where you’ll still have unobstructed views. The main area of the home is open, bright, and inviting, with a living area to the left, an eat-in kitchen behind, and dining to the left. Further back on the first floor, there is a bunk room with a single twin and trundle, and a bunk bed. This rooms sleeps 4 comfortably and a fun round porthole skylight captures the nautical feel of this home. At the rear of the A-frame, a small seating area and bathroom are just before sliding doors that lead to a small rear deck with an outdoor shower. Upstairs, you’ll find an amazing master suite that will have you feeling like you’re living in a treehouse, or on the bow of a ship. The master bedroom offers a queen bed, plus a en suite half bathroom, as well as its own private balcony on the rear of the home. Just outside the bedroom door is a small seating area with a single Adirondack, which has sweeping views of both inside and outside; a great place to sit and read, or just daydream.
When it comes time to leave your oasis in search of food or activities, you’ll be pleased to find that Main Street in East Orleans is just under a mile away, and offers several restaurants and grocery shopping at Nauset Farms. If your body is craving saltwater and sun, Nauset Beach is just two miles away, and is perhaps one of the best beaches on Cape Cod. Downtown Orleans sits just two miles away, and has great dining options, shopping, and if you continue toward the bayside, you can catch unbelievable sunsets at Rock Harbor, and Skaket Beach. This home truly is an escape to Cape Cod and is a unique experience plus an ideal location that is a recipe for an unforgettable vacation!

Lovely view, very private. We had 3 in our group and this was perfect. Used the paddleboards and the grill and had a wonderful 3 days. A-Frame charmed us.

Nice view but not much else
The home is located on a quiet dead end street and overlooks a nice pond. That is the good..
However, the home itself is in dire need of updating including the air conditioning. The current cooling system is inadequate and loud making sleeping at night very uncomfortable. We have been renting homes at the Cape for many years and this was the first time we checked out a full day early as we just could not handle trying to sleep there another night. The house has a moisture issue as well and always had a musty odor.

Hi Scott, thank you for your feedback! I am so sorry the air conditioning impacted your stay. The day you left, we arrived at the house to find that the air conditioning exhaust hose was loosened, creating the humidity and heat you felt. We are always available to send maintenance during your stay, so I am sorry you were unable to enjoy the home because of this. Based on this feedback, the homeowner has installed mini-split air conditioners throughout the home, which will solve any exhaust hose problems that happened with the past AC floor units. Thank you again for providing this feedback!
The house was funky and authentic, the pond was beautiful. We had a great time and enjoyed everything. The only gripe was it could have been a little more comfortable when it’s really hot.
