The Carriage House - Your own piece of paradise

Nestled within our 28 acres on a rocky outcrop overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay, the Carriage House offers a unique opportunity for relaxation and solace. With uninterrupted views of the bay and stunning sunsets there is always something of interest to see.

A private road leads from the property to the beach where you can spend time walking the shoreline and searching for sea glass.

Overlooking St Andrews and Ministers Island the large deck is perfect for alfresco dining, relaxing in the sun or watching the bald eagles glide by. The deck also holds a propane Weber BBQ.

The property benefits from a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and touch operated faucet.

Air conditioning along with ceiling fans are fitted along with a new (2022) wood stove, large patio doors and panoramic windows. Bose radio and large a 55” TV are installed in the lounge/diner/kitchen.

To the side of the cottage is a fire pit and Adirondack chairs where guests can view the spectacular sunsets.

We are blessed to have a small resident herd of white tailed deer, regular visits from wild turkey flocks, foxes and bald eagles. If you want to experience nature you’ve come to the right spot. With little light pollution, star gazing can be spectacular on clear nights.

Superb. Every small detail attended to including bath salts and a various array of bathroom luxuries. Also the kitchen was incredibly well stocked with cooking utensils and various equipment.

Neill and Debbie set a very high standard; their place is a joy to stay at as they have thought of everything. Neill met us at our arrival, and gave us a grand tour, including to the beach. He also informed us as to where to go to shop, and to eat. We really loved staying there and hope to be able to return someday. PS The views and sunsets were spectacular!

Carriage House

We have stayed in many rental homes in our travels and this one topped them all. Great location, beautiful view of the bay and sunsets. Hosts were very approachable and helpful with recommendations for food and local places of interests.

2 night stay

A perfect location to relax and enjoy the scenery. The Carriage house is decorated and equipped perfectly. The short walk to the water is a bonus. And if looking for restaurants etc its another short drive, but we were happy to stay put. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a low key getaway. Neil and Debbie were very helpful and pleasant.

A Home Away From Home

Our stay was incredible! My partner and I were shooting photos of the coastline in the area and we were looking for a cozy little basecamp. Between the freshly made bread and homemade jam on arrival to the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in, this place had an instant place in our hearts. Neil made sure we had everything we needed and more. We would gladly return to this spot in the future and recommend it to anyone looking for a blissful getaway.

Gorgeous October visit!

The carriage house was one of my best vacation spots! The apartment looked brand new and clean and had all the amenities I could think of- and more! The walk down to the water is a magical mossy forest and the beach at low tide is a wild landscape to explore! I watched eagles fly by in the morning light from my bed, then enjoyed sunny October afternoons on the balcony listening to the water and the birds (It's so quiet! No traffic or neighbours!), watched the sunset, then star gazed. Neil greeted me, showed me around, suggested lots of local activities and told me to let him know if I needed anything at all. I definitely recommend to anyone wanting a quiet getaway and would return myself! I wanted to stay forever!

Peaceful

Amazing respite from the noise of daily life. Fabulous hosts who have thought of everything to ensure guests' comfort. And the welcoming crew of Charlie and Molly are the happiest, smiliest, & waggiest tail hellos in SW NB! Property is immaculate and just as shown in photos. Perfect deck to enjoy coffee or tea while getting lost in the view and talking to the squirrels & birds. The walk to the beach is a lovely stroll in a dappled forest that brings you to a rocky shore with all kinds of treasures to be found. Everything is easy here. BBQ worked beautifully, kitchen has all that you may need, bedding was comfy, insanely comfortable recliner chairs, tv and surround sound was fully enjoyed by my husband, and a soaker tub that was icing on the cake at the end of the day. Perfect jumping point to island hop from Deer to Campobello...and an unexpected drive through Maine to complete the Quoddy Loop when the ferry was grounded unexpectedly at a low tide. Bring passports! :) Green's Point lighthouse is just down the way and is a must for watching the tides of the bay come in and out. Several seals did swim bys for our entertainment. Loved our stay here. Highly recommend!

New Brunswick Gem by the Bay

What else can we say but WOW as we found our own little piece of 5-Star heaven! The cottage was incredibly serene and peaceful, and we found it the perfect place to escape. The cottage was incredibly clean with a nicely stocked kitchen. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep after exploring the nearby rocky beach, which is just a short 5-minute walk away. The sheets were luxurious, and the hosts even ironed them making them extra comfortable! The little extras go above and beyond 98% of the places we’ve experienced, and we stay in VRBO’s 4/5 months out of the year. The only thing that comes close to topping the actual Carriage House would be the incredible hosts! Neil & Debbie were very respectful of our privacy yet were available quickly if needed. We absolutely loved our month at The Carriage House and can’t wait for our return visit that is already on the books.

Fabulous and peaceful

Neil was so gracious and attentive to all my needs. He even turned the outside security lights off for me at night, so I could see the stars. The cottage was peaceful and perfect for a rural getaway, with a magnificent ocean view. For sure, I would like to come back some day for a longer stay.

Wonderful spot!!!

Wow! What a gem of a spot. We had a wonderful time at this incredible getaway - A beautiful home with an incredible view and the most welcoming and generous hosts. We appreciated all the small details that made the trip so comfortable. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful Part of the World

We were at the property for a week as we explored many parts of New Brunswick. Absolutely everything about the stay was fantastic. Neil and Debbie were great hosts and gave us many recommendations for things to do and see as well as restaurants in the area. We felt completely at home and The suite is equipped well for cooking and baking. Bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed. We spent some time at their beach during a lower tide. It only rained one day while we were there so we stayed in, read books and watched movies. Great vacation, great hosts- incredible bay views where you can watch the lobster boats work. We would stay there again if we come back to NB again. Thank you Neil and Debbie!

A Piece of Paradise

We really enjoyed our week with Neil and Debbie. They are gracious and kindly hosts who ensure that your stay is comfortable, quiet, and secure. They go out of their way to give information, recommendations, and advice. The Carriage House is stocked with modern conveniences and essentials such as soap, shampoo, tea, coffee, to name a few. The view of the ocean is to die for. I will recommend this rental to my friends and relatives - without question.

Beautiful spot

Comfortable, clean, and cozy. Respectful and responsive host. If you’re looking for a place to stay within a few minutes walking distance to a beach, this is it. Perfect place for a relaxing getaway. A beautiful spot that allows pets is rare to find these days so this was a wonderful bonus. Highly recommend.

Tranquility in St George

Despite various weather conditions mother nature threw at us… fog, rain and the forecasted hurricane Lee, we also had a few sunny days to enjoy fantastic sunsets after visiting nearby islands. Our hosts shared excellent restaurant suggestions. When the weather forced us to hunker down, the reading selection and large TV screen, bath salts and warm cosy home kept us snug and safe. Our hosts made sure we were safe and warm. These 8 nights were so relaxing and the king size bed with outstanding view was a bonus. Definite 10/10 rating deserved here

A True 5 Star Rental

Our stay at the Carriage House was an absolute treat. Debbie and Neil are the best hosts - friendly and always available with suggestions for places to visit, shop, and eat. We have stayed in many self-catering places because we like to cook and live like locals when we travel and the Carriage House has to be the best stocked place we have ever rented. Everything you could possibly need was there. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. What you see online is exactly what you get. The views from the balcony were the best - and so peaceful and quiet to sit out there and enjoy the sunny days and gorgeous sunsets. We would gladly move in if we could. Thank you Neil and Debbie - hope to come back in 2024.

Amazing week of serenity and relaxation

Hosts thought of everything. Also had amazing ideas where to eat, and to visit. All we thoroughly enjoyed. Property centrally located. Even got to cross border shop in Calais. Dog friendly and our dog was able to chase some deer at the beach and also yo swim in the ocean . Lots of acreage to walk if need be. Would return if we get the chance . The views from Carriage house were awesome!

Just What We Needed

Received an email from Neil mid morning that we could check in early and provided the time. We arrived and chatted with Neil and Debbie for about a half hour on a beautiful sunny Friday overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay. Neil gave us the tour detailing everything the Carriage House has to offer, and that is saying a lot. Great use of every inch of the space, the right amount of technology (Particularly high end audio which I love) and everything you would need for yourself or if you were hosting a dinner party. After night 1 we cancelled dinner reservations we had for Saturday and Sunday in St Andrews , bought more groceries and did our very best to enjoy the property and the views. Next stay will be greater than 3 nights.

…because I don’t want anyone else to find this gem of a place and its incredible hosts! I want this place to be mine, all mine!! Absolutely spectacular property, scrupulously maintained, clean as a whistle and the most wonderful hosts you could hope for. We actually wanted to spend a good chunk of our holiday just hanging out with them! Neil and Debbie are not only providing you with an amazing getaway, they’re also contributing actively to their community’s growth and longevity. We can’t say enough good things about this place and its people. Thank you again for an unforgettable first visit to New Brunswick!

Enchanting escape

The perfect location to relax, connect with nature and recharge. Neil and Debbie are superb hosts who demonstrated true hospitality. The property lacked nothing for amenities and everything was immaculate. Waking in the morning to that view of the bay and falling asleep with the moon or starlight reflecting on the water was restorative to the soul. The small town is just a short drive away with quaint restaurants and very friendly people. Wonderful cottage in a wonderul location.
