SERENITY ON SOUTHARD is a beautifully renovated 1 bedroom second floor condo with a full kitchen and washer and dryer. This condo is located in the Truman Annex, a gated community located in the heart of the island - just steps from Mallory Square, Duval Street and all the attractions Key West has to offer. Yet, you'll have a peaceful retreat within a private gated community. Combined with Last Key Realty’s renowned Five-Star Guest Services, SERENITY ON SOUTHARD is an idyllic home base for your stay in paradise.

THE LOCATION...

Truman Annex is a private, gated community right in Old Town, Key West. You'll be just a few blocks from Mallory Square, Duval Street and all the restaurants, shopping, and attractions of Old Town, yet you'll benefit from the peace and quiet that Truman Annex is known for. Although you won't need a car to get around from this excellent location, there is a reserved off-street parking space.

THE LIVING AREA...

The living room of has a large set of French doors so you can enjoy those wonderful tropical breezes, and a large flat screen TV for those evenings when you need a break from the excitement of Old Town. The kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare meals at home. Across from the kitchen is a versatile multi-level counter with bar seating and a work space with an office chair. You'll be able to dine outside on the sunny back deck using the outdoor dining set with seating for four.

THE COMMUNITY POOL & FORT ZACHARY TAYLOR STATE PARK...

The community pool is located just around the corner, with chaises and a cabana with restrooms. Or you can walk to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, with the prettiest beach in Key West, just a half mile from your front door. The entrance to Truman Annex is secured by a 24-hour staffed guard gate and you can use the residential entry gate keys to come and go on foot at night.

Compliance with Truman Annex Community Rules & Regulations is expected of all Last Key guests. This includes “Quiet Time” in all outdoor areas, public and private, after 10PM.

THE ACCOMMODATIONS...

Great location

We didn’t have a car but got around the island mostly walking and a couple of Uber rides (way cheaper than renting a car for the week). Our favorites were mornings in the sun on the porch, the beaches, some amazing galleries, and kayaking in the mangroves. We would stay here again.

Everything was perfect. Super close to everything. Perfect for location for morning jogs at the park across the street. I loved my stay and would choose it again.

Great location

Beautiful place in the perfect location. It's close enough to Duval to walk and it's in a quiet location. We rented bikes for a short, safe ride to Fort Zachary beach. The king size bed leaves only a few feet of walking space in the small room but there's plenty of space otherwise.

Friendly staff and nice place. Only complaint is that the pool is VERY small and we were unable to get chairs to sit by it together. Some folks there actually used to chairs, one in the shade and one in the sun and refused to give one up causing my hubby and I not to be able to have 2 chaises or to sit together.

Relaxing escape

We have been staying in the Truman Annex yearly for 15+ years. This is by far our favorite place! The deck is amazing and the interior decor gives you a relaxed, laid back vibe. We will definitely be using Last Key for future stays. The personal concierge is a great perk! Even though the condo is located on the main entrance road to the Annex, our condo was very quiet.

Highly recommend this condo! Excellent location in Old Key West. Condo was immaculate and perfect for two. Secure off-street parking. Quiet neighborhood. Alena was always available and helpful with any questions. She had a Key Lime Pie waiting for us in the frig! We would definitely stay here again.

30th Anniversary

Amazing!!! The condo was described perfectly online and was just what we needed to enjoy time together, cook, relax on the deck or at the pool. The host checked in several times to ensure we had what we needed. The location is superb! We loved being close to the Truman Waterfront and Ft. Zachary State Park. The Truman Annex is a beautiful community that feels extra special, but with easy access to the beach, state park, shops, restaurants and bars. We rode bikes everywhere with no stress of driving and having to find a place to park. Best vacation ever!!

Perfect location

Location is perfect. Parking is secure and convenient. Kitchen is fully equipped, and exactly what we were hoping for. King size bed was super comfy. High speed internet allowed my spouse and I to get some work done at the same time, no problem. Water pressure in the shower was almost too low to rinse soap off, but we made it work. Washer and dryer was a nice touch, and allowed us to pack light. Overall, awesome experience. We’ll be back!

Winter Oasis

We picked the perfect week to escape 2 blizzards in Iowa. Our unit was cozy and immaculate! Great location and it was great to have off the street parking. The key lime pie they left us was an unexpected surprise! We were in frequent contact with Alena who assisted us with every question and need. My husband loved reading books out on the outside porch and I loved the swimming pool! It was within blocks of Duval St and the beach. Thanks for the relaxing week away from the sub zero tundra called Iowa.

Beautiful but needs help

The shower is only a dribble of water but the tile is beautiful. There is no water pressure so it takes 30+ minutes to fill the tub.The portable dishwasher doesn’t work. It’s a great refrigerator! The deck is nice.

Honeymoon stay!

Last Key Realty was so helpful and accommodating prior and during our stay! Delightful folks to work with. Property was clean, had all needed amenities, quiet yet close to Duval St. Great location! Only very minor complaint is the water pressure in the shower was very low, but I suppose that is personal preference. Would stay here again and most definitely stay with Last Key Realty again!

Perfect choice!

I don't usually write reviews neither good or bad. But I had to on this one because it was perfect! I've been to Key West other times but our stay here in Truman Annex was awesome. The condo is in the perfect location and was beautifully kept! Loved the privacy of the balcony and it was so quiet inside, no outside noise. King sized bed was crazy comfortable! Great view onto Southard street too. And our contact Kendra was very helpful with the check in process and any info we needed. We will be back!

Quiet, but not far from anything

Loved this little condo in the Truman Annex. Just enough space for my husband and me. We spent time almost every day at the pool. Nice quiet neighborhood but not a far walk from Duval and all the excitement of Key West. Would recommend to a friend for sure.
