4 bedrooms (1 King, 5 Queen, 2 full and a crib), 3 1/2 baths that sleeps 14

This exceptionally clean and beautiful lakefront log home on year-round deep water is perfect for your next vacation, family reunion, wedding or any other special event. The spacious 2900+ square-foot home is situated on a bluff overlooking the main channel of Watts Bar Lake. The views from the house, pool, dock and numerous decks surrounding the house are spectacular! The three-acre fenced and gated, wooded lot provides a feeling of privacy and seclusion yet is only minutes from the city. Fabulous shopping and dining at Turkey Creek in west Knoxville are only 25 minutes away.

The screened-in porch is everyone's favorite spot to unwind after a day on the lake. Watch boats go up and down the lake or sit and listen to storms blow through the area while staying dry. Cocktails and snacks are never interrupted by bugs as the porch is fully screened and has fans to keep the air moving.

The master suite has a king-sized bed with a new Tuft & Needle mattress, whirlpool bath and adjoins the screened-in porch. The guest suite has a fabulous 4-poster queen bed and expansive views of the lake. The third bedroom overlooks the pool and lake and has a deluxe queen bed, 2 twin beds and 2 new Spa Sensation queen mattresses. This room has TV with cable and a pool table. The fourth bedroom has a queen memory foam bed and separate A/C unit for comfort.

The Great Room has a large stone fireplace and a large flat screen TV with premium channels on cable/DVR with the Netflix App available as well as Streampix video library. It also has a DVD player attached to the entertainment system. Wi-Fi is available on all floors and from every room with good cell phone coverage throughout if you use AT&T or Verizon network.

The deep water, two level dock with year-round water on 39,000 acre Watts Bar Lake is the perfect access for all types of water sports and some of the best fishing in Eastern Tennessee. And with over 300 feet of waterfront, you will have plenty of quiet time down at the dock. The top level of the dock is great for hanging out with family or just enjoying the sun and the views.

From the decks, you will get 180-degree views of Watts Bar Lake comprising a portion of the Tennessee River. You will see barges float by on their way to Knoxville or a fleet of boats heading to football games at Neyland Stadium in the Fall.

The pool is open from late April where it gets plenty of day time sun to warm up quickly until late September when the weather is still warm enough to enjoy a dip in the pool with spectacular views of the lake all year around.

Watts Bar Lake consists of over 770 miles of shoreline to explore along with 14 islands and several places to cliff dive from over 80 feet high. The lake extends over 72 miles from the Watts Bar Dam up to Ft. Loudon Dam with the maximum depth of 70 feet typically found around the dam.

Castleton Farms and Whitestone Country Inn are two beautiful wedding venues and less than 30 minutes away from the home. A new wedding venue within the Harriman area, Manor at Stowers Hill is only 13 minutes from the home. Several of our guests have had their bridesmaids’ readiness parties at the home with plenty of room for everyone to dress to get ready for the big day with many beautiful gathering areas with amazing backdrops for pictures.

Frozen Head State Park, Ozone Falls and Big South Fork National Recreation Area are both very close by, a little over 30 minutes away and beautiful for hiking and other outdoor activities. Windrock Off Road Park is only 35 minutes away with over 300 miles of off road trails within a 72,000-acre park.

Several marinas rent pontoon boats with the closest being Caney Creek Marina only 10 minutes away with some of the best boat rentals on the lake. There is a boat ramp nearby as well if you bring your own boat with room for a boat in the slip and a boat on the side of the dock. Plenty of parking spaces available on the property to park your trailer(s) and to park several cars.

Minimum age for renters is 26 yars of age.

About Chris Ware

My wife, Amie grew up in Ohio and I was an army brat and lived all over the US. We currently live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area where Amie is a professor at one of the local Universities where she teaches art and I'm an IT Director for a major clothing manufacturer where I oversee Distribution systems, automation and operation improvements.

Amie and I have always had an admiration for East Tennessee even prior to us meeting just a few years ago. Amie was an artist-in-residence at Arrowmont in Gatlinburg after graduating college and has been a returning visiting artist for several years. I have always enjoyed the Smoky Mountains with hiking and fishing and all of the outdoor activities that the areas surrounding the mountains has to offer.

Chris Ware purchased this house in 2016

Why Chris Ware chose Harriman

We decided to purchase the home in September 2016 after making a visit to Watts Bar and falling in love with the home and the property. We were lucky enough to continue to work with the previous owner to help manage the property and work with the same group of people she has worked with since 2009 using HomeAway/VRBO with a 4.5+ rating.

When you drive through the gate and up the driveway you really get a sense of privacy and serenity with all of the trees and the gorgeous views from the top of the bluff. We had two of our dogs out there in the Spring and they really enjoyed being able to roam around the yard without any concerns over them escaping since the property is fenced on all 4 sides. The dock is great as it has a place above the boat lift to hang out and enjoy the lake and relax or sunbathe with a ton of privacy at the shoreline.

What makes this house unique

Privacy is one of our favorite amenities about the home and its location. There is a definite feel like you are in your own world but know you are still only minutes away from the grocery store, shopping and restaurants.

The screened in porch just outside of the master bedroom is one of the favorite places to hang out for most of our visitors. When thunderstorms blow through the area you can sit and watch the sky light up the lake and listen to the falling rain in the comfort of the enclosed room.

Year round deep water dock close to great fishing holes even from a kayak.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We were there for only two nights, but cooked the majority of our meals in the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked with just about anything you need to prepare a meal. We were very thankful for the labeling system on all the cabinets and drawers, it made finding things and putting them back in the correct location a breeze! Our group of 8 also thoroughly enjoyed the sun room, it was the perfect setting for an intense game of Monopoly. We ventured into the area for a day of riding at Wind Rock Park for my husbands birthday along with some of our closest friends. The cabin was conveniently located close to shops and a short, easy drive from the atv park. One thing to note, in the master bedroom/upstairs room to the right, there is a small gap in the wall that allows all sound to travel through and it's amplified in the upstairs bedroom. We would highly recommend the lodge to other large groups and we enjoyed our time there! The views from the back porch are stunning, would love to come back in the warmer months!!

great place for a family vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I wanted to take our mothers (both widows) on a nice vacation. This house was perfect! There was plenty of room for the four of us, our two dogs plus our daughter and her boyfriend drove down from Iowa to join us. My mom commented that the house was even nicer than presented in the pictures. We spent lots of time in the pool which was very enjoyable. The screened in porch overlooking the lake was the favorite spot for everyone to sit and talk. The large fenced in yard was great for our German Shepherd allowing him to roam free. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina and swam in the lake. We visited Cummins Falls which was beautiful. Our moms stayed at the house which was a good idea because the falls aren't the easiest to walk to. We will definitely be visiting this rental house again.

Thru the Gate & up the Drive, Beautiful Surprise!

  • 5 of 5

Chris, I can’t thank you enough for the accommodations that your place offered up for us. We were about 15 - 20 minutes from the Funeral home and Church and my sisters in law’s house. I can’t put in words the escape your lake house gave us in order to allow others to visit the family at her home. We cooked inside each night and the home slept 12 of us very comfortably. The water in the showers and tub was hot and nice and the flow of the house was great. I love the amazing fans – as well as the lighting, as I’m a big kid when it comes to lights. The grounds were being taken care of while we were there and the place looks absolutely stunning with the trees budding out, birds singing and all the natural light. Chris, there’s only one problem, I’m spoiled now. I would have to say that the 1st thing that I would change would be NOTHING AT ALL. We plan to visit again and have our kids and grand kids over for fishing or a swim. If your travels every bring you to our area please call and perhaps we could meet and do a good lunch as this trip offered up more than just the nice relaxing house.

Thankyou, K

Spring in Tennessee

  • 5 of 5

We have traveled a lot and finding a safe place for our dogs is always a challenge. This place was five star for them, with lots of room to run and play. This of course makes all the difference in our stay!!!

This cabin is beautiful, equipped with everything you could need, and the owners respond almost instantly to questions. Very quiet neighborhood with beautiful walking trails close by. And of course the lake is beautiful!!!

We love this place, just gets better and better!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit to the home and we again were blown away with the updates the owner, Chris, has done to the home since our first visit. He really is easy to work with and if we had any questions we heard back pretty quickly either from him or his property manager. Our second stay and it wasn’t just a fluke! If I could give him 10 Stars for his attentiveness and caring about our satisfaction during our stay, I would!

After staying here last year we decided to bring our grandmother to the area for her birthday surprise party. The home is extremely clean even for a log cabin... has all the amenities we could ask for. The kitchen is well stocked with plating, pots and pans, silverware and appliances. The home has plenty of room to house all of our family members comfortably yet we still felt like we could get away from each other for a little privacy.

The area is beautiful this time of year. We had a little snow one day and then it warmed up later in the week. The sprawling property feels like you are in your own nature reserve. Our kids were able to run around outside without us worrying about getting beyond the fence line of the road, pool (even though it was covered up) or getting down to the lake.

The area is amazing not just for the lake views but the people in town are extremely helpful. We have been to some beautiful homes around the US but don’t feel the welcoming and friendliness of the people that we do here. Even the workers at the property are so kind and will do anything to ensure we are comfortable during our visit.

We plan to come back again for our wedding anniversary... without the kids and while the pool is open!

We highly recommend this property for families, romantic getaways and for girls weekend! In fact our families are starting to inquire on future dates at the home. They better invite us!

Thank you again for such an amazing second stay at your property. We are still blown away and didn’t want to leave!

Michelle

Early Spring in East Tennessee! Ah!

  • 5 of 5

This house is wonderful. Spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The perfect retreat for any time of year. In early March, pear trees, red buds, and daffodils were in bloom all over the place. So even the drive up to the house was gorgeous. And the 180 views of the lake gave the place that never-ending "aaah" feeling. Nothing better than a house on a hill with an expansive water view!

The house itself is quite roomy, but still cozy and comfortable. Comfy couches, comfy beds, great views of the water from every room! As a cook, I particularly loved the kitchen, not only because it was well-stocked with all the useful/necessary appliances, was easy to work in, and open to the main living space, but you could also see the water while standing at the sink! Big win for me!

Amie and Chris have done a great job with the smaller details/amenities as well. There were games (indoor and outdoor), puzzles, books, lots of TV options, and reliable internet. Quiet washer and dryer in a very convenient location. Quiet dishwasher. Large (immaculately clean) frig with water & ice on the door.

The location of the house is also excellent. In the few days I was there, my friends and I went hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains (Frozen Head Trail), did a day trip into historic Knoxville (boutique shops, restaurants, museums, art galleries, historic bldgs) and another to Gatlinburg to cruise the 8 Mile Craft Loop for handmade artisan treasure! Had we more time, we could have also gone to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge or headed out to Ashville, NC.

The whole experience proved to be a very fun and relaxing get-away. I would love to come back here for a family vacation or to hang out with friends again. And I'd love to come back in summer so I can check out the views while floating in the pool!

Thanks, Chris and Amie!

Spacious Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin. Very pet friendly and spacious. We will rent again. The only thing we would add would be space heaters for the 2 end upstairs bedrooms for the winter months. They seemed cooler than the rest of the bedrooms.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review Tammy! We are so happy you all had a fantastic time at the house during the Christmas holidays. Excellent advice on the additional heaters... It has been unusually cold there the past couple of weeks so we are definitely working on getting that resolved before our next guests arrive. Appreciate you providing those details and the advice on the additional heaters. Chris
