We had the coziest time at the chalet. The place is clean and welcoming. We had the opportunity to enjoy lots of hot tub time as well as an outdoor fire. We enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend checking it out. :)

A great weekend getaway

We had a great stay at Joy’s Chalet. A very relaxin and quaint cottage, perfect for a weekend away from the city. The fishing was exceptional and the hot tub was a great addition. Would stay again!

Beautiful and Cozy Getaway

Property wasn't far from Ottawa, gorgeous location overlooking the lake. Amenities were excellent, location was clean and comfortable. Host was super responsive to quickly help when we had questions. Perfect place for a romantic winter getaway.

Perfect getaway

My wife and I booked this property to get away from the city and enjoy a relaxing fall getaway. Joy's Chalet was perfect for what we were looking for. The chalet was clean and well set-up, the property is gorgeous and secluded. We would absolutely visit again.

Nice quiet place - well equipped

The cottage was nicely equipped and we enjoyed paddling through the tunnel into the larger lake and hiking at Foret Bowman (although finding the entrance wasn't easy so download maps before you go). The host was very responsive

Merry Christmas

Fantastic chalet for my wife and our Golden Doodle Miloue. Extremely private setting with no neighbors that we saw and the hot tub was extremely private as well as, the outside fire pit. Will go again! Thanks for making our Christmas special. Cheers

Exactly as described

The cottage was great and the amenities were exactly as described. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As warned the lake/dock was weedy so we opted to go swimming with our 19month toddler at the boat launch that was a 2 minute drive down the road. If you go with a toddler, I would bring two baby gates to help deal with the big stair case and the patio which has a drop as shown in the photos.

Nice Cottage

Enjoyed a 4 night stay here. Property is located at the end of a back bay. The bay itself was weedy, good for easy fishing but not so great for swimming. Paddled thru the culvert to get to the other side of the reservoir and did some swimming there. Good size kitchen and eating area, nice setup outside including the hot tub. Beds were very comfortable and we all were able to get a good nights sleep. Overall had a great stay, no real complaints.

Amazing hidden gem

I really wasn’t going to write a review because this was such an amazing hidden gem that I just want to keep it to myself haha my husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary with our pup and when I tell you we were ready to stay forever I mean it. It was perfect and had everything you”d hope for in such a location. The property was clean and welcoming. The host was very nice and easy to work with. The view is so relaxing, we spent most of our vacation outside by the fire and just admiring the view. My husband and I will most definitely be back.

Very peaceful and quiet but no AC

Very peaceful and quiet with a nice view of the lake. The perfect place if you want to relax. The cottage doesn’t have AC which made our stay a little uncomfortable despite the fans provided by the host. The place needs a little sprucing. Newer linens and towels for instance. As well as a new/clean shower mat and the decks need better maintenance/repair. Overall we enjoyed our stay. It allowed us to spend quality time as a family. The outside setting is very nice with the hammock and fire pit. I enjoyed drinking my morning coffee on the dock by the lake!

Fantastic Stay!

We had a fantastic few days at Joy's Chalet. The Cottage is an easy and pleasant one hour drive from Ottawa. It's located in a calm and quiet little bay off the main lake. The cabin has lots of windows providing plenty of fresh air and beautiful views looking down on the water. It opens onto a large deck also with great views and access to a sparkling clean hot tub. The cottage was well furnished and fully equipped with everything we needed including a modern and full kitchen. There is a very comfortable separate trailer for larger groups that came in handy for us as we were three couples. Our hosts were extremely accommodating and super easy to communicate with. Responses were almost immediate and they did everything to make sure we were happy. If you're looking for a nice quiet, private getaway, yet still close to the city, this is perfect. (In fact, we liked it so much we've already booked it again!)

Nice Spot !

Joy's cabin was a perfect place for a winter getaway with friends. Big enough for 2 couples and pets for a period of time with excellent amenities. It really was excellent to find a place this nice that allows pets and I was happy to have the equipment available to do a mid stay clean as well. For a group staying as long as we did it in winter it became a bit pricey buying bundled wood from the local corner stores and deps, much of which was poor quality softwood that didn't give much heat or last long in the stove. It would be nice if perhaps Harsh considered buying in a couple cords per winter and charged a fee to his guests for use beyond a certain minimum - but that's a small complaint. All in all it was a lovely place to stay, just far enough out of the way to truly relax, quiet and surrounded by woods and lakes. We would definitely go back!

Nice getaway close to Ottawa.

My partner and I had a nice stay at Joys Chalet. The location was great and convenient from Ottawa, the property had all the amenities we needed, and is a beautiful cottage for a couple to stay at. We did have some minor concerns with cleanliness around at the property including the bathmat being wet when we arrived and the many of the dishes & cutlery had food debris on them. The hot tub was our biggest concern as it had a lot of dirt at the bottom as well as a yellow film around the whole tub. Inside the property was very dog friendly but outdoors could have also used a tidy up. There were some shingles and broken items on the grounds, and lots of old items under the deck which made me worried about my dog running around that he may step on something and get hurt. Overall, we really enjoyed our time at the chalet but wish it had been given a more thorough clean inside and out.

Wonderful Couple of Nights Away

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights over this past weekend. Joy's Chalet provided everything we hoped to get from our time away. It's an hour or so from downtown Ottawa, We got to bring our doggo which was wonderful! Communication with the host was 10/10. Chalet was as described. Check in a breeze. Beds were comfortable, lots of spare blankets and pillows. Chalet was perfectly clean. Everything worked as expected, no issues with anything in the kitchen and the hot tub was in perfect working order. Lots of hot water. TV and WIFI worked perfectly. The only thing I will mention to look out for is outside, needs a bit of maintenance on the steps at the lower deck. We almost took a tumble a couple of times on loose stairs. And bring bug spray! The host had this listed in the description and they were not kidding.

Le chalet est bien mais a besoin ee beaucoup damour linterieur est le plus propre mise a par des problemes de petites fourmis . La propriété des lits et serviette etait bien mais beaucoup de poussiere toile d'araignée pas tres bien nettoyé. Le terrain sur les photos semblais tres bien mais lorsque nous sommes arrivés setais plein de haute mauvais herbe le patio est pourris partout le bbq ne fonctionnais pas mais lhote a ete aimable et nous a fait parvenir un bbq neufe le tout etais bien mais vraiment pas comme les photos le lont laissé paraitre.

A joyful vacation at Joy's Chalet

Joy's Chalet is a beautiful cottage with cozy decoration and well equipped kitchen. It also has good outdoor seatings and facilities (hot tub, fireplace, etc). The chalet is nicely located in front of a hill and sheltered by trees, so it remained naturally cool and comfortable even on hot summer days. The view of Baie d'Albert is amazing, and it is possible to see a partial sunrise from the bed. Baie d'Albert is calm and quiet, perfect for some relaxing water activities. When we want to explore more, the fun and large Recevoir d'Escalier is just a tunnel away. The host is amazing and thoughtful... they installed washer and dryer for us because we stayed long. We highly recommend this cottage for a family vacation!

Get away

My spouse and I stayed at this magical cottage for 3 days. The cottage was perfect for us and is perfect for 4 people. Host was really quick while responding and gave a great manual for guests. For people that likes hikes, there is a nice hike really close of the cottage of 5km (Bowman Forest Trail) and we have ordered from the Restaurant Chez Renaud which was great. Totally recommend this place.

Très frustrant et décevant

Le chalet annonce 3 chambres et il n'y a que 2 chambres. Lorsque nous avons constaté cela nous avons communiqué avec la propriétaire qui nous a répondu que la 3e chambre était dans le camper à l'extérieur mais fermé pour l'hiver. JAMAIS nous aurions loué un chalet avec 2 lits. Nous avions fait notre recherche pour 3 chambres et plus. Je suis furieuse de ne pouvoir faire confiance à ce site.

Sorry that there was this misunderstanding. We have never had any complains about this because it has been clearly mentioned that the third bedroom is in the trailer. However, because we want to provide best service and to avoid similar cases in future we have updated details to having 2 bedrooms now. We won't be renting our trailer moving forward. Apologies for the confusion but we have no intention of being dishonest.

September visit

The cottage was as advertised and had everything we needed. Hot water was plentiful. Big TV was a nice plus with good selection of streaming networks. Hot tub was clean and a nice plus. Bed was comfortable. Only disappointment was around the dock where it was very weedy and left us not wanting to go in for a swim. Quite a bit of junk around the yard but I would assume it will be gradually cleaned up. Host was quick to respond. Very enjoyable stay.
