Come and relax at this fabulous beach home that is tucked away on the quiet northern end of Chincoteague Island! Aptly named, "Shady Grove" is situated in a natural marshland grove in the Richardson's Landing community. Features include 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, numerous updates and remodeling and a bright, open floor plan. Come and see for yourself - you won't be disappointed!

A perfect location for a girls trip!

The property was comfortable and the location was perfect. We enjoyed our time at the Shady Grove and look forward to a return visit.

Family Summer vacation

Great house

Great house, the deck and view is wonderful. Easy access to beach with short drive. Very quiet area and peaceful. The full kitchen is great as if you dont make resurvations to eat dinner in Chicoteaque it is hard to get a table fwiw.

Lovely spot!

We had a great time here. However, the twin bed mattress was not comfortable. The dishes were not very clean. The deck chairs were broken. The management company required us to bring linens for a long weekend or be charged $275 per person. We were supposed to clean which we did and were still charged a cleaning fee even though we elected to bring our linens. So, the house and the location were nice, but the details were a bit annoying.

Even better than described

We had a wonderful week at Shady Grove (8/20 to 8/27). Bottom line: the house was superb. Now the details. First, the house condition was immaculate and it has excellent air-conditioning. Second, the house is well stocked with kitchen utensils, plates, bowls, silverware, good quality appliances (including a large refrigerator with ice maker), a charcoal grill, a Roku television (reasonably, guests need to have their own subscriptions to Netflix, Disney+, etc.), a hair dryer, shampoo and body wash in the showers, and a portable high chair. Third, the beds were comfortable. We were a family of 8, ranging in age from 3 to 76, with several millennials. The house accommodated everyone well. The wrap-around deck provided plenty of extra space when someone needed to get away from the playful screaming of the 3 and 7-year old. The photos in the listing accurately capture the sense of privacy for the house, even though there are other houses nearby. One small complaint: the information provided was not fully accurate. The house has MORE amenities than we were told. We were told there was no grill, and so we brought a grill with us. Yet, as noted, there was a good charcoal grill. We were told that the dining table could not be expanded, and that there were only 4 dining chairs, and so we brought a card table. In fact, the table does expand and holds 8 people comfortably; and there are 8 dining chairs (with an additional desk chair and folding chair) available in addition to the bar chairs at the kitchen counter, which could be used for the table in the screened porch. We look forward to returning.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great house in a quiet cul-de-sac. It was very clean & the kitchen had all the amenities we needed (even mallets for crabs!). The view from the porch was a fan favorite. You can see the water and we enjoyed watching so many varied species of birds in flight over the marsh. You will need a car but the national seashore is only about 10 minutes away by car. There is an outside hose to clean off after the beach which was helpful.

July 2021 Stay

We had a great stay. Property was perfect for us, clean, enough space, good layout. Kitchen was perfect for vacation rental. Folks at Resort Vacations were great. Three improvements required. 1) Need second outside trash can. Not enough room in one can. Can was full when we came in and after it was emptied we filled it . 2) Need codes for all streaming services. The TV was not programmed and we used our codes from home. 3) all mattresses should be replaced with higher quality mattresses. Mattresses were tje worst we have had in a long time.
