Just a one block walk to a gorgeous Lake Michigan beach, we welcome you to Almost Heaven. This three-bedroom, two full bath home is the perfect location for your getaway. A quick walk to a wonderful coffee/sandwich shop as well as Red Arrow Roadhouse. Beautiful screened-in porch with private hot tub (open year-round) as well as outdoor gas grill. Roast s'mores under the stars with your outdoor firepit. This is a ranch style home, two bedrooms each have a queen bed. Third bedroom has two queen beds and two twins as well. Cozy family room perfect for gathering or watching your favorite movie on your flat screen TV.

All the amenities you would expect in a quality rental including hot tub, internet, cable, washer/dryer, central heat/air, gas grill, and much more! Close to everything in Harbor Country!

This house was great! So much space, super comfy beds, the hot tub was clean, and the location is awesome!! We highly recommend this house and also shared the info with our family who owns a house nearby (so they can suggest to friends and family that come to visit)!

Wonderful place to stay!

We really enjoyed staying here for a friends trip! The photos are great, but it's even better in person. Modern and clean, great amenities, check in was super easy, and we loved the hot tub. Would highly recommend!

Lovely convenient property

Great location, close to a nice beach and easy access to Red Arrow Highway. Plenty of room. Nice hot tub and backyard to sit, have a fire, or a barbecue. Since you check in using a key pad I am not sure why they want you to check in between 5 and 7.

Amazing Extended Weekend!

Celebrating my mom's birthday this year in the New Buffalo area and we were lucky to find this spot! Super cozy one level home with an enclosed porch so we could still enjoy the hot tub despite the cool weather! Close to downtown Union Pier to enjoy all the restaurants and close to the casinos, dunes and wineries. No issues with anything--great communication with property manager--would definitely return here for next years trip!!

Father’s Day escape

The property was clean and spacious. The location was fabulous. The beach access was so close. The hot tub was area was dreamy. Sitting in a hot tub watching my kids and spouse roast marshmallows was exactly what I needed. The one child who got the room with all the beds was more than delighted with the space. That room is way cooler than the pics. And the coffee at the Whistle Stop is delicious!

Great location but kitchen needs a revamp

The dishes were really gross. There were dirty dishes in the cupboard. This made us eat out instead of cooking at the house.

Fun but rainy week in Union Pier, Michigan

The property was located close to the Lake. It was clean but the bed in the master bedroom left a little to be desired. The rest of the house was okay. The management was very quick to respond to our request to service the hot tub. They did their best to help us out.

Cozy spot in a fantastic location

This was the perfect spot for a quick getaway from Chicago. It ended up just being me (mom) and our two kids as dad got sick and stayed home. We only used the bedroom with the 2 queens and trundle bed, but all beds in that room were very comfortable. The location was ideal for us as we spent much of our time hanging out with friends over on Nolan and at the beach. We loved being behind Whistle Stop as it was easy to pop over for snacks and meals. Check in / out was easy and the house was well equipped with beach towels, beach chairs, sand toys, etc. My 7 year old son loved the place so much he asked me if we could buy it so we can always stay there. We'll definitely be back and hopefully dad can join next time.

The closeness to the beach, layout of the house and the hot tub were a plus.The minuses were the condition of the house. It needs a lot of minor maintenance: Both screen doors are falling apart, sinks were leaking, back deck needs stain to protect as it is bare wood and jams the back screen door because it swells.There were dirty pans in the cabinet and no salt or pepper for cooking.It's a cute house and with a little TLC, it can be back up to snuff.I texted with the property manager and they apologized and said the maintenance items would be addressed. We would stay there again if the items are taken care of.

Relaxing visit

My wife and I enjoyed our time in Union Pier. The house was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was great! Walking distance to Lake Michigan. Master bed was very comfortable. First impressions are always very important to us. The first thing we saw was an old screen door as you enter the house that needed repair. That would be an easy and inexpensive way to improve that first impression. There are three screen doors that need to be replaced. Overall, we had a very nice and enjoyable time. I would recommend the Beer Church and the Stray Dog in New Buffalo (10 minutes away) for a nice lunch or dinner.

Great escape!

We absolutely LOVED Almost Heaven! Sadly, the weather was cold and windy so we didn't get to enjoy the bonfire pit or the beach for too long but it was an awesome staycation over our daughter's spring break anyway! The sweet hot tub was our solace and enjoyed it twice a day! We got groceries from some great markets in the area and made our own meals the whole time in the fully-furnished kitchen. There was so much to do but since it was so cold and windy, we only went to the Warren Dunes. The home is lovely, spacious, and well-lit that we just appreciated being in a new space even though the weather kept us inside. Almost Heaven is fabulous and we hope to visit again when the weather is warmer and can have more fun outside.

Nice place!

We took a 3-day fall break trip to Union Pier and enjoyed our stay at this property. It was very clean and had lots of great spaces for us and our kids to hang out. We loved being close to the beach and the Whistle Stop. We’d stay here again and recommend it to friends!

A great spot for beach and food

The place was great overall — bright, fresh and lots of beds. The location is good with the public beach entrance right at the bottom of the road. I had been a bit concerned about the proximity to Red Arrow Highway and the restaurant, but the sound was not an issue and being able to put our name on the waitlist and pop back into the backyard was a plus. The newly remodeled kitchen had lots of good stuff (regular and Keurig coffee makers) but was lacking some things we’d expect — ice cube trays (no ice maker), regular spoons (only teaspoons), can opener, colander and cookie sheet. The last two are nice to have but first three should be there, though not a huge inconvenience. The other odd thing was the box spring in the master that was so noisy that it would wake us both up when we moved at night (never experienced before). After the first night we put the mattress on the floor. The backyard had a good grill but is shared with three other properties though it was not an issue during our stay. As I said, these are pretty minor but the difference between a 4-star and a 5-star property. Regardless, we’d happily stay here again — we’ve been coming to Union Pier for over a decade and have stayed in over a dozen spots.
